At first the music was okay, nothing too different and it was kind of cool to hear background music, after a while though I installed my ingame MP3 player so I could listen to some music of my own, only to have it interrupted and replaced with the map music... Right now I'm tearing my hair out from listening to it, any way to stop the music so I could play my MP3s?

Stopsound
Personally I liek the music, its either listening to that or listening to the STALEKR soundtrack :F No difference really
I saw somone say that Stopsounds dosnt work, that they typed it and the sounds started ten secons later.
It "Doesn't" work because it keeps replaying even after you stop it. Either three or five minutes later.
Use an out of game mp3 player and just have the volume over powering the in game music.
Well the sound in my opinion is pretty good, but if the sound is bugging you turn down the in game music volume and keep the effect sound at normal. I think that could work.
This is what i would do
Goto C:\program files\steam\steamapps\(USERNAME)\garrysmod\garrysmod\Sounds\Hgn\music and delete all the music with the starting name "Background"
Can't say it will work but its an idea
I think it will redownload the music..
I think so, you'd have to make a clientside lua that blocks out that sound, and I dont know how to do that. at least you have the directory.
Someone mentioned a console command you could use to stop the loop, but I totally forgot what it was.
How to remove it:
Go to:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\<SteamUser>\garrysmod\garrysmod\sound\hgn\stalker\music
Copy 'background1.mp3', delete 'background2.mp3', paste the copy and rename it 'background2.mp3' (Without the ' )
Background1.mp3 is the very first song you hear in Stalker ShoC, it's a nice replacement.
Edit: This works.
Thnx Slim.
That seemed to fix some of it, thanks.
