At 20:00 last night, the Enclave gave reason to fear Vertibirds in the skies. In a swift and brutal assault, the Enclave attacked the NCR's outpost and laid waste to their facilities, their men, and their citizens. In a mere ten minutes, the battle was over. The casualties amount to two Enclave dead, two wounded. Meanwhile the NCR suffered thirteen dead, not including civilians who joined the fight, and countless more seriously wounded. This number rises to twenty NCR dead if the count also includes the ambushed caravan that fell under attack during the silence of 02:00.
In the aftermath of the battle, the following morning, the NCR base still reeks of burnt flesh, gunpowder, and explosive residue. Major Starkovski, the NCR's commander, survived the encounter after being thrown off a building roof. Ironically, the fall is what saved his life. When he was found by the Enclave's specialized fireteam, Zulu, they assumed he was already dead when in true he had only lost consciousness in the fall. What he awoke to was a horror show that will scar him for the rest of his days. All around him, his fellow soldiers lay dead or maimed, their bodies seared by the blast of laser fire. He will never forget that insignia, the crimson triangle on Captain Pinpoint's shoulder. It will haunt his dreams until the day he has his revenge... After the battle ended, the Brotherhood of Steel emerged from their bunker to see what chaos had fallen. Baring witness to these atrocities, Head Paladin Elizabeth Taylor chose to lend medical aid to those she could, while also ordering her men to salvage the wreak of a downed Vertibird. Although the Brotherhood normally lends no assistance to the wasteland, it's hard to say no when faced with such despair.
For now, life in the wasteland must move on. If there is a silver lining to this story, it is that the Enclave apparently has no interest in taking over the NCR's base. They have abandoned the old town they once used as their research outpost. NCR scouts sent later that evening discovered that all traces of usable technology had been removed from the Enclave's old base, but the town was left in one piece. Startlingly, a high-yield mini-nuke was in fact discovered in one of the buildings, apparently rigged on a timer to destroy the town as per scorched earth policy the Enclave was following, but luckily the bomb failed to go off. It was a dud. Consequently, this leaves the town available for use by the NCR and other factions that choose to commandeer it.
This morning, a rare desert downpour soaks the bloodied sands and streets of Amargosa, leaving one to question if the Enclave will ever return. It is more than likely this will not be the last these people have seen of Captain Pinpoint and his crew. It is even more likely that the NCR and Major Starkovski will be waiting for them... because war never changes.

Now for OOC updates:

- NCR is undergoing an overhaul project led by Kropfi which I've so far been impressed by. The faction is to be taken much more seriously from now on by its own members, which should make others likewise respect them. See NCR board for more details.

- Enclave is assuming its role as an event only faction as deemed by Last.Exile, because it's really hard to pick out a base for them on this map. Future Enclave engagements will be part of an event. When Exile finishes our new map, hopefully Enclave will have a place to hang out and they can then return to being a major faction.

- Expect Zulu to return as a main antagonist in Fallout RP's lore. There's too much potential with this group to use them only once.

- The summer is coming, so expect increased activity in FORP by admins and players. Even if no one is online, I suggest you log in anyway and drag some friends along, do some small passive RP, and amuse yourselves until more show up. A minimum of 3 players tends to have a chain reaction. That's how SRP gets up in the morning. Admins shouldn't have to log in to start up the server every day, but you know where to find us if you do need us and we're not logged on. :)

- The Apartments are now available for use by any faction able to hold the position. I'd recommend a playerbased faction move in and spur some activity on FORP like during our last reboot.
