Here is the list of people who are approved to use magic, and what kinds of magic they are allowed to use. If you notice someone using magic and they are not on this list, please report it to an admin. If you see someone in the game who is approved to use magic, but is using magic outside of their defined spell list and Order, again, please report it to a member of the moderator team. If you wish to use magic, head on over to the Applications section of the Minecraft forum.

Some backstory and information on magic:

Magic in Aceon was once a peaceful and plentiful affair. However, over the millennia it has constantly been misused and abused, and now no longer readily springs forth at command. Once, according to the earliest known records, magic was used by nearly every elf, and one third of humans could use some form of it. Those days have long since passed. The Drutche Empire was the first and most prolific users of organized magic. So immensely powerful were they, that once they had combined their knowledge magic with the advanced technology of the conquered Arcturum Provectum, they seemed nearly unstoppable. They had almost conquered the entire continent when an unknown disaster occurred, causing a terrible explosion which decimated their capital and the surrounding area, including most of the peoples they had conquered. This place, located to the North, became known as the Ena'thi-Wastes. Nothing would grow there, and no Orders of magic could be summoned. To this day the area is still the same: desolate, lifeless, quiet.

In time new civilizations would rise up across the continent, and force magic to do their will. The Novarians on the Eastern coast used it to innovate new weapons, and the Northwestern Skandar used it to empower their berserker warriors. The Nomas of the central desert used it to bring lush green life to their dry homes, and the Ermorians of the Southeastern peninsula used it to dominate and assimilate others. Later still it would be studied and pushed to the limits of reality by the researchers of Thorn Academy. By the time of Runehaven and the Villam Provinciae, now just centuries past and not millennia, magic was nearly unheard of.

Theories abound as to why this is. Some believe that the magical forces of the world were pushed to their breaking point, and now they no longer respond as readily. Others believe that while the lifeless Ena'thi-Wasteland did not grow physically, the blight it had on magic did spread, slowly and invisibly. Could a rift have been torn in the fabric of reality that slowly siphons and consumes magic? No one knows, as none dare to tread to the centre of that blighted land. What is known is that now, magic is rarer than the most precious metals and gems. Those who can summon it forth and bind it to their will are powerful figures, or extremely lucky, and very few in number.
