In-Character Information

Name:
Gavril Kuznetsov Zimyatov

Age: 20

Skill set: Marksmanship, Covert Operations

Backstory: (Three paragraph minimum) Senior Soldier Zimyatov, as he was known in the Ukranian military, was a sniper who served in the Ukranian military up until last summer. He was shipped to The Zone some time last year, and despite such brief time in the service, he has accomplished much. He has participated in multiple operations against major factions and bandits in the Exclusion Zone, and has even been granted special privileges to embark on a brief lonewolf reconnaissance mission around The Zone. His objective was to seek out the remains of a small civilian jet that had accidentally flown over the Exclusion Zone, and was shot down by Shilka mobile Anti-Aircraft Artillery. However, it was on this mission that Zimyatov found a new perspective of The Zone.

He was wearing his military uniform on this recon mission, an act he knew to be dangerous, but he wanted to maintain the camouflage it came with. He had successfully reached the downed airliner during his mission and begun an investigation of the wreck, finding no bodies, which indicated either the victims had been eaten by mutants or they were still alive somewhere. However, some other STALKERs were also approaching the wreck to investigate. He managed to get behind them and apprehend them at first, but he wasn't here to take prisoners, and spoke briefly with the STALKERs in a calm and civilized manner to explain his mission. The STALKERs were not used to such behavior when dealing with the military, so they were pleasantly surprised by his politeness and understanding of their hardships. Zimyatov was always the quiet type in his group, only speaking when spoken to or when he had to say something important. He did his best to obtain information from the STALKERs but they knew little about the plane crash or the lost passengers, speculating they were likely already lost to The Zone.

STALKERs weren't the violent monster criminals that the military had tried to make him believe. He had given them the benefit of the doubt, and found out that STALKERs are indeed still human beings. Although Zimyatov had the upper hand in their first encounter, there were multiple occasions where the STALKERs could have easily shot him. He never disarmed them after all. How could he? One of them was in an Exosuit, and even without such armor, how was he going to demand two STALKERs to drop their weapons? They seemed to sympathize with Zimyatov's mission and even escorted him a brief distance through The Zone back to the outskirts of his base where they parted ways. He never saw the STALKERs again, but made a mental note to spare their lives should they end up in his crosshairs by chance.

He also participated in assassinating the leader of the infamous Skulls bandit gang. Though close quarters combat was not his thing, and thus he could only play a supporting role when the military attacked the abandoned home that the Skulls were hiding out in, he was however responsible for tracking the bandit leader to their safehouse. The bandit leader was ultimately killed, and his exosuit was broken down and scrapped, but it was in this operation that Zimyatov earned the Order for Courage, as did others in his unit. However, Zimyatov also witnessed the brutal death of one of his good friends who was killed in the operation. His commander seemed to just be aimlessly sending them to slaughter. Normally Zimyatov does not dare speak out of rank, but in this instance he did, recommending several times that they simply set a perimeter and call in an Mi-24 Hind to simply level the house.

After this operation, he began having serious doubts about the commanding capability of Ukrainian military officers. He felt they were in it more for the glory at times than what may otherwise be the wisest tactical decision. Perhaps it was because of how The Zone was viewed by the military. Zimyatov had learned enough of The Zone through overhearing the Ecologists to understand it was a living, conscious entity of its own. Not a landscape to be conquered. After a few more poorly executed operations in the military during last summer, one of which was committed against Duty, Zimyatov was separated from his group. His mission was to provide sniper support. He had a high ranking Duty officer in his crosshairs, waiting only for the order to pull the trigger. When enemy reinforcements approached, he requested permission to fire, but was openly denied. The Military commander wanted a firefight! And for what? The damn glory of it?! The firefight quickly went bad and the military was forced to retreat, and despite keeping his crosshairs on the enemy commander at all times, his obedience for orders prevented him from firing. He was ordered to fall back.

During his attempt to flee, he was injured by an anomaly, not seriously, but enough that he could not retreat with his men. Duty caught up with him. By now he was sitting quietly on a log, sniper rifle in-hand, and bandages on his left leg, and his military patches cut off of his uniform now sitting in the mud. Three Dutiers, including the officer whom he could have shot earlier, all approached him. Zimyatov simply sighed to himself. Without being asked, he removed the clip from his rifle and unchambered the round to hand the weapon to the Dutiers. "Imprison me if you wish, or let me go, or kill me and get it over with, but whatever you do I'm not going back to them," he told the Dutiers. Confused by his statement, the officer asked what he was talking about. Zimyatov explained his mission. "We were supposed to attack Duty base. It was never explained why. My job was to provide sniper support. I had you in my crosshairs and was directly denied permission to fire." The officer didn't believe him. Surely, any good sniper would have taken the shot if what he said was true, but Zimyatov proved his words by pointing out the tower where the enemy officer had been standing during the firefight. Astonished by this evidence, the Duty officer asked; "Well why didn't you kill me? Or are you just a lousy shot?"

Zimyatov just chuckled, "I'm an excellent shot, sir, but I was just following orders."

Zimyatov was later taken into custody by Duty for a time, where he spent most of his time in a prison cell between September and November. His sniper rifle, sidearm, and knife were all confiscated and gone elsewhere in Duty. However, talks had begun between Zimyatov and Duty. His resentment for what the military's commanders had done to him had left him as a soldier without a cause. Spending so much time in Duty captivity, he learned of their morals and their goals, and began to sympathize with their efforts. He requested to be allowed to defect, either as a Senior Soldier or as a regular Soldier.

The military has long since forgotten him. According to military official records, Zimyatov is KIA. Either out of embarrassment or out of neglect for paperwork, his commander wrote him down as a casualty of war rather than a missing soldier. Zimyatov figured this out because no one ever bothered to come looking for him, and Duty had commented on it many times. Instead, he's a dead man walking. This only furthered his resentment for military commanders who would rather mark him as deceased rather than say he's missing and imply that he should be rescued after their foolish operations. It's likely that his old commander could look him dead in the eye and not even recognize him.

Today Zimyatov is still sitting in his cell, waiting for approval or denial of his appeal to defect and join Duty. He would very much like to be a marksman again, but knows he must prove himself, and his loyalty, before they trust him with such duties again. Only time will tell. Zimyatov's family already thinks he's dead. He has no life to return to. It wouldn't make very much difference if Duty decided to execute him instead. The military would just mistake him for a STALKER and kill him if he tried to return to them.

For now, his life, and his purpose, is now at the mercy of The Zone.

Faction Related Information

What is Duty?: A group of STALKERs and former military who seek to destroy The Zone.

Why do you wish to join Duty?: Was my backstory not clear enough? I want a faction with some purpose. The military didn't have that purpose.

Who is the DUTY leader?:
Gonztah is all I know.

Roleplay Knowledge

Describe Injury RP: Didn't I describe it above? Zimyatov got injured. He had to bandage up his legs, couldn't run away from combat, and was captured by Duty. Well although this didn't actually happen and I just asspulled the story, that's how injury RP would go.

What is Metagaming: Using OOC knowledge ICly.

What is Metaspeak: I actually didn't know until recently. It's when people use dumbass terms like LOL and OMG and other stupid abbreviations. I have a habit of using smiley faces but I never use them in serious RP.

Describe RDM: LOLOLOL *shoots people for no reason*

What is the difference between RDM and STK: STK serves a purpose to RP, is usually agreed OOCly by both parties, and is a fair competition of FPS capabilities. RDM is just shooting them without warning and without reason.

Can you take responsibility for your actions?: Yes.

-Accepted as a soldier, good backstory. Although you misunderstood the "Recommendations" part but that really doesn't matter.
Welcome to Duty

Backstory: (Three paragraph minimum)
"This is like confession right? Since you used to be priest before going into Zone right? Yeah, its okay, I dont mind explaining to your god why I did what I did. At least he could make me trip over some fancy artifact tommorow, right?
So... Born and raised in Ovruch, its west from Chernobyl, its not exactly close, but yeah, you could get there in matter of hours with a car I guess. I used to study forestry... usefull? Hahaha, not really, it was one those school where everyone went only to not do anything. I remember how we used to plant pines in tree kindergarden and how some tracks or shi-- I mean feces looked like. Instructor, went to us once and was like, guys I lost wallet with 500 rubles. All of us ran in every direction only to laugh at us saying that we arent such lazy brats after all. I guess he was right, I was never lazy, I just... didnt cared about most things.
As a person with almost no knowledge or skills I tried to open a business, a bar. "Three witches" but regulars started to call it Three bitches and almost nobody remembers its real name today. It used to be on edge of the city, once in a while lads from Ovruch air base came and had several drinks and smoked few packs when they had chance, sometimes few edgy fellas came there and bought several bottles of various alcohols and left, but I mostly had there my regular customers, most of them were somehow related to forestry, yeah that school was good for one thing after all. When they heard that Kuzma had bar, they went to check it out and usually became regular customers.
Income was nothing extra, but it was enough. Sometimes I had problem when they found out that I was selling smokes by pieces or that I have been selling booze from one of my friends that didnt had license.
Once there was a interesting situation. Guys from airbase used to sit at one table in corner, I hanged few posters of Su-17s there, because everyone knew that they had metric fuckton of those parked in the base. But this time, those edgy guys were sitting there, just talking with eachother, sometimes drinking cola or beer, nothing strong, they were probably driving or whatever I thought back then. But guys from base came and politelly asked them to sit somewhere else, I tried to explain to them that its kind of reserved for them, but they became offended or mad all of sudden talking about how military is shit and that they should leave them alone. Yeah, yeah, they started to fight, nobody was seriously injured, but it kept bugging me anyway.
Few weeks later, they were back and bought full trunk of strong alcohol and smokes and drank few beers again. I decided to ask one of them that showed up pretty often about whats their deal air base boys and why they keep buying all sorts of alcohol, yet they drink only soft drinks. I guess he wasnt worried that I would tell anyone because he just told me out of the blue that military zone or just Zone around Chernobyl was not there just for show and that several people are living there like modern cowboys, but desert was forest, mountains were garbage dumps and that gold nuggets were some local artifacts. I didnt really knew what he means by artifacts, if some mementos of pre-disaster life, nuclear waste or whatever. He traded contacts with me and told me that he could use more alcohol, smokes and if possible cans of food or MREs in the future.
I was glad, the more they bought, the better. I dont know why they never went to mall, probably because they wore fatigue jackets, military vests and other clothes for walking in woods. Maybe they just didnt liked crowded places, to stand out too much or maybe they were wanted by police. I wish I would have asked back then.
Huh? How I got into Zone? Welp, thats really unpleasant story. Business started to stall, heard from several reliable sources that they want to close my bar for few laws, like selling smokes by parts you see, nothing big but there was several on them so it pilled up. I have overreacted back then and few weeks later I closed my bar as usually and grabbed jerry can with gas, poured it all over my bar and lit it on fire. I had that place insured so I wanted to scrap some good money, nobody would have bought that old shack, they would have wasted too much money on reconstructions and such. Took my car back home and felt asleep in front of television, I woke up before daylight, took bath to wash out that gas smell and had some breakfast, I still had some borscht left while watching morning news. Man, I wish I had some borscht these days, that was the last time I had one, but anyway. My bar was of course in news, they mentioned some explosion because of gas or propane tank or something that injured two firefighter, I was glad that it was nothing serious, but still felt guilty for not making sure that I didnt left anything dangerous there. I called for my insurance after few days, but they said that they are investigating it and if I could wait few more days. After several days of just sitting in my house and not going outside my friend called that they suspect me for causing that fire. I knew that insurance fraud, starting fire and injuring two people is enough to lock me in the jail for helluva lot years in jail.
I packed most important stuff into the rucksack and called that edgy guy from before if he could take me with them to the Zone. He asked me why, but I told him that I got into some trouble and if I could explain it later. He agreed and at the same day, I was sitting in Tatra with few other people, he unloaded us near some village that belonged to Freedom, he gave us basic info about the Zone and gave each one of us Makarov with three clips and- oh really, its not... okay, then three magazines geez and took half of my money as fare.
I didnt liked this place, it was not really Wild West as I expected it to be, or atleast it wasnt Winnetou. Closest person that I could have called friend was shot when he tried to leave Zone to get more supplies for traders. From what I heard, military wasnt happy with bribe and just shot him, but who knows? Maybe he just drove into anomaly or simply crashed.
Of course, I knew about Duty for a long time, but never gave many fucks about them untill I heard a bit more about them. These guys are trying to erase Zone, with Zone gone, Im definitelly going to jail and if... IF they'll manage to erase Zone, Duty will be heroes. I thought that they could even get amnesty for their deeds, hell if I can redeem myself this way, why not?"

Why do you wish to join Duty?: It used to be the least liked Major faction and everyone (Including me) always tried to sabotage them one way or another just because Freedom were more bro. Roleplay Knowledge

Describe Injury RP: Behaving according to injury, depends on the severity. Also seeking out medical help instead of just ignoring it, hopping that nobody will give two fucks about you being shot in artery two minutes ago.

What is Metagaming: Using IC informations that you gained from OOC sources. (A: "Hey B, C wants to fuck you up outside of bar." B: "LOL, lets wait for D to come before I'll leave the bar then!")

What is Metaspeak: Using emoticons, shortcuts or "l33t sp33k" ("lol u wot m8, I aint selling u mah AK 1k u scrublord")

Describe RDM: Attacking character for none or OOC reason (Doesnt matter if done through /me's or STK, it doesnt matter how you attack that guy just because you hate him and want him to leave the server.)

What is the difference between RDM and STK: Shoot-to-kill is when both sides agree on using in-game weapons to fire at eachother with purpose of killing (unlike in STM) or if it is allowed in rules (Warning players that military base is STK zone and then complaining in OOC that they were STKed without agreeing.)

Can you take responsibility for your actions?:
Yep.

In-Character Information

Name:
James Kalix

Age: 38

Skill set: Ex-Duty member (military skills), Ex-Duty propaganda team (has a way with communicating with people).

Backstory: (Three paragraph minimum)
James first came to the Zone five years ago where he met Duty and became a member. He lived by the side of his brothers fighting their wars. Duty became his home. James worked hard and became a Corporal where he stood proud.
There was an incident involving two other Duty members, here is a diary extract from an old friend:
" We assaulted a bunker, military was trapped in it. A bandit came down to military, he had an exo, he assisted them. I saw him come down there and the next thing that happened was I got shot in my shoulder after firing some rounds at them. Damned exo, fucking up my shoulder. I dragged my self to a tree seeing Krissina bleeding...dieing. I passed out. I woke up in the medical tent. I've been quickly patched up. Nothing could be done for Krissina. Her kidney has been ripped out.... I couldn't believe. While she was dying she looked at me and I looked at her. We held out our hands and held each others hand. She told me to tell to Boris that he was a good father. I was confused at that moment and I've told her I will and that I will miss her. I watched her die and close her eyes , when she stopped breathing my heart simply died, a cold breeze went through my body.
The last I remember was James constantly standing there and kept talking to me. He was worried. I couldn't believe that this was him. He actually cared about me. He put a bullet in my hand it was a golden one and on it had a writing on it Krissina.
I made a necklace and now I wear it around my neck. To remember her and think of good times. Seeing her die made me wish I died with her. Colonel stepped inside and asked for a report, he was told everything and his face was basically blank. He stepped outside and he never came back.
The stalker...was actually a bandit. The one that dragged me, killed Krissina. James put a nice bullet through his head while he was trying to kill me." - Extract from Stones Diary.

As I shot the bullet I saw more Duty soldiers come for assistance, however they were not coming to save me. They thought I was the one who shot Stone and Krissina as I was standing there with my gun aimed. Bullets fired in my direction I was hit but luckily at the time I was wearing an exo. I talked to Stone before he passed out. My only choice was to run. I fled into the fog.
Long story short, I hid for a few until a good friend "Wolf" found me and returned me to the base and tried to explain things over with the Colonel. Lots of things happened and there was much confusion. The Colonel wasn't happy with everyone at Base and asked who was responsible. I want to ruin anything else for anyone so I took the blame for the situation. The Colonel stripped me of my title and my gear and threw me out like a stranger.
Since then I've tried not to look back. Knowing that It wasn't my fault has been the hardest but I'm ready to start anew. Here I am ready to redeem myself.

In-Character Information

Name: Arthur 'Spectre' Karataev

Age: 23

Skill set: Used to hunt, first aid, firearms training

Backstory: (Three paragraph minimum)
Arthur had been just getting used to life as he saw it before he came to The Zone; family, a house, hunting. All he could've asked for. He heard that there were artifacts to be found in The Zone, artifacts of great value to the right people. Sure his life wasn't that bad before The Zone, but Arthur had always dreamt of something more, something better in life. Greed, desire, a hungering; You can call it whatever you want but he had that driving force behind him. Stubborn or arrogant could be better suited.

Foolish. That was the only word that could describe him. He had heard of The Zone and it's treasures, but he had not heard of just quite how many dangers awaited him. Possibly he'd dismissed the life-saving advice and brushed it aside as if it was nothing. He soon came to a town within The Zone that had a small forward party of DUTY soldiers stationed there. He took into account their appearance, admiring it in some way before he headed to the bar, or what was the equivalent of a bar in this wasteland. There he got talking to some STALKERS who were looking for 'brave adventurers' to go with them and hunt for artifacts, the pay was good for just going out and getting some relic for two, what would seem, drunkards in a bar.

Suicide. That was the only word to describe his choice to go there. He had been paired with another STALKER, nice guy. About his height with dark brown hair, only a few years older than himself. He'd also come to The Zone with the same vision that Arthur had. The pair had reached the point where the artifact was supposed to be. They stepped through the doors, a hollow concrete frame, of what would've been some form of appartments building. The STALKER moved through the doorway ahead of Arthur, making his way a few metres ahead of the door as he fumbled with his belt, searching for his flashlight. THUD, Arthur looked up with his flashlight on to see something cave in the head of his former partner, he hadn't of even made a sound, just fallen to the floor with a steady flow of blood coming from the point of impact. Arthur pulled his makarov, his finger slipping around the trigger as he fired into the darkness, the torches light no longer clear with the flashes of gunfire. He heard a groan and a growl, not a human. In the flashes he saw only one thing, something arc it's way through the air and strike him in the arm. He clutched his arm in agony, a feeling as if it had been pummeled with a baseball bat with a knife stuck in it. He screamed out in pain as he fired the rest of the magazine into the darkness, before turning and fleeing. Just then had he noticed how cruel and unforgiving this wasteland could be, and the sorts of people who would do such things as to get innocents to die for hopes of wealth.

Staggering his way back to town had taken hours and by the time he had arrived dawn had broken. He seeked out medical attention at the town, a doctor patched him up. He had asked about who the soldiers were who had been there the other day, he was told about DUTY and how they stood to destory The Zone and stop those who would bolster it's corruption. He vowed to enlist with them so that he, just maybe, could help them destroy The Zone so that nothing like what had befallen him and his former partner could happen again to an innocent.

Faction Related Information

What is Duty?: DUTY is one of the largest and most prominent factions in The Zone. They are a collective of Ex-Ukranian Military who were left in The Zone to die. They hate those who seek to spread The Zone's corruption and seek nothing more than to defeat the zone.

Why do you wish to join Duty?: I have realised that after a couple of days on the server that roleplaying in a collective will be more fun than roleplaying on my own. I would love to join DUTY as they are a form of 'good' in the wasteland and I would love to be part of an organized collective.

Who is the DUTY leader?: Maj. Yuriy Zelenko

Roleplay Knowledge

Describe Injury RP: It is where IC you are shot or stabbed through a /me emote such as '/me is shot and falls to the floor, clutching the bullet's entry point in a hope to stem the blood loss.'

What is Metagaming: Mixing IC information with OOC information. Such as asking in OOC for someones location then going there ICly. Or obtaining information OOC then using it ICly.

What is Metaspeak: Speaking/Using OOC information for IC purposes.

Describe RDM: Killing somebody without a legitimate RP reason or as revenge for the player killing you. (Also called Revengekilling in that case)

What is the difference between RDM and STK: Random deathmatching is killing without a legitimate reason or without the permission of a real gunfight with the other persons partaking. Shoot to kill is when both parties agree to use of actual guns as opposed to roleplaying the shooting using /me emotes. It tends to be between larger parties such as factions raiding other's bases for gear and supplies. Also community events occur with these rules.

Can you take responsibility for your actions?: I will take responsibility for my actions and accept the consequences inflicted by them.

Good enough I suppose, one week trial as a recruit. Welcome to Duty.

In-Character Information

Name:
Alexei Charkov

Age: 25

Skill set: Can follow orders well and knows his way around many different guns.  He has a silver-tongue people say and can be very persuading.

Backstory: (Three paragraph minimum)
Alexei grew in a small town just east of Chernobyl.  His father was an alcoholic and his mother died when he was only six.  It was hard for Alexei when he was growing up everyone would make fun of him because of his father.  At the time Alexei fell into a small depression and wasn't motivated at all to go to school.  He hated where he was living and just wanted a way out of the town.
One day when he was watching some TV while pretending to be sick.  As he was flipping through the channels he came across an ad about the riches and adventure waiting for people in "the zone".  When he saw this ad he was convinced that this was his ticket out of his current life style.  He watched and stared at the TV screen even though it was just a white and black picture with lots of static.
Alexei went up to his room and grabbed an old Ranger knapsack that his grandfather used during the war.  He started to pack some clothes and necessary accessories that he might need on his trip.  Carefully slipping into his father's room, who was in a deep slumber he went into his closet and pulled out his Beretta.  He quietly slipped back out into his room and packed up the ammo and slipped the Beretta into his pants.
It was getting late and in the distance you could see the sun setting behind the tree tops.  Alexei saw and gazed upon the view as he walked towards the train station.  As he continued to walk he could only think to himself that he was almost free.  Once he got to the train station he quickly got his ticket and boarded the train heading towards "the zone".
Upon arriving he ran into a little outpost that was controlled by DUTY.  He tried to help as much as he could but he wanted to do even more.  Alexei went up to their leader and filled out his application to be a member of DUTY.

Faction Related Information

What is Duty?: A military faction banded together by stalkers to fight the horrors of the Zone.

Why do you wish to join Duty?: I role-played with a few members in Duty and found them able to perform their duties and able to role-play.  I am also looking to join a faction fighting for a cause that I can help win.

Who is the DUTY leader?:
Gonztah

Role-play Knowledge

Describe Injury RP: This is behaving under the right circumstances when your character has been injured.  Such as if you were shot in your leg you would have to RP yourself limping and bandage yourself up to stop the bleeding.  You simply couldn't just sprint away because you didn't feel like RPing it.

What is Metagaming: Metagaming is using Out-of-Character information such as the location of a player and use it to your advantage in-character.

What is Metaspeak: Metaspeak is using shortcuts around saying words or the use of emoticons, Such as "lol, u, m8, y, ect".

Describe RDM: This is random death match which is because walking up to someone and killing them without a good RP reason or the use of Role-play.

What is the difference between RDM and STK: STK is Shoot-to-Kill and is established because of an RP conflict.  It is usually agreed upon by both parties in the conflict.  RDM is just walking up to someone and killing them.  No RP reason and the other person did not agree to the action either.

Can you take responsibility for your actions?:
Yes.

Accepted, recruit one trial week etc. Will add you on roster later.

In-Character Information

Name:
Pylyp "Casanova" Taras

Age: 26.

Skill set: Perfect at reading and guiding for maps. Former guide for STALKERS.

Backstory: (Three paragraph minimum) Hello whom ever may be reading this. My name is Casanova like you read above and this is my history. I was born in the town Odessa and attended schooling for thirteen years. I had stayed back a year in the fourth grade because we moved to Dnipropetrovsk and I had missed to much work. I worked at a tourist booth at a country club for the wealthy men and women to came to stay and come and relax there. I did that until I was about twenty three and I met my wonderful girlfriend (which I still have today waiting for me when I return out of the zone with more cash) named Vitoria Garcia. Shes a feisty Spanish girl but we love each other.

Vitoria and I lived in a medium sized studio apartment, she was working as was I. Honestly people say a lot of things about how everyone is poor here but if you just work, its not that hard. She was a manager at a restaurants and I now became an inspector of lands at the country club to make sure, if one of the government ones came, everything would be in order and no fines or problems would occur. This is where my life got really weird. I'm taking out the trash and I look inside the dumpster and see a metal box with a fancy PDA on top of it.  I pick it up and look at it and grab the suit case. I was thinking to my self "Oh my this could buy us a vacation time somewhere". I go back into my apartment and looks in the brief case. There was a note containing the login to the PDA. What my luck!

The last part of my story before I got here in the zone is as I say soon. I didn't look in the brief case anymore and just logged onto the PDA. I found one message saying "Cheeki Breeki Iv Damke!" and then all this information about a "Zone" near Pripyat with a highlighted trail. There was a bank account with about 49000 rubles inside of it. I transfer that money right away to my credit card, boy you don't know how happy I was to see this. I walked back to the suit case and investigated what else what inside. I found this green clothing with a kevlar vest and a gasmask inside along with boots, at the bottom a Makarov pistol and one clip of ammo. Imminently I shut it after seeing the gun, my girl couldn't see this or she would freak I thought. I knew how to read the map on the PDA and if what else I saw information about this "Zone" was true, me and Vitoria could soon live the nicer life if I bring back money. Well here I am, in the Zone applying for you Dutiers. I hope you chose me. Thanks for reading my story.

Sincerely,
Casanova.

What is Metaspeak: When you use the words "lol, gtg" etc in character.

Describe RDM: RDM is where you kill w/o reason or approval for no reason. Hense /Random/ Death Match.

In-Character Information
Name: Suudar Momed

Age:24

Skill set: Just some basic first aid and improvised weaponry.

Backstory:
Suudar was born in Morocco in 1988 to a doctor and an accountant. Life was relatively easy for the first few years until Suudar's family had to move to Libya, and then Egypt, when business turned bad. Luckily the change was a blessing in disguise because business grew greater than it ever was in Morocco. Life went about relatively unchanged. He was raised in a private school and followed Muslim teaching. Though he slowly swayed away from religion altogether after experiencing firsthand the immense amount of crime in the area. Over time he graduated and started a small teaching job at a local secondary school.

January of 2011. Arab Spring.
The entirety of the Middle East and North Africa was on full blast. Protests occurred and drew thousands into a huge clash that would later cost many lives. Suudar, for better or worse, was caught right in the midst of it. At the time he had moved up to an assistant position at Al-Azhar University, where he made a decent living. As the protests grew hotter, less and less students would attend classes. Eventually he was laid off. Several days went by as he sat at home browsing the internet daily. At first he had no interest in any of the uprisings as he had no issue with the current government, but as he digested more information, something clicked in his head.

February was almost around the corner. And at the corner of one certain street, stood Suudar. Next to him? Legions of protesters. He had engulfed himself into the movement that was making news headlines worldwide. Originally conflicted, he now saw the evils of the corrupt government that caused the immense amount of crime and violence from his childhood. In 2 mere weeks they had been successful, and protests were coming to a close. The Egyptian people would now be able to hold a free and fair election.

Months rolled by and Suudar was unable to go back to his previous job. The students who used to go there were either worn or injured from the protests or did not want to return to their studies. He had moved to Libya to support rebel forces for 25 days, learning some things about improvised and asymmetrical warfare. But as that came to a close, he had nothing to do. What sparked an interest with him was the adrenaline filled adventure of Libya's battle-torn streets. He had heard information of a hazardous but rewarding zone further up, past turkey in the old Soviet bloc. They called it, The Zone.

Name:
Dante Selezniyev

Age: 24

Skill set: Leadership

Backstory: (Three paragraph minimum) Dante Selezniyev was born into a military family. Dante was known as a troublesome little boy, always doing things he shouldn't. His parents thought he would know better but he didn't. By the time he was 10 years old he was shipped off to military school in hopes of being reformed from a troublesome boy into a true military man. Dante quickly learned the ways of military life, he was taught to salute, how to wield a rifle, and how to give orders.

When Dante was 18 he signed up for the military, he was accepted due to their need of armed men fighting for their country. So Dante went to fight for the Ukraine and was taught all about the horrors of war. He quickly rose to the rank of a sargeant in the military due to his leadership abilities and how to boost morale. Dante didn't make many friends in the military due to his harsh behavior, but he was sometimes seen pulling jokes on the lower ranks.

When Ukraine finally didn't have a need for his services Dante quit the military. He soon learned about the zone and thought about how quiet of a life that would be...god was he wrong. Dante soon learned the horrors of the zone, it was like war, only worse. Dante learned about DUTY and decided it was the best course of action in order to rid the world of this infection. He walked up to the DUTY recruitment center and signed up as soon as he heard applications were open.

Name:
Ctislav Cherkisov

Age: 22

Skill set: Medical knowledge, Long to mid range weapon proficiency

Backstory: (Three paragraph minimum)   Ctislav was your average every day stalker in the Zone, making money on his own and gathering artifacts to make it through the average every day; and he still is. There was nothing stalwart about his life outside of this Zone, the average Joe as everyone would say. He lived a quiet life, going to class, going home and getting drunk in a vicious cycle of boredom. So not much can be really said about his life OUTSIDE of the Zone.
While in the Zone, he found things a lot simpler and more enjoyable save for the fact that something was out to eat your face or kill you every now and then. But that didn't seem to bother him too much at first; he figured that places like here it would be a given to have to live this way. Although this was the case to him, he knew that he didn't have to sit down and let it go by unchecked. That was the day when he had heard wind of a faction called Duty that was made to destroy the Zone and keep the evils in check.
It was then he decided that it was a good idea to pack up his things and try his luck to join Duty. He sought after Duty to help them with their cause in the hopes to better the Zone while it still exists. He had hoped deep down that the Zone wasn't destroyed entirely but he thought that the threat outweighed the bonuses. With only a makarov in his pocket and five hundred rubles to his name, he made his way down to their base.

In-Character Information

Name:
Nikolai Lishvic

Age: 30

Skill set: Medic, CQC training, Advanced weapon use training

Backstory:
Nikolai was born in Kiev, to a middle-wealth family, which owned a restaurant. When he turned 18, rather than going to a college or an university, he worked with his family in the restaurant. Five years after turning eighteen the Ukrainian economical crisis started to affect his restaurant. Less and less people came to eat every day.
It all resulted in closing the restaurant, selling off everything in it and then the place where it was situated. Due to the Ukrainian crisis and lack of university or college education, Nikolai was unable to get a job, thus being unable to support his family. After that he thought he may enter the Zone which was all over the news after Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant exploded the second time in 2007. He took his remaining money, bought a makarov with some ammo and a ticket to a rural town near the Zone.

When he arrived he spotted a group of people trying to enter the Zone. He approached them, and heard about a hole in the barbed wire which they could use to enter. Since he had no money left to buy a safe entry to the Zone through a truck. He volunteered to be the first one entering so that he wouldn't pay the leader for the information. They all agreed to get there at 1 AM.

When he got there, some people were already waiting. He eagerly crossed the wire fence, arriving to the Zone. He luckily crossed the minefield without blowing himself up in the process. He hid in the tree line, looking at his acquaintances crossing the minefield. But then a mutant started to howl. Suddenly everyone panicked, making them run frantically to the safe area. Their situation became even worse afterwards. Suddenly a few searchlights have been turned on, illuminating the newest stalkers. The soldiers started shooting at them, more likely to scare rather than kill. Then the mines started popping off. The whole minefield was covered in gore. Out of twenty people, only two didn't become mutant food, including Nikolai as a survivor.

After finding the second survivor, Nikolai went to the rookie village, shocked by such early presentation of Zone brutality. He recovered there, then started learning how to survive in the Zone. After some time he went and asked for a job. He was supposed to look for a courier who didn't respond to his PDA calls. He accepted the job but rested before going there.

Next day, he was moving to the place where the courier was. There he found a rookie who was sucked dry of blood. Nikolai searched the body for loot and the documents, then walked away from the dead stalker, stuffing some papers into his jacket. The journey to the Bar wasn't dangerous for careful Nikolai. He gave the papers and asked for more jobs, and how can he help Duty, which looked like the only law enforcing faction in the Wild Zone. After some time he applied for it.

Few months later, in the command of Demidov, in 85th Cloaked Daggers, Nikolai got himself a reputation of a decent medic. His found love for medicine, willingness and great biology and physics grades back in high school let him learn some basic and then miraculously advanced medicine. Working hard for promotions, he reached the rank of Lieutenant Colonel one day but had to give it up when a more qualified officer came to lead Duty. He got his nickname "Kieck" from an elite Dutier who once resided with the Cloaked Daggers (legit, from a player called Zarrick).

After he gave up his position in Duty, he went out to the Zone as a philantropist with lots of money. He offered his medical services free of charge to stalkers, although he soon stopped it, running out of money. He hadn't forgot one thing though. That he must keep the Outside World safe from the Zone and for that he has to help Duty. Because of that, he applied once again.

Osip Yahslov

Age: 23

Skill set: Engineering, basic marksmanship.

Backstory:
Osip Yahslov was born and raised in Odessa, Ukraine, to a working class family. His father, an Engineer, as his mother, a part-time fast-food worker, were rather young when they had him, his mother 17 at the time of his conception. In his early life, Osip grew rather close to his father, who taught him engineering techniques, passed down to him by his father. In school, Osip preformed rather well, but still dropped out at the age of sixteen to pursue an engineering career with his father.

Yahslov worked under his father as an apprentice for three years. Nineteen at the time, Osip left home for Kiev, to live with his uncle, a graduate of the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. He furthered his apprenticeship under a much more skilled master. For three years, he served under his uncle, before moving to Poltava to create his own business, to follow the example of his father and uncle. Osip was unprepared to run this business, however, and failed to turn a profit for his business, and fell into debt, forced to close down his shop.

Rumors of the Zone reached his ears, while he milled about the streets of Poltava. He set out to make his fortune, after hearing stories of men becoming rich off of, "artifacts," that the Zone held within it. He set out, smuggled across into the Zone by mercenaries for whatever he had in his pockets. He set out into the Zone, empty pockets, with weapon in hand. He spent a year in the Zone, a horrible year. Running scared from mutants and hostile Stalkers. He couldn't leave, he was trapped in the Zone, unable to smuggle himself back across hostile military lines.

He hated the Zone. He wanted to leave, but he was trapped. However, he sought haven with those who shared his ideology. Duty, they called themselves. Fellow Zone haters, who were much more organized. He sought out to join their ranks, to become one of them. He enlisted as a member of the 7th Platoon, a skilled engineer, as well as a disciplined soldier.
