I've made my first step up the ladder.
It's been a hectic day, I've worked alot and made alot, bought an Abakan that I earned by shedding sweat.
I updated the equipment log with the Abakan, good to see that I can keep track of things.
Anyway, I dubbed my new Assault rifle "Longsword", I've got a feeling that rifle will get me far.

Right, quick log on what i've done today:

Helped afew Stalkers take on some military.

Been abit of a pyromaniac (Ill make detail more later.), got payed 700RU for it.

Bought an Abakan. 2100 RU and an AKM down the drain.

Did a job for a trader, got 700 RU.

Ate a Tourist Baguette. (Putting tourist delight with bread has never tasted so good, must add a kobasa sausage next time.)

Made afew more molotovs.

So yeah...

Eh, I got the Flamethrower working now.
I attached the fuel supply, it lasted for afew test blasts, but then fucked up, and emptied itself.
Hrm.. This annoys me.. alot.
For new fuel, im probably going to have to buy some tanks from some trader, I don't know.
Either that, or I spend alot of RU, time and more sweat on changing the fuel entirely, to another source.
Im considering getting some other flammable liquid and put it in a seperate tank, so the flame sticks easier..


Flamethrower aside, I got drunk yesterday to celebrate the basis of it being finished.
Maybe I just broke it in my fucking drunk rambling..
Anyway.. big headache.
Very big..

Not updated this thing for a long time, I forgot I even had this new PDA.
Anyway, I can't be arsed getting used to the functions and crap, so im just going to record TODAYS events.
I made a new friend, 'Hydra' is his name, a friend of Ra-... 
Oh man, I just remembered what I saw..
Christ, Im going to miss him, he was a good friend.
Anyway, I got my shit together now, I got some decent gear sorted out and im ready to face the zone as soon as I get a suit.
I got 2000RU so far, it's... a fairly decent start in my terms, considering I am rather poor.
I also got my hands on an LR300 now.

So.. yeah.
Tommorow or something, I plan on telling Hydra about... his friends fate.
It's just working up the nerve to tell him.
How is he going to wind up.
Will he kill himself, will he kill ME in anger...
Ugh, this is what the zone does to me, it makes me think of stuff that normally my common sense would sort out for me.
Mind you, in the zone..
Common sense has been turned upside down and torn in half, with the amount of things that have been proved possible, even the previously IMPOSSIBLE.

Reading over what I once typed, I cannot believe how far I have come from when I started out.
First post is one of those that I look back on and think that it isn't me.
So much shit has happened, where to start it all?
Ah, the big fable of Dragon, A stalker who has made friends, killed them through betrayal just for a quick bit of money...
So much to say, so much yet still to do.
Hrm, I almost cannot believe how far I have come from the old days.
I KILLED my friend, so I could get more work.
I got this new uniform, I made new friends with these "Haven" guys who freaking tried to sacrifice me so that they could escape from a poltergiest and ripped me off for a SPAS-12.
I am on good terms with Duty I think, I helped fight off a tark and a bunch of zombies with them, and I will continue to help them as long as they need it, they are a good faction...

I've been having ideas, climbing a building near freedom base in the dead of night, and in red spraypaint, write out a big message that says, "Gecko, fuck you, Im Dragon.".
I told some of my Co-workers who told me about that Freedom guy, just thought I would throw that out there, but realistically thinking, It's a deathwish, although it WOULD be great to pull off.

I've met a good trader, Starnagod or something, he is a good man.
I have not seen him for some time though, it's a real shame, the prices he set were the best of the best, cheapest I know.
Oh, forgot to mention, speaking of traders.
Need to sell my freaking Sunrise, I looted it off of some deadbeat drunk ass bastard.

Thats what the correction is.
Thats the line that motivated everyone to fight on, when the uprising in the slave camp was almost quelled.
The man who spoke those words was a great friend, I had never told him how I had escaped, he had been stuck inside the camp for all the time I escaped the first time.

He wasn't happy to see me after they ended the torture, we were great friends, and I broke a promise.
I broke a fucking promise to a friend, then watched him die before my eyes, in a way that he did not deserve, this is just, depressing.

He had lost all hope in my plans for him, after I had left eariler on in my career in the zone, and started making his own escape plans.
When I was delivered to my cell in the camp, it was all hell.
They were beating me yet even more, the bruises and gashes and cuts of torture ached and stung, I felt like death was coming over me slowly, and I swear I could see it in his eyes, he wanted me dead, there was no going around it.

Then the guards came in, broke up the fight.
They returned everyone to their shackles, oh the shackles, I cannot bear them.
They are against a wall, only against your arms though, luckily.
They put me in the same room of which I escaped from, not as I remember it though, seems more dusty, and there was an odd skeleton that wasn't there some time ago, things change.

Now, I absolutely hate the shackles.
I don't know why, but I just hate being restrained, I just want to break free and fuck up the thing that was restraining me, the feeling of restricted movement just.. goes right through me.
So, they tied me up, and beat me on the spot again.
Oh, the beatings, they would do it relentlessly, with anything they could find.
The stock of their weapons, their arms and legs, bones, if it can be swung, they would hit me with it.
After a while, you forget what the pains of punishment feel like, when it hits you again, it burns, and I mean it.

After a good amount of time, out cold, I wake up to my cell, and try to move my arms.
Of course, I can't, and I started to panic, which leads to me pulling against them.
I never, ever thought that panicking would come in handy, I pulled the chain right from the wallbolt, and was now free with one arm.
A stroke of luck, pure luck..
or maybe just typical, stupid bandits..
They never changed the bolts, they were old and rusted, I broke the other one with ease.

I opened the old trapdoor, and that led me down into the underground of the camp..
Agh, my wounds are stinging and the bruises are hurting, so im going to end that story, for now.

The merc group that captured me were hired by Cobra.
I have no intention of killing them, though, maybe that little rookie asswipe, but messing with the Merc group might be bad.
Heh, I bet Cobra reffered the job as "Slaying the Dragon", the little asshole.

Well this is just fucking great, my PDA has got some pretty fucked up problems.
Right, this feels primitive, everything now feels out of place on the screen.
Damn broken PDA, they are supposed to be waterproof, and this one just goes and just happens to get a broken screen whilst it decides to get leaky.
But, no really, I "Accidentally" broke the screen somehow, I probably got drunk and threw it against a rock, big crack in it, quite literally spreads across the whole screen, looks sort of cool, would be if it worked well infact.

Onto life, Spark was happy when I gave him his new sunrise suit, "For christmas" I said, what a cheap laugh of mine.
Anyway, he finds it's real nice and I like it, makes him happy, makes Defiance happy, makes me happy then, I guess.
Oh, quick note to myself, I think I got to teach Spark that fire is fucking deadly and cannot be controlled, expanding further on the note, he lit himself up with a molotov and burned some of the sunrise suit I got him.
Irritating, to say the least, cost me 15,000 rubles that fucker did.

Oh, yes, I am part of Defiance now, not worth throwing a party for, but it's good to be with my old friends again, and with the newcomer.
I find it a shame that Hydra did not follow in my path, he and I were good friends, god knows why he may of chose to be a mercenary, not an honest stalker like his brother, worse yet, he joined Orion.
I don't like those guys, and I really want to put a bullet through Hydras head now,
Fuck, im just getting angry now, going to turn this thing off, retrieve the memory and then transfer it to a new PDA, that is fit for the zones conditions, if such a thing exists.

Not much to say for today, Spark realised who did his brother in, uh..
Infact, now that I think about it, there was quite abit of activity today.

From the start to the end, It starts off with me walking to the Ecologists to meet spark and sell some Dog's tail, made a quick 250 rubles, returned to base with him.
Met up with Blade at a warehouse shortly after, there was an anomaly, it gave off light, I thought I knew what it was at the time, I took spark outside and explained, but the people in there threw a poor rookie in there, he dissapeared.
Didn't expect that, shortly after him, I followed.
A blowout occured during my transport, and from coincidence, it looked as if I arrived in hell.
Bloodsuckers, about sixteen of them.

I stood for a second, waiting to be swarmed, but I saw the rookie was intact, then I saw that the creatures were asleep, encased in a thick shell of sorts.
For the next 4 minutes, I was the doorman, telling everyone to shut the fuck up and don't touch anything, but of course, there were two who fought the power and now they find that they are in a place supposedly much better than the zone.
Yes, I am talking about HELL.

Heh, Im guessing from the few confused faces coming from the rookies of the bar I am in, they have not met the zone and all it's dangers, just yet.

Right, so, big bloodsucker lair full of sleeping encased shell-esque figures that come alive if you even so much as breath on one.
Blade seemed to know what he was doing, he found a wall, it was significantly weaker than the other ones, darker..
I stabbed it with the crowbar, and it crumbled.
God, I love that thing.

Quickly summing the stuff up now, my turn to be served at the Duty bar.

So much spare time, so little to do.
I just spent today doing afew essentials in the bar and being out and about in Duty.
I got this hunk-a-junk PDA fixed, but it seems to have the safe mode locked in, everything is so much harder to do on this PDA now, ah well.

Going through my past logs on my PDA, I have realised a lot of stuff I have forgotten about me.
The zone has changed me, I used to be a soft rookie who had his own failing scheme, and now, well...
I don't think I can say what I am now, not atleast, not yet.
As time passes on, I will come up for an answer for that, and then I will ponder what I am then.

So much stuff has happened during my time in the zone, so many events, so many key moments, so much death, so much revenge.
How people cope with it, how people live with it, I do not know.
Looking at the consiquences of each action of every man, there is alot more that can happen between every action in the zone.
All it takes is one bullet, and a story can end, or it can change, it can continue on.

Holy mother of god, I probably sounded like a fucked up Freedomer there, stoned out of his mind.
*A loud clash is heard in the background, the ambience of the bar goes silent.*

What in the fuck...

Some loner found my SIG-550, I lost that thing at the swamps.
Bit late, I already bought an SVD to replace the rifle, anyway, where to start on such an eventful day.
Ok, we will start, faction base of defiance, in the bar with Jackal and Spark.

I finally had some decent time to relax, the term use it or lose it comes into play here, too many complications drive people to insanity in the zone.
I was in the bar, cigarette and a beer in hand, Spark was acting rather hyperactive and the bar was filled with music, it was perfect, for me anyway.

The colonel popped in for a visit, had a chat with Jackal, I greeted him, it's been some time since we have seen eachother.
Spark went mad, he was an embarressment to me and Jackal, I took him outside, told him a small story, thought he would belt up.
I generally, told him the idea of use it or lose it, relax or go insane, you need to blow off steam or you will go mad.

We went back into the bar, he grabbed one of Jackals vodkas before chugging it down in a mere 5 seconds, fucking hell, what the shit was wrong with him?
At the time, I had my gasmask off, my face was exposed unluckily, and he threw the bottle at the wall.
It shattered, and it sliced me right across the cheek, it was a rather deep wound.
Scratch one for scars.
Needless to say, he didn't keep his hyper attitude for long, he seemed scared at the moment, I cannot blame him.

I cleared the wound, but then he got hyper again when I lit a cigarette in an attempt to calm down.
He set a fucking table on fire, it spread over time, Razor had to pull it out and injured his hands in the act of doing so.
By now, I was rather pissed with Spark, this was supposed to be a good day where I can just relax, just for a day.

I scolded him, told him to get over his addiction to fire, as a last act, he blew up some gunpowder barrels of his.
It blew up the whole base, everything was ablaze in less than 5 minutes, and a blowout also fucked everything up.
It set off Jackals supplies, a bullet took my left ear off, left it in a damaged state, I think I collapsed and blacked out from the shock of the moment, it punched through my helmet and gasmask.

I remember awaking to a medic, he was treating me for the ear wound that I recieved, Im not going to go into detail on this part however, there is still more to cover, well, later, anyways...

A quick to do list:

I am, or was.. Dragon, the one and only to be in the zone.
Infact, maybe I still am, but rather an embodiment of what I once truly was.
I was like you, reader, once a sane person.
The zone, it is not what you think of it to be.
It twists reality to breaking point, but there is a select few of which it goes past breaking point.

I am one of those few, I fear by the time you have read this, the zone will have driven me to a point of near insanity, or worse yet, I will be within the clutches of the calm madness, eitherway...
Things are not looking good, if you know who I am, I suggest you avoid me in the future, the zone has shown horrors to me, and in those horrors, I see what might be a hope.

I am Dragon, I dubbed myself the name 'Dragon' because it reflected who and what I acted like, but I grew on the name more and more, sooner or later, my name was one of kindness, I had once helped rookies and other people develop into fully fledged stalkers.
I have lost too many a friend, I have revered it as a curse now, it is really getting to me.
My friends all meet their end around me one way or another with the zone.

Is the damnation of hell that is the zone really that cruel?
Maybe it wants something with me.
I will be keeping my alias and my equipment, but I will be starting a new, if you find this PDA, keep it safe, in hopes that the one day that I find it when in a state of madness, I will be able to recover to a state that I once was...

It's unfortunately official, Dragon has been PK'd.

He was killed via a 9x18mm blank round to his head, despite all protection, the round seems to have killed him.

I guess that event and the short period of leaving the zone afterwards, put me into my place, that's for sure, but I am now unable to decipher whether things have taken a turn for the better or not over the past few months.
This whole zone, scattered with Rookies and Mercenary Rookies everywhere!
Everywhere I turn, there is at least one or two.

But, I am reassured by the fact that I have met up with my old friends now, maybe an attempt of leeway can be made to recalibrate my senses to this zone.
I was told 'It's good to have you back Dragon', but in all honesty, is it really good to be back in this hell?

That's a decision I cannot currently make right now, for there is nothing outside the zone that remembers me, the memories have faded, and all that I am is now the Zone, I guess, worth saying that I belong here maybe?

Well, to reiterate, only time can tell.

I found a Sparkler artifact today, lodged by the side of the Military base.
I almost got caught whilst I was getting it, but I was JUST able to leave without much hassle.

Because it sets a dangerous precedent that people can asspull or otherwise whine their way out of PKs which suddenly means people have even less to fear than they already do. Which is why Headcrabs being PK'd or not was such a massive issue in the first place like a year ago when the PK actually happened and was declared valid after a lengthy discussion in the admin forums.

I can tell you I was there when this all happened, infact, I set the whole event in motion after Dragon handed himself over to myself (Gearhead) and I can tell you that he did not asspull any of this what so ever, besides, you weren't even there.

Diary Entry Number One

Well, PDAs broken, that's the end of one generation of technology and onto something a lot more primitive, who'd of thought that this would ever of occurred? Sort of sucks to be honest, I dropped it off of a tower and it smacked into the concrete, little tiny bits of plastic and shit everywhere. Now however, I am writing a book! Well, I am trying to anyway, it's been some time since I picked up a pencil and tried to write something, all this is just an awkward phase that will jutst Just blow over eventually.

I actually feel like drawing now that I have gotten the hang of writing once more, maybe I could spare a few pages of this little notebook and begin to unanimously scribble all over them, I am sure that I will get something that could be called a relatively pretty picture, who knows; maybe I can even show it to Gearhead or Hydra. Fuck if I care, those two get on my wit's end at times, but what can I do? It's not as if I can throw off the two people I know like I would know a brother or sister and call it a day, nor do I want to kill them, but it's not within my ulterior motives to carry on with those two.

You know, I miss Spark. Relative to his name, he actually had that Spark of insanity that made him unique, it seems like every man and every relatively rare woman in the zone is just the same person, over and over again. Forecast suggest it's going to be repetitive for a couple of months, maybe. You know, on the topic of my Ulterior Motive, what the fuck am I going to do now? Just stick around with my friends until I choke and fall onto my face in some muddy puddle in the middle of nowhere? That's not how I would want to go really, I would rather be buried with my two comrades now that I think of it. The Usual Suspects..
