The Decline of Music in Modern Society (Pop Culture)

There is a hand full of musicians out there today who are musically impressive/sophisticated but their style is far too "different" for most people and are rejected for the most part. Most kids my age are raised in Hip Hop music, they don't know any different. If you give them something else a little more sophisticated, it's rejected because they are not used to it. Why don't people actually try to musically expand and get to like something else a little more appreciative?

Just gotta love the classics.

If only we could ban rap, this is exactly why multicultralism does not work, rap makes people stupid !

Hey... I like rap and hip-hop. The beats are awesome, and it's fun to just get up and dance to.

I like rap, metal, techno. It all.

Even some classical.

^^

Proud listener of melodic death metal.

It's just commercialism, don't stress. Simple music is easy to market to simple minds. The majority of people are simple. Gross generalisation i know.

May aswell throw my 2 cents in anyway. I'm mainly in progressive music, Pink floyd to porcupine tree to opeth to cynic. I listen to a lot of metal in general though, though i shy away from the whole -core fad going on at the moment.
