New S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Expansion and Full Sequel May be in the Works

According to a recent chat with GSC Game World (the interview is in Russian), the company may have spilled the beans on both a new S.T.A.L.K.E.R. expansion and a fully flushed out sequel to the original game.

Fortunately for us, both ClanBase and the TTLG forums have translated parts of the interview for us. Here is a bit on what Sergey Grigorovitch, the president of GSC Game World, had to say.

  However, in an online conference earlier this week, Grigorovitch was asked whether the April 2009 calendar featuring the words 'Call of Pripyat' in Russian was an April Fools' joke.

  He replied that this was not a joke and would be the name of the second expansion. He added that this new expansion will be released later this year. Furthermore, a full S.T.A.L.K.E.R. title is also in development, although there's currently no information on when we will hear more about this.

Naturally, this may end up being a miscommunication in the translation, but an expansion is an almost guarantee. In case you were wondering, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky, while a stand-alone title, was considered to be the first expansion to the original game.

Here I was thinking I would have it easy with no new news of F.E.A.R. or S.T.A.L.K.E.R. for a while.
