Play FO2 then, it's much better and more hardcore, well, actually, FONV is pretty hardcore (lots of UNLEVELED places ftw).

Isn't FO2 turn based like FO1 and is FO2 fun at all?

jaik

I enjoyed FO1 the most.
Blake.H: And im also working on whipping him into shape
Blake.H: He's nice
Blake.H: He doesn't moan
Blake.H: The sheer obedience is enough to fuel my erection anyway

It is, regarding both questions. FO2 and FO1 is a funny game.

The correct answer is, inevitably, Fallout 2.

Black Isle Studios had learnt from the mistakes they made in the prior Fallout game, developing the engine, and creating quite possibly one of the greatest gaming experiences in history.

For various reasons, I'm not at HGN much any more.
I'll see you all around, though, some time...

Frostee

So if I were to buy one of the Fallouts what would you guys suggest?

Pink!

Playing the original games, considering their age, can be a difficult prospect, but if you are willing to apply the necessary effort...

Every game has its pros and cons. Fallout 1 and 2 had the most developed storyline out of all the games, but I myself am not much of a turn-based person. Fallout 3 was more of a joke when it came to the storyline, but had excellent game mechanics. Fallout NV was a magnificent improvement on the storyline, the game mechanics the same if not better, and the weapons were an interesting prospect of the game(particularly the Archimedes II).

I played Fallout 1 for 5 minutes before uninstalling it. I HATED it. Call me an FPS whore, but the turn based combat was horrible for me. I just couldn't do it at all.

I liked New Vegas the best, because of all the new content and atmosphere it played with.

Yeah I agree with you on New Vegas

I've not played New Vegas so I voted Fallout 3.  I've tried Fallout 1 and 2 and they seem like they were probably amazing games back in the 90's, and I do sometimes play them when I'm bored.  Still I love Bethesda's open world in Fallout 3 compared to 1 and 2.
