What Features Would You Like To See In RAD2?

Discuss what you would like to see in RadiationScript 2 here, as id like to get a idea of what you HGNer's want the most, and to see if any good idea's appear which i have not thought of.

Radiation, and Radiation poisoning so if stalkers wander into radiation (Or a area highly radioactive) they go BLAH ... Suits would affect this...?

More developer access so it's easier for the dev team to fix stuff that needs to be fixed.

Oh, and possibly more items. I can hex stuff for weapons if you need them. (Idc if it's easy, just so you guys don't need to bother with it.)

Anyways, some better VGUI/HUD would be nice too.

Don't know if you ment this or not but if we could use suits while in inventory. It'd help to avoid the rare newbie steal. Just a small convenience that'd be nice to have.

It'd be great if you could modify armors a bit, such as giving the sunrise suit a little bit of armor so people would wear it.  It'd also be nice if you could increase protection on the French Merc suits and the German Merc suits, since I assume they'd be better than the default one.  I also think the Freedom flags could be edited.  It makes no sense that the Freedomer flag spawns with AK's when Freedom uses all NATO weapons.

Original skins for all factions, like DUTY and freedom have the CS skin with different colours, maybe implement another skin for it to abolish the CS ones.
Of course, it has to be doable.
Weapon add-ons, such as adding SUSATS and grenade launchers (Preferbly Donator only).
And weapon sounds... so we can hear when we are being shot at, dont know if you have already worked on that.

How about, a setting for if you die you would go into a wounded animation, for Role play instead of just ... dieing and respawning. You could turn it off/on according to your preference. Also if some one gave you a med kit in this state you would be healed?

I definitely think we need to be able to keep the guns that we have out equipped, in case of a server crash.

Also, I believe that faction suits, giving out 200 armor, should be nerfed to 150 armor or 175. At the moment, they are a bit ridiculous.

I think that SKAT6 Military suit should be buffed, at the moment, it only gives 230 armor, and that sucks pretty hard. Perhaps 350 armor?

Yeah, I'll support this idea. It would be good for the Injury RP-s. When you lose all your health, Then you fall down on the floor for... 5 Minutes? And if noone helps you with a command like /Cure or something, or a medkit. Then You die.

Tranq guns, would be great for RP but should be quite expensive.

Would get rid of all the times someone asspulls a tranq to knockout a sucker and results in mega flamage and OOC spamming

-A new, more attractive HUD. Maybe the one Tund ripped?

-Weapons' accuracy correspond to their actual performance in the Stalker games. This mainly concerns accuracy. Older weapons like Kalashnikovs, and less accurate weapons like SMG's and pistols have their accuracy reduced. I mean, I sniped someone with an AK-74u, those things should have low-medium accuracy!

-Weapons' accuracy increases when you use Iron-sights / scopes, as seen in Kermites swep packs.

-Shotguns have the option to switch to either Slugs or Buckshots, as seen in Kermites shotgun swep pack.

-Make the unused Mercenary models into suits. It's a shame to see those awesome models go to waste.

-A Weight limit in your inventory (?)

-PDA System, where you can make your own Biography, and view others' biography, along with viewing item information in detail (Not sure if this is possible.)

I referred to Kermite's weapons packs to show it has been done and that it is possible.

I have some weapons built off of someone elses, I dont know if I wana redo the animations for guns.

I AM going to do models when I have the chance (As it is easier if it works like I want it to.)
I have a few different models to work with, but I wana get it so that they use ONE model and many skins, saving space and resources for those who dont have the ram.


Now for my suggestion, if possible, making some kind of map bases thing that is like env_firedamage = (lets say...) 50.

Then say you have a seva on
evn_firedamageresistance = 70(%)

So fire bases stuff would do 30% dmg to that seva, mean while a rookie jacket has
env_firedamageresistance = 0(%)

Things that dont USE armor but reduce damage and damage amounts, cause that would be awesome not seeing "144%" in my corner then BAM even though I am in an exo, I still take damage when that is gone -_-

Something that will take longer to get out, but can be modded and have more added later in time, this being upgrades, suits, guns and other stuff (knives o-O)

Some stuff, I realize that the more dedication I give to models the better they will be, but I know what I have to do and plan spending my entire Christmas break doing one thing only: Models (RAGDOLLS) and maybe some textures too >_> ... meaning non faction suits. . . like wearing a Wind OF Freedom, but has no Freedom tags on it (I plan on adding small bands based on the multiplayer but not to the extent where they glow, cause that would make you too easy to spot and shoot. THere is my ideas/plans/hopes enjoy... my head is on a slant

I suggested making the CS hud to silver, his reply was CS sucked.

Easy way to fix the guns is to make them do more dmg on head shots and stuff like that, but still have a curve.

Or make mercs faction based >_>

Its possible, Like, it would be in your inventory, you right click on it and edit it, i have all the boxes and resources needed, MAN I WISH WE HAD A LARGE DEV TEAM

"Kermite's weapons packs" was my base for my sweps that I made, Ill fix them later and make a video, dont have many done though, around 15 I think (including special ones like the fort 15)

You can remove your own posts, and also CS did suck, but if the inventory screens where on the opposite sides then the inventory screen would be a bit better then SoC's, excluding you not seeing yourself and what not.

STOOL that allows admins to set an area of effect and damage per second or so. That way we can make our own radiation zones manually if necessary.

Factions actually having their basic needs... Explanation times!

Freedom - Weed, Music???, New Equipment (Maybe Binoculars?)

Monolith - Actually has Psychic Power - mojo... :P (Not saying let them be all powerful, Just a swep or something for effect)

And so on, Since I have not played the game, I don't know if any other factions have specialty things.


FURTHERMORE, A weather system (Could probably include blowouts) For either admins only or Time-based.

Day-Night Cycle (Trust me, Theres one on Garrysmod.org if you really don't want to make one)

More Interactivity (Tying up, Bomb setting, maybe messing with guns)

Weed would just be .. 'abused', and wouldn't be used for Rp purposes. I can just see lots of people using Weed and running around like morons.

Monolith - No, no special powers. A gauss gun, maybe.

I've talked to SK about adding a weather system, and he said he will most probably add it in RadScript two.

Day / Night cycle? Maybe add day / night versions of the map.

Adding stuff to sweps I think is impossible, unless it automatically comes with the SWEP, like a silencer. You can MAKE Sweps with special addons, but can't alter weapons in-game so they have an addon.

Theres  a mod for the original stalker that adds overlays (By which i mean solid black panels) for the suits.
It's used to mimic the eyewear each suit as, which is where i got the idea from.

P.S. Seva has the best view....

All I am saying is that, Units Such as Spetnaz would use this in Close quarters, sure its a open enviroment, yet there a small towns where this could come use fall, I know its not CSS but then again, you might aswell say since its roleplay why do you need firearms or a suit, not to mention a inventory?  Its just a idea, I have a wide knowlage over the STALKER universe.

-If you have your weapon un-holstered, and you sprint, animations take place so it looks like sprinting in Shadow of Chernobyl. (Weapon held close to chest, to the side, etc.)

I said this on a different thread, but I was thinking of the trader feature in the game. Now this is just a thought, but would be cool. Now this feature might already exist in some way, but instead of having all the traders, who have the ability to sell every single item, possibly have just traders for factions, that would only sell items their faction uses. Now im not saying that freedom sells bread, and duty sells sausage, I'm saying that certain faction would sell their gear. In SoC, Freedom usually used 5.56 rifles ( l85, l8000 rifle ect ) and duty usually used 5.45 rifles (ak-74, AN 94, ect) I think doing this would be more realistic for the game. Also, If one trader is on, and one is off, they still all sell the same stuff. Now in the zone, i bet all the traders are not available everyday. So if the freedom trader is gone one day, but the bandit trader is here, you would have to settle with their equipment, and maby their prices. In my eye this makes sence, sure stalkers sell stuff to the trader, he fixes them back up, and sells them, but what if he needs something no one has, he would leave, and go find it himself  making it so the traders are not always their (Reality they would just be offline, and a different trader from a different faction would be on.) Please comment on my idea.

This can easily be enforced with basic rules.
No need to create lots of different trader variant flags.

Well, I found this, very interesting, thought from another person. Its called a /describe system where if you look at a prop, lets say "BEWARE OF DOG" sign, and type /describe (Description) then the printed words will pop out from the prop. For example, if there were monolith lurking about and you don't want other stalkers to die, you'd find a prop and type /describe Warning, Monolith. Or somthing along those lines to warn another player of soon-to-be death.

Instead of having just one inventory, make it so that you may have backpacks and other add-ons to increase inventory spacing. If your just a lone-ly stalker you might have a Backpack slot, Left/Right Pocket Slots, ect. And for a Exoskeleton you might have many different types of slots you can get into.

Give Ecologists to "Sell" artifacts only from their inventories like traders so the ecologists can buy artifacts and sell them without loss of cash.

Thats all of my ideas for now..

I think the extra space idea would be good....you know like some sort of storage system...probably be a bit hard to make....
I'm talking about a sort of like, bank for your items. There'd obviously be consequences to using it like you'd have to pay for it. I know it's probably hard to even make, because it has to keep track of items even when the person's off the server. Just an idea.

But then the creator of the prop will have to stand next to it and constant write the same /it everytime someone is near.
If not, it just looks like a prop.

This /describe would be useful, for stuff like Trader pricelists, signs, hazard signs, corpse descriptions; all sorts!

Admins have more control. Not to be power hungry or anything, But I am talking about a who killed who situation... Everyone wants to blame everyone except themselves, And admins never can tell who it is unless they were there at that moment, maybe even see what their inventory is or something.

It would be neat to see weapon condition for the guns and gear, and when it breaks its unusable.

I think that would end up more of an annoyance Goose.

You ever play STALKER well if you have then you would know it is, but the point is to make it seem like stalker this would give you more of a fear in combat that your gun could jam or break on you in the middle of a fire fight.

I've played all three don't worry. What I'm saying is, this would end up something like hunger mod or something like that. They do it well in Stalker, but here...it probably wouldn't turn out good.

How about an admin system that doesn't ban the wrong player, and saves permabans into a mySQL database so that bans don't disappear on server restart.

Suggestion: Don't add stats to characters, but add stats to suits and weapons showing resistances to damage and amounts of damage dealt; it doesn't even matter if it's just for show it will still add characteristics to suits and weaponry.
