The Special Task Unit of the Ukraine Military, known as Spetsnaz, are some of the most highly trained soldiers in the world. Within the boundaries of the Zone they are mobilized to launch surgical strikes against enemy positions, conduct centralized sweeps for illegals within the Zone, undertake any assignment that may be too dangerous for the regular enlisted and their commanding officers, as well as emergency reinforcement for outposts and fire bases under military control. The 73rd Task Force was assembled with some of the most experienced in the business, specifically for operations within The Zone.

The team wears no ranks and take orders from no personnel within the 105th garrison. They wear kevlar reinforced Berill-M5 armored suits with flat, red tinted, solid visor masks combined with the Sphere-08 helmet with copper mesh insert. On the right shoulder of the uniform rests the universal Spetsnaz insignia as well as the patch of the 73rd Special Task Force.
