Alright. I'm looking for someone to run the Military full time, albeit you're under multiple admin authority. And if we do not like what we see, one of us will have an SV promptly investigate. Now then.

Requirements:

1) You must be or have been an active player on SRP and on the HGN forums. You will devote time to lead this faction.

2)  I will check to make sure you dont do a lot of shit posting, necroing, trolling, flaming. It's immature and unbecoming of a potential faction leader.

3) I expect you to do research on both the STALKER and real Ukrainian Military aspects, Army to be exact. As well as look into modern Russian protocols. You cannot lead thinking it's Call of Duty.

4) You will understand you are not here to 'Win the game'.

5) You will understand We hold the right to strip you of the position should at any point you fail to uphold to the professional expectations of a Major Faction leader. For the most part you are operating to your own devices.

Warning: If you are going to flame, troll, or otherwise derail this subject, I will see that you are promptly delivered a Strike.

In a following TWO-THREE PARAGRAPHS, tell me why I should pick you. Note definition of paragraph in this case is a minimum of 5 well constructed sentences.

I'm not a particularly good application writer, but here goes. I think that you should choose me to lead the Military because of my relatively long stay at HGN, measuring a year and a few months, and the fact I see myself as a somewhat competent roleplayer, and whole-heartedly enjoy playing on the server, maintaining activity when I can. I have no issues doing forum work for the faction, and would donate my time to doing so, reviewing applications in detail, modifying the roster, addressing members and so on, despite my low post count. Trolling, flaming and the like is not within my persona, and minus my humor, I take a mature attitude to serious matters, namely the role of leading a faction. I would also happily research the structure and organisation of Ukraine's military, both in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and real life. Thinking that leading the Military is all fun and games is an idiot's approach, and ordering all-out faction wars like previous leaders isn't something I plan to do, reminding me of mad, Call of Duty-esque charges into the fray. Having said that, I am somewhat familiar with the general structure of SRP's usual Military, having joined thrice, twice when Doom' was in charge, and the other time when Rebel was still among us.

I acknowledge that you stand ready to strip me of, if at all, my status as leader as a result of acting like an idiot, and not the CO of a small force in the Zone. I imagine such an undertaking as harsh, grueling and difficult to get through with little to no luxury and support. During the three previous occasions within which I've joined the Military, it all seemed to easy for my liking.  The idea of passive RP with events such as faulty machinery, pests, limited equipment for weapons maintenance and other nuisances associated with being isolated within a remote outpost in the Zone, instead of just standing there looking pretty was never used. On a side note, if this is accepted, hired Mercenaries are a big 'no no' for me as of a few weeks ago. The whole concept just became silly, everybody was a hired agent.

On the subject of "winning the game", I acknowledge that there is no game to be won. In the context of 'the game', no faction is better than the other, and engaging hostilities just because they are there isn't something I'd do. Faction wars like ones I've seen before are, just like mercenaries, silly. Silly in that they yield no results, just an STK fight lacking tension and enjoy-ability (if that's even a word). Such events never result in anything substantial, and it becomes just an idle fight with no urgency, other than using your faction members to show their OOC prowess at what usually reminds me of a Counter Strike: Source match. Fighting just because there are other factions is stupid, time wasting and childish.

I hope you consider me for the position.
Warning, this news report contains flashing images.

To start my application, I'd just like to say that I am an active HGN roleplayer, with a lot of time to run Military. In the time that I spend roleplaying, I sometimes wonder how a full on military roleplay would be. As soon as I saw this thread, I jumped on the opportunity. I've recently been researching how multiple different armies work to construct an outline on how a good military roleplay would be upheld. I have already created a ranking system based on the Ukrainian Army's military system, and I would be able to operate and run the Military OOCly very easily (I'm able to read through and check applications with no complaints, plus I know many people) and ICly (My system that was previously described in this paragraph) with no problems. I've spent a lot of time on the Stalker wiki researching multiple topics, and a decent amount of time of the Military, to extend my knowledge of the Stalker Universe, and how the Military fits in. I feel like I would be able to blend the Stalker version of the Ukrainian Military, with its knowledge of the Zone so far, and how that would alter their procedures, with the real life Ukrainian Military and their procedures current day.

On the fact that a Major Faction leader should never be disrespectful, you can ask anybody that knows me well enough, that I am never disrespectful and always listen to people when it comes to being serious. If somebody comes up to me and has a problem, I can easily make them feel comfortable, while at the same time be serious about the problem that they bring to me. This is one of the attributes that a good leader should have, being able to listen to anybody that brings problems to him, ICly and OOCly. I've never purposefully broken a rule on HGN (I once accidentily went into a faction base on a bloodsucker when I was new to the map) and I do not flame, insult, necropost, or otherwise do anything that can lower an opinion of me. I am not a 'powergamer', and once again, you can ask anybody that knows me well enough to count for me. I have two characters that I could easily do anything I wanted with - A controller and a Bloodsucker - but I simply refuse to powergame to survive. I use my separate characters to enhance roleplay for Stalkers, rather than myself, which is what a Bloodsucker should do, in my opinion.

The Military ranking system that I have in mind would involve creating fire teams based on what they needed. For example, one fire team should posses at least two gunners, and have the option of one more gunner and either a Reconnaissance unit or a Medical Unit, depending on the type of Fire team. A Reconnaissance fire team, for example, would consist of two or three Recon units and a gunner, for backup. Teams would be assigned while on duty, and sent on patrols. Large squads would also consist of the same type of units as a typical fireteam, but up to six members at a time, and are normally only sent out for major reasons, such as an Ecologist expedition, or a high value target, or the need to clear up part of the Zone, and kill the Mutants in the area, for one reason or another. Military would only venture out of their area once and a while, but when they do, it's known. They aren't here to kill Stalkers. They're here to survive, just like them.

I am also a very charismatic trainer, able to train everybody on proper procedures while also preparing them, getting them hyped up and ready to fight in The Zone. I am able to prepare a training regimen that would allow for not only IC training, but also OOC instruction on how to act out of character, how to properly conduct yourself as a member - an icon of Military, because as a Military soldier, your actions impact the Zone itself. You represent the Military, and that is something soldiers need to know, something that I am willing to drill into their heads. Under my leadership, the Military will rise again, under a new objective - An objective that allows a new take on controlling the Zone, a way that lessens bloodshed, but keeps fear, a new Military rising from the ashes, born anew!

Possible backstory:
The Military is in the Zone for one reason: Keep Citizens away from it. Due to the fact that a large amount of citizens have come into the zone already, and declared themselves "STALKERs", the Military decided to let some of this activity slide, in exchange for some money. Leadership has been passed around, trying to rid the corruption of Military officers, ultimately, one man was imported into the Zone; [Redacted] This man rose through the ranks due to his prowess both on the field and commanding other soldiers. He soon became high ranking enough to be noticed by the top, and was promoted to "Zone Manager" when he saved his squad from a Bloodsucker pack attacked. He decided to change up the procedures in The Zone; The Stalkers would be allowed to freely move about once inside the Zone, but the Military would still attempt to stop the trade of Artifacts on the black market, and do their best to halt the entering of more Stalkers. The Artifacts were meant to go to the Ecologists, and the Military wanted to make sure that they did. They weren't here to kill everybody, but if a Stalker died, it was their own problem for coming into the Zone. This area would be treated differently - It was going to be cleared out soon enough, after the Eggheads finished studying their things, but that wasn't the Military's concern, really. They were just sent in to do their thing and leave, and that's what they were determined to do.
"Mommy, when is Daddy coming home?"
"Here, Alex.. Daddy sent us a package.. The soldier told us that it.. might be a while until Daddy's done with his service. Don't worry, you'll see him soon, Alex.."
"He's always gone! I never get to see him!"
