Economic Overhaul Suggestion

The "Regarding STM/STK" topic sparked this idea of mine. When the artifact spawning was glitched back in...whenever that was, the server did not seem to suffer all that much. New players could quickly make some money and have something to do, old players could finally become wealthy enough to afford some of the "uber" items they've been saving up for and it seemed like more people were running around in STALKER suits playing as loners instead of immediately joining a faction so they could get gear and a paycheck. Athough money might have flowed too freely to really simulate the Zone's actual economy, I think it was actually more fun to play when this was going on. Now that artifacts have all but dried up there are once again almost no Loners to be had since they don't get any money.

My suggestion is this: give everyone a paycheck. Since my last suggestion about artifact spawn time went no where I figured this might be easier to code. Have donators get a bigger paycheck than normal loners and have loners get a paycheck of like 100 rubles. That will allow people to actually play as loners and will help keep the money flowing to loyal players who might spend hours on this server and not get anything to show for it since jobs are so few and far between.

To anyone who says "Lol who writes these paychecks in the Zone" shut the fuck up. Sometimes realism needs to take a backseat to gameplay and I think this would help retain players since they would be gaining money instead of sitting in the server praying for a job.

To balance out this new wealth implement a tier system for traders (there already sort of exists this in how current prices already are). Everything up to a certain tier would be available for anyone with rubles, no questions asked. That way more and more players who have been on the server for a while can buy their STALKER suits and AKs/LRs/AN94s and stop looking like they are brand new to the server. After that tier would be the high end stuff like Exos, Sevas, FN2000s, G36, upgraded AKs, etc. To purchase this stuff you must apply for it on the forums in addition to having some obscene amount of cash and the application would be made difficult enough to prevent everyone from flooding the server with Exos.

And then on top of the application, have their be a cap to how many of this top tier stuff can be in each faction, IE only 3 exos per faction, only 5 FN2000s, etc. That way not everyone has an Exo. To further encourage donation we could say Loners cannot have an Exo unless they have experienced flags or above or something similar to prevent a flood of Exo loners from walking around.

I think this would help a lot with the STK argument since no longer would money be uber scarce. (I would also argue for not dropping ANYTHING when you die). What does everyone else think?

I think this is a good idea, right now everyone is shit poor and fights never happen because people are scared of losing their items, even when their lives depend on it.

Honestly, what was good about the old server was that events were made constantly. Bloodsucker's were rare so you had to run in there with a group of loners, get the artifact, and run out as your buddies are dying all around you and you just have your AK. Or when I played the role as a hostage and people came to save me and there was a random sniper defending the house (admin controlling event) etc, these things happened at least every four days or so. It made the server so incredibly interesting. Money actually wasn't a problem, fifteen thousand roubles for this bloodsucker body here, etc. Gives you enough to go buy a Groza and perhaps die the next event, lose it, but there's more events to go play with your trusty AK. If events don't happen and money doesn't flow freely, I completely agree with your statement Paintcheck. I just wanted to point out a solution that could help us.

Events are great and it would be nice to have more of them but as school starts to wind down and the admins have finals it becomes harder and harder to put together grandoise events, especially now that Silver wants Events to come out of admins' own pocket and not just from spawned items. Upping the pay would take less effort and would work with or without admins which is why it is the simpler solution in my opinion.

100 RU paychecks would be sweet, It would boost loner population that dosn't wear Rook jackets, AND reduce the amount of lolfactioneers who join a faction for the sole purpose of the paycheck rather than accually RPing in a faction. I Will admit though that when I was new to SRP I was a "lolfactioneer" and I mainly joined freedom due to the fact that being a loner sucked cause the best thing you could afford would be pistols/weak shotties. I'd also like to see a normal "Bandit" or "Mercenary" flag that dosn't recive free weapons, but still makes the same amount a normal loner would thus eliminating the "lolbandit" Steryotype That is if the 100 RU paychecks get put into place.

Oh boy.
Strap yourselves in, it's time for the great 'obligatory' SRP resurrection of 2013/14/15/16/22

Why would events have to come from admin's pockets if we haven't even had events for months...

Artifacts are spawning randomly atm. Once every 1-3 hours.

What a lie..

Artifact prices seem a little low.
I sold A goldfish in the trader menu because I wanted to know the price.

It sold for 500 Rubles, meaning it only cost 1000 rubles.

To explain the artifacts:
Previously artifacts were only admin spawned, and had random prices assigned to them. Some where worth 30000 in the sell menu, some were worth 50 rubles. Most of them did things like removing all your armor, and were entirely worthless. At the moment, all artifacts work. They spawn every 1-3 hours assuming there is more than 10 players in the server. They spawn by choosing a random anomaly and placing themselves there. When all the artifacts spawn, the damage anomalies also choose new locations (since damage anoms are also randomly spawned.) Generally, when the damage anomalies change spots you should go searching for artifacts. Also note that they are invisible unless you are right by them, so finding artifacts is actually difficult now.

Well I think reason why arfiacts arent worth much is that no one has any money.

Events shouldn't come form admin money. Money should be Spawned to every player, not be transfered.

I know it's 'less realisticx'but I quote PK on this;

Seriously, if your going to spout out 'REELIZM' constantly instead of going for consistancy, then go LARP with your 'friends' in the woods, or go find a local LARP group. You can argue realism with nerf swords till your balls turn blue.

I like the idea, except for the whole 'Everyone has a supply tab' thing. Taking out traders would lose a lot of RP and it's always better to find a trader anyways.

I dont think everyone should have a supply tab like before. I think maybe adding paychecks would be alright just to add a little bit to economy.

Artifact prices should go back up, I rarely see them, and find that a Fireball sold for $300. It's not even worth looking for them.

Don't sell them in the trader menu. Its meant as a ROCK BOTTOM PRICE. It is NOT the standard price. Artifacts actually work right now, and work quite well for that matter. Try selling them to players that might actually use them. Its pretty well known ICly that certain characters have lots of money, so try selling to people like them.

Flashes don't work they just read "I am bugged" , the pay check thing is a good idea, and for the weapon teir's say this was implimented what would happen to the people who are stalkers and have an Exo but For flags it wouldn't be fair to just remove something they have worked hard for and then have it removed only to be told you have to donate for flags of you want to use the Exo

The tier system will probably not be implemented, the paycheck ideas have been tossed around, but instead the decision was reached to re-add artifact spawning (which has been on for a while now and at a steady rate.) Any flash that is spawning from the script should be the fixed version, if you still have a broken flash just get rid of it because they were accidentally broken on purpose.

I haven't seen any artifacts since you guys 'fixed' the spawning.
Well, I've seen one, but I didn't find it, a stalker sold it to me.

That is because you only see artifacts when you right next to them. They spawn, but only when there is more than ten people in the server. Try actually hunting for them, as they don't normally spawn in the middle of a road.

I've seen one, but it disappeared and i couldn't find it again

Wouldn't it make sense to make a device like in stalker to detect artifacts?

So to get this straight, you guys are complaining that there are not enough artifacts/ you are unable to find them, and you want me to add an item that makes it so you need to spend money just to find a single artifact.
