Have you ever read "The Sea of Trolls"? Its plot is all about finding said Well of Song, known as Mimirs Well, and one of the main characters is named Thorgil, female though she was.
Again, not knocking the stuff, its totally great. Just wondering.  :-[

again yes I have read it, if the main character is called Jack and Thorgils (which is like Sam and can be either gender) gets dragon blood and can hear birds and something about a mad old crow man.
