Is not required,    Please tell me the way how shoot too miss works, I need multiple Admins saying what it is.

Due too different admins saying different things, Along with different people saying different things.

And remember. If there are any rules that were made by other admins that are now banned those rules are void.

I cant seem to find a rule book here.. Sad face.

I think this is a problem, Seriously, Shoot to miss is flawed, looks good on paper- Nothing else... SADLY in a PERFECT World it would work. But, This is what usually happens, Gunfight, then... Some one dies- "Flames Shoot to miss guys" Now, I think unless otherwise stated... I mean, Shoot to kill seriously, because if everyones shooting to kill you cant complain... UNLESS OF COURSE OTHERWISE STATED AT THE BEGINING- Stm The other day "Zombies" attacked, and we all shoot to miss that was fun- Because he said to From the begining... you cant go in thinking stm, or you will die sadly. this isnt that perfect world.

Well, this rule has been abit weary for awhile now, it was part of the old zone, and some accepted it here, and some didn't.

The rule now stands as, if both partie(s) accept shoot to miss, before combat, then shoot to miss, otherwise, shoot to kill.

Laferio, when my faction says we're going to shoot to miss, we do.
I can recall last night when we said shoot to miss, and you agreed, and somehow you forgot, and shot to kill.
Perhaps if would be best to first actually use shoot to miss before dismissing it, Hm?

I did not agree to anything, Seriously, If somebody told you I did then they are most likely lying, I oppose shoot too miss the most. It just wouldnt make sense unless you can prove to me I agreed to it

Also God the reason why I hate shoot to miss is because.

1. In real life I'm going to hit you dead on, If i'm going to be in the Zone I better know how to aim.

2.Takes the fun out of all the RP, Does not get the blood pumping.

3.I hate it when you kill somebody and they pull "Wtf I thought it was shoot too miss" Thing.

4.Its just plain unrealistic.

Laferio, it's not real life, it's roleplay.

Shoot to miss is used in battles from 2-6 people.
Read the guide, and follow the rules.

The real issue is that guns have no recoil, and are too strong and accurate. Longer lasting firefights allow for roleplay and other things, since we don't have realistic weapons, we have to simulate it.

How does, shoot to miss take the fun out of roleplay? Shoot to miss is designed so more roleplay can happen...

When someone says Shoot to miss, i just use hip-fire and spray alot.

Thanks for you input Dom and Silver.

I agree, for the most part, with Laferio in this case.

Quote from: Locke Laferio, it's not real life, it's roleplay.

Roleplay is, obviously, the playing of a role. That role is an inhabitant of the Zone, a dangerous place where you would NOT 'shoot-to-miss' an attacker. The decider of most arguments regarding S.T.A.L.K.E.R RP is, if you were playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R, what would you do? Granted, I would go around killing every single person I saw. This is where you also have to factor in what life would be like if S.T.A.L.K.E.R was reality. So, really, the ultimate deciding question is, "If I was a S.T.A.L.K.E.R., in real life, the Zone was real, and I had one life to live, what would I do?" If you would honestly go around killing everyone in sight because you just don't give a shit, I would accept that as proper roleplay. You will, however, suffer the consequences. You WILL be killed. Not just shot ingame and you RP an injury, you will be KILLED. Your ONE LIFE will be GONE. These are the consequences.

The debate over weapon realism in roleplay is a long, hard-fought battle. Either way, the entire point of Garrys Mod is to be nearly 100% modifiable, which is clearly displayed by our S.T.A.L.K.E.R RP. This means that just about anything we see as not up-to-par, can be fixed. So... let's fix it.

In order to fix it we need to decide a few things. Namely, what is 'realism'? In our case, it is the realistic virtual portrayal of an idea, law, object, or anything else that is not truly grounded in reality, but based on it. So, let's look up the facts and plug them in to our handy tables and lua coding. I'd be happy to do this if I knew how... but I'm pretty much hopeless in the development department. I can hex models, and that's about it.

The true facts are undebatable, but many seem to think some facts are lies. This is where personal opinion comes in. The fact is, if you are in a vital area with any object moving at a high enough speed to rupture organs or major blood vessels, EVEN ONCE, you will die if not treated appropriately or on the spot if the wound is severe enough. I can shoot someone in a non-vital area where I wouldn't strike, or in any other way damage, a single vital part all damned day and he wouldn't die unless by severe shock or infection if given enough time.

Of course it's impractical and probably impossible to map out all major blood vessels and all major organs, and have them react appropriately in any source game. So, we would need to RP being shot in a vital area either by choice or being told that that's where you were shot and seek the treatment required for your specific wound.

Now to address your points on recoil, accuracy, and damage.

Recoil - Depends on the firearm and it's fired cartridge, really. M4s/M16s have little recoil due to both their design and the cartridge they fire. 5.56x45mm, or .223, has a diameter three thousandths of an inch larger than a .22 long rifle cartridge. It's power comes from it's length, allowing more powder to be packed in and it's tumbling characteristic.

An AK-47 with a plain-old wooden stock is going to kick a bit more. 7.62x39mm, or 7.62 Soviet, is quite a bit larger in diameter, and you'll feel it a bit more. An exaggerated example of this would be a comparison between a .45 ACP round and a 9mm Parabellum round. The 9mm is much smaller and penetrates deeper. The .45 transfers more of its energy immediately, on contact, and doesn't have as much energy to keep traveling.

I'm really just rambling now, and I feel like playing GMOD. I may continue this later and I may not. The main point is, act as if you would if STALKER was real life. Bullets hurt more than most of you seem to think. Recoil could definitely be increased. Accuracy is a tough subject. Cone-of-fire based accuracy is bullshit.

More to come later, storm is hitting and I want my computer safe and sound.

That's what I've always wanted for roleplay, which is exactly what HockeyMaster said, I hope many folks remember my very first post here under the name Vityaz, the nice paragraph I posted about STM and STK.

.....Am I the only one confused here?

I am Vityaz.

The thing is that without shoot to miss, gunfights last two seconds because people get amazingly aimed headshots that equal a falcon punch death.

With shoot to miss more roleplay is possible.

* Rus puts a new magazine in his gun, pulling the bolt back.

No. It shouldn't work like that, it's a waste of time. I don't just sit there and do some big glorious retarded /me. It isn't worth it. I'd rather fuck shit up like a Merc should do and get work done instead of doing a bit shitstorm where people WILL cry if they don't STM.

Shoot to miss is need, it expands role-play, if you want to shoot to kill, go back to fucking counter-strike. Your not wanted and hardly needed.

I'm sorry but whenever ever I shoot too miss it takes the fun out of all the roleplay in me.

And honestly the main reason too why I hate shoot too miss is because anybody will pull the "Wtf shoot2miss" Act out on me, This has happened on multiple communities not just this one. Every single time I go to another Roleplay server, Something comes up with "Wtf shoot2miss"

Shooting to kill is not role-play, it's counter-strike with special weapons.

Haha, I'm sure I've been RPing longer than you and I know how shit goes down.

Longer than me? Well, if you care to believe that.

Simple fact is, we are here to role-play not play counter-strike.

I'm sorry but your wrong at that. If that was the case why the Bleep Lol do we even have weapons on the server? Originally it was for Shoot too kill,

Too bad the STALKER is to kill your adversaries.

We have weapons because S.T.A.L.K.E.R. has fighting, go play S.T.A.L.K.E.R. again, half the time you won't get hit.

People in the zone are normal people, not everyone is Strelok on this shit.

I get hit ALOT, It depends what difficulty you play it on, I am assuming you don't get it and therefor play it on Rookie. Turn it up a notch.

I play on Master, my game must be borked or your just trying to be a prick.
