Problems with Gmod

Alright this used to happen pretty rarely but it seems to be happening more and more. When I'm playing on the STALKER server, after an hour or so (but sometimes shorter) my monitor will suddenly black out and display "No Signal". My computer stays on but nothing I do will make the monitor come back until I hard restart my computer with the power button. Google searching was less than helpful as the only causes of this problem that I saw were inadequate power supply (which I know it's the case as I have 850 watts of power) or bad RAM (which seems very unlikely as the problem ONLY happens in Gmod). My GPU gets pretty hot playing Gmod so I wonder if it's over heating but that seems unlikely as I can play any other game for hours on end without a crash (and when I was overclocking my machine I was running stress testing stuff for 10+ hours on end, pushing temps way above what any program should do and was fine).

I'm running Windows XP SP3 and have the latest graphics drivers for my video card. Anyone have any suggestions?

It seems like it times out due to graphical overloading (possibly either your graphics card is deciding to die or your drivers are out of date), try updating your graphics card drivers (fixes 80% of all problems for most people)

Yeah that was the first thing I tried. I dl'd the newest drivers yesterday so they are certainly up to date

That happened with my Monitor i use for my xbox.

Make sure that none of the power cords, or your AV cables, are loose/unplugged. When I moved my monitor, the power cord jiggled, and made it lose power. This is probably with your AV cable though.

Yeah tried that too. The monitor cable is screwed in tight. This problem only happens with Gmod so it is probably related to Gmod in some way.

I had the same problem. Took it in. They said it was something wrong with the motherboard.

I would be willing to believe that but since I can rock any other game (including very demanding ones like Crysis and GTA 4) for hours on ends I have a feeling the problem is Gmod related. Though the problem has happened less since the new map so maybe something got optimized in the wipe.

Please read the dates before necro.
Lock this please?
