That's right, as of midnight EST the Terraria 1.2 update will be up on steam and available for download!
While I'm sure everyone has been anxiously waiting for the update this means a few things for the server:
1) The mods are going to have to go through every single new item and enemy and check to see if they'll be allowable on the server.
2) This is a server for roleplay still, if you want to best of the best armor and weapons then this isn't the place to be.
3) James has made it clear that the "party girl" NPC is going to be locked away somewhere tight and that if you mention MLP around him it'll end very badly for you.
4) We have to wait for T-Shock to update, it may be quite awhile and without it we have no server control.
5) There's going to be a ton of stuff for character customization! Let's all get creative and really bring this community back guys!
That basically covers some of it but James, Hex, and Riageki may have more to add so make sure to watch out for any threads or posts from them as well.
P.S. only 20 minutes to go until the update here, the anxiety may kill me...

The items will be for sale. Whether you decide to go into the prison to get them or buy them from a shopkeeper will work. (Need to try to find people who could be decent SK's)

I would like to say that Pumilionis has before proven that he is a very adept shop keeper.
Also update:
Tshock has been updated and now includes server side players, that means now when you get on the server your character will revert to whatever it was the last time you where on. Aka, no more importing in illegal items which was a big problem last time around.
If only people could be trusted to only use op items that built into a solid and lovable character

Yeah it was quite bad, luckily now though they'll have to somehow get a hold of everything they want to use! Which can range from hard to impossible now.
So the question now is....any idea as to when the server is going to be coming up?

To make this clear they did go and add a crap load of past hallow gear stuff, most of the stuff they added is for fun and to increase creativity. Like a shit wide range of building, vanity, and coloring stuff. You can just look on Terraria Wiki for it all, its crazy.

No I haven't had the time to try that yet, but I'd imagine that If you had the biome changing gun that is sold by the Steampunker NPC, and somehow set it to sorruption, it might work
They can spread in the same world, just only one spawns on world generation. So perhaps a good idea would be to have a crimson world, since people can still spread corruption by buying corrupt seeds from the dryad (that doesn't change depending on the world type). If you want actual corruption (ebonstone and all that), then I guess you'd have to use a map editing program to manually construct a corruption biome or two.

We'll try to stay away from map editing programs, unless someone is quite savvy with them. Corruption shouldn't be too hard to build, come to think of it.

Maybe if you spawn hardmode npcs, like the wizard or the cyborg, there will be no need to have a world in hardmode. Newcomers wont last two seconds in it.
Do ya kno what I recommend? Bringing vanity ítems and dyes. And no more. I think custom outfits can do a good RP.
For example: Bee shirt, bee pants and 2 white dyes = Prisoner. Steampunk shirt and pants, and glasses: teacher.
And there's no need to kill a lot of bosses, nor even get in hard mode.
