Stalker: The Peaceful Ending
THREAD MOOSIC

"So here I am, back in the saddle again... And perhaps, back for the rest of my days. Forever, we shall see. But forever, it shall be... "

"After all that has happened; all the bullshit, the killing, the murders, the corruption, I'm still trying to find a good outlook on life. Although, I've lost everything. But I will not let it get my down, I can't... For my last family, lies within the Military, and I will always be there for them."

"When I came to the Zone, so long ago, it was the Military who saved my life. It was them, who took me in, and helped me take vengeance on the scumbags who killed my brother. It was them, who saved me from the attacks of countless mutants, and nurtured me back to health. It was them, who have been there for me, in the hardest of times. It was them, who got me to the top of the Traders Union."

"I am here to help the Military, and will do so to the best of my ability. Even now, I still work hard to improve my trading techniques and mechanical skills. Working countless hours to increase my precision and skills in modifying weaponry, and armor. Working hours, with sweat and blood repairing the most battered of armor. Spending hours filing reports and documents affiliated with business, and for what? For my people, my friends. My real friends."

"The Military is my home, my true home. The Traders Union, is my second home."

"Whatever the Military needs, I will have it. Be it furnishings, guns, ammo, armor, suits, food, money, you name it. I will do whatever it takes to get it, and I'll make sure it gets here. I will make sure they arrive in the greatest of condition, no matter what the costs."

"I would like to thank every soldier of the Military that has been there for me. The soldiers who gave me a bed when nobody else would. The soldiers who put word in for my recommendations to traders, such as Sidorovich, and the Barkeep. The soldiers who gave me their last share of food when I had nothing. Yurdansky, for going through the trouble of delivering my goods to my only children. Mertz, for being there when my brothers died. Johnson, for being a funny guy and always cracking a good joke. And 'all' the others, for helping me."

"The Military is a team, and a team, we shall work as."

"I am here for you all, and I will not let you down."

*****
*Khaletskiy bears the standard EXO-Skeleton. He is a professional mechanic, modifying and repairing all forms of gear, and is a professional trader.*

*He bears blond hair; short and combed back. Hazel eyes, and many scars from various encounters.*
*****
"It was the Military, that took me in on my first days in the Zone. After rolling off the small KRAZ-257 Military truck. Carrying with me only a few thousand rubles, and buying my precious spot onto that truck itself."

"I was dropped off, years ago. Working for the *******.********.*******. The Deputy left me no means of transportation, and expect me to gain my foothold on my own. Though, I still serve my country proudly."

"They dropped me off, at the Western Checkpoint; the Cordon. There were two machine gun nests, a MI-HIND-32 helicopter on a helipad, and about forty units stationed at the checkpoint. I, was one of them. Perhaps it was destiny that would bring me here? Who knows."

*Khaletskiy would then begin his Trading Career in the Zone. He leaves for the other areas, and is attacked by a pack of mutated dogs, left with many wounds. He winds up in Military care, cared for by Nikolai Yurdansky, Krystal Mertz, and Travis Johnson.*

*After recovery, he would discover his brother; Dimitri, is killed by a group of expert mercenaries. Hired by unknown sources, and an unknown kill mission, this is what sparked Khaletskiy to begin his junior career as a Military Trader.*

*As time went on, he left, and became head of the Traders Union. Time goes by, bla bla bla, and he decides to leave the Traders Union, with many enemies*

*He re-joins the Military, working as an agent of the *.*.*, and is stationed in the checkpoint, as a Military Trader and Mechanic.*

*What lies on the road of success is unknown, but we all know, that success does not happen without friendship. Perhaps friendship is the greatest success in life? Time will tell for sure, but for now, we all have a bit of success.*

"I also managed to get enough furnishing items to over-haul the checkpoint, hopefully we'll be able to rebuild the base itself. With time, we'll be able to overhaul the entire Military grounds completely. It will cost money, but it will be for the better. In the long run- although, it will save lives and further income. We'll no longer have to repair the pesky damages on the walls and surroundings, and it will be much safer overall for everyone."

"The bunk area, lounge area, and gear station is all ready for use as well. No more will soldiers have to sit on their asses on the floor, breaking their backs! At least now they can sit on their asses comfortably!" *He laughs heartfully*.

*1800 hours, October 10, 2012, (Military Calendar)/ Chernobyl Western Cordon checkpoint #2. Chernobyl, Zone of Exclusion

"Stalkers detected at nine o' clock sharp! Pushkar, on the second turret! NOW!", Khaletskiy blared over his local radio.

"Major, sir. We have a group of four stalker nine o' clock, behind a large pile of boulders. No clear line of shit for a shoot-to-kill. Orders?

Major Kuznetsov ordered in his usual, serious manner, "You and Pushkar keep an eye on them. If you get even a slight shot at them, take it. And make no fuss. Whipe them out like the dogs they are."

"Y-Yes sir!", Khaletskiy replied nervously.

Major Kuznetsov blared over the Cordon Checkpoints megaphone system, "All units, present arms! I want all units on high alert;' no fuss!"

Kuznetsov stormed out of the radio-area at an extremely high pace. Confidently,  he approached the units in their barracks, still getting ready.

Most of the Army soldiers were still putting on their Beril armor, and loading their AK's at a high speed. This was no longer a drill, causing them to double time it.

"All units, stand firm!", Kuznetsov ordered.

The soldiers stood firmly, saluting him. All of them geared and ready to go straight into a war feet first.

He nodded, "For Ukraine, for her people. For her security! For our last, final dying breath!"

The soldiers repeated proudfully, and with honor. They cupped their hands behind their back; the usual Army stance.

"All units, to the barricades. NOW! And double time it!"

They begun to storm out of the barracks. The Captain, the lieutenants, the warrant officers, the sergeants, all the way down to the privates; they stormed out, one by one, in a typical military fashion.

The 25 soldiers took up positions on the multiple barricades around the checkpoint, eyeing the rocks slowly. They all knew what to expect, and what dangers they could encounter from mere stalkers.

Khaletskiy noticed one of the stalkers, as he was trying to make a run for the other side. He tripped, due to fear a few times, and almost dropped his AK.

Pushkar was nervous, very nervous. His hands were shaking, and trembling on the cannon.

"K-Khaletskiy, you take this guy!"

The stalker begun to open fire on the checkpoint, bullets blazing from his AK-74-U. The bullets came not even a few meters close to hitting the checkpoint. Typical for a newbie stalker.

"Stalker detected, open fire!"

Khaletskiy sighted in on the lone wolf, only taking a few seconds. The man stood there, still shooting...

Seconds later, the trigger on the 20mm was pulled. Hundreds of rounds begun to pour from the cannon, tearing the stalker to pieces. He fell dead, instantly; his gun still in hand. He moved not a muscle. Scratch that, he barely had any muscle left after that.

The mutants from the hills a few hundred meters away begun to eye the body. Pseudo-dogs, blind-dogs, boars, and fleshies all stared at it. Something spooked them, causing to run away at an extremely fast pace. Was it the sight of the dozens upon dozens of Army units at the checkpoint? Who knows, but something did spook them for sure.

After the mutants dashed off, the Cordon was completely quiet. There was not a voice. No music playing in the small village near Sidorovich's bunker, no sound from the checkpoint, or the other stalkers. It was a day of violence, leaving one dead.

The stalkers begun to drop there weapons. One dropped an AK-74-U, the other two dropping AK-74-M's. They raised their hands, and slowly begun to walk out from behind the boulders.

"HOLD YOUR FIRE!", the Major ordered. There was not a single finger on any of the Army weapons.

Kuznetsov leaned his downward to his shoulder radio, keeping his eyes closely focused on the stalkers, "Let them go... It is not there time to die, yet. They may be scum, but they've seen enough for today. Hopefully, they will never come back..."

Kuznetsov shouted over the radios, "All units, dismissed!"

Pushkar dashed down the stares of the pill-box, running straight past Kusnetsov.

Khaletskiy pulled himself from the cannons seat, leaving a mark on it. He begun to think to himself..., "It's amazing, really. How it was me, the stalkers greatest ally. Now it is me, their greatest enemy. It's an odd feeling, but it is satisfying. But there is no going back for me... This is my home, and it always will be."

Khaletskiy begun to walk down the stares, brushing past Kusnetsov with a firm nod.

"Khaletskiy, come here.", he said with a confident tone.

"How are you holding up?"

He saluted, "Fine si-", Kusnetsov cut him off.

"At easier, soldier."

"F-...Fine sir. Just fine. It was weird, though. It felt really different..."

"That's to be expected. Your first kill, especially when coming from being a lone trader, is going to feel weird. It feels weird for all of us, and it felt odd for me myself."

Khaletskiy slowly took his beret off his head. It bared the star of the Ukraine Military. A real piece of work the hat is. Custom made, and professionally tailored by Khaletskiy in his private time.

"Thank you for the reassurance, sir. I'll remember that."

"Good, good.", he replied politely. "Khaletskiy, come with me, please. We'll talk about this later. Right now, I need your help. My Beril, yet again, seems to be falling apart. Could you be a pal', and re-bolt the armored kevlar plates for me? I'd well appreciate it, soldier."

"Anything, Major. Anything.", he replied in delight.

"Good, good. Dismissed. Meet me at 2000 hours. We've got work to do."

"DISMISSED!", he replied in a shouting, but generous tone.

"Sir, yes sir!", Khaletskiy saluted Kusnetsov, and begun to walk to his quarters, to prepare his gear. He only had half an hour to get his equipment ready for the project.

Kusnetsov saluted him, with a grin on his face. Kusnetsov knew he has turned Khaletskiy into a real soldier. A real, fighting machine. And at the same time, Khaletskiy turned himself into one of the greatest traders and mechanics the Zone has ever been graced with.

*END*

*Kusnetsov has turned Khaletskiy into a chiseled, bold, and daring man. His rigorous private training, and dreadful free-weights lessons have turned Khaletskiy into a body of steel and will. His urge to go on, and never give up on his tasks has earned him a reputation to be reckoned with.*

You know what's REALLY sad? I've never owned VO5, or took note of it really, and I IMMEDIATELY knew it was an alberto product.

Fuck my life, I hate working with shampoo.

Also nice post(s), they sound like they are actually coming from some one, and not just words typed out.

also nice PDA headers and footers. Never had a PDA, don't know how they work.

// .20mm would be very very very very very very tiny. Like smaller than an airsoft BB which is 6mm. I think you're getting caliber and mm confused. Both are the diameter of the round, one is in inches and one is in mm. You probbaly mean 20mm, although that round is not used for anything except NATO airplane cannons (Eastern Bloc uses 25mm and 30mm) so canonly it doesn't make much sense to be finding ammo for NATO planes.
