Borderlands and Left 4 Dead had a baby

Wow, when I first saw this game I wasn't really interested, but now it looks really good.

When I saw the Cinematic Trailer, I was not interest.

Now, after watching the gameplay, I'm even less interest.

>makes guns scarce so it is realistic
>adds electric swords and exploding knives

I am gonna buy it looks awsome, finally a game with zombies you can explore with. That has decent graphics as well and stuffz. Looks like Left 4 dead mixed with dead rising in my mind.

Personally, it looks fucking retarded.

1. Stupid location that nobody can relate to.
2. Immersion is broken with electrical machete's, arcade style points, and tons of HUD clutter.

That's not to say that it does some things right. It's more melee oriented for one.

I still think that the first three Resident Evil games are the definitive zombie games, they were immersive, grim as fuck, filled with difficult puzzles to solve, and just had a sense of realism to them. Games like Left 4 Dead got too silly.

Damnit, why can't these turd-brained developers make a good zombie game? The only thing most gamers want is a polished zombie simulator that allows them to play the way they want to. Create a game with three locals; rural, town, and city, so people can choose something that reflects them more. Let them create a character and specify their physical fitness and psychological characteristics. After that, just let them be in charge of how they progress and get better at surviving.

I dobut we will ever return too that state Hostel I think this is the best we will get. Those that do have that idea don't usally have the means or money to make it, or make it good enough to profit or get it known and well fit and working.

Silver Knight

One thing i can declare right now. The weapons lack durability which makes realism go poof. She threw a spiked club at an explosive barrel and got it back...

I have mixed feelings. I don't agree with Hostel how the location is something I can't relate to because I actually kind of can however, the unrealistic weapon combos do really turn me off from the game. An explosive knife just baffles me. I think Dead Island is trying to go for a Dead Rising silly combo weapons feel however, Dead rising is supposed to be a silly game so the silly weapons fit in really well. Silly weapons in a serious game just doesn't quite fit in.

You are asking for realism in a game with ZOMBIES. Makes sense. And they never said " we're serious shit "

I think game developers have been taking drugs lately.
I can't remember when is the last time I played a good game.
It all seems lately that it's about HUD clutter and graphics.
They don't even look at how the story doesn't make sense, or some other parts in the game.
Immersion is completely lost to the games. It's coming to a point where I'm begining to find gaming, boring.

Zombies running , that's just. Fail. I've always thought of it like that and it will always be like that.
Even tho I do like L4D somewhat, however Resident evil 1-3 had the definision of the real immersive zombie game.

Chrono

I dont like it...I agree with dug and hostel, running zombies ? no, why cant they bring back the RE 1-3 zombies it was much better, those games were amazing.

The developers are taking drugs or maybe its because of the massive ammount of kids on consoles that only care for graphics and shit like that ( see CoD series after CoD 4)

Devs don't have to make that so only you will enjoy the game. You can't please everyone.
They won't bring ideas from old games because it won't make any income. Playerbase < $$$
Blake.H: And im also working on whipping him into shape
Blake.H: He's nice
Blake.H: He doesn't moan
Blake.H: The sheer obedience is enough to fuel my erection anyway

Unless your an MMO. That's a whole different formula on making money. You have to feed the playerbase in order to make money.

But,  I too am actually getting to the point like Dug where the new video games are boring me because I don't see anything new in the market. We have to thank Activision for being the role-model of how a game company can make millions of moneh. Step 1: Make a succesful game. Step 2: Make sequels every year w/ little to no changes to the multiplayer. Step 3: PROFIT!!!! The good news is most gamers are seeing through this including casual gamers when CoD BO was released. It is exactly the same shit as WaW. Bungie broke away from Microsoft because they don't want to keep making halo all the time.  There are still glimers of hopes out there.

Although I agree with this post.
I am into that whole arcade cluttered screen type of game. The main thing I like is how it reminds me of borderlands, I'll probably buy this game in a year, Because I have left for dead and it's not as interesting IMO.
I don't prefer those.. Intense scary realistic games, I prefer the shoot 'em up zombie games. If you know what I am saying.

I'd prefer for a balance of those horror and shoot zombaws games, and I wonder if there will be psychos in Dead Island.

No offense to the first couple resident evil games, yes they're great, grim and fun...but puzzles in a police station and that liking? No, it's not realistic, and not being able to knock down wooden doors instead of using a key on a door that's obviously just held by a key locK? But good all in all.
