Holy cow, got on and it looks like a bloodbath happened. I was barely able to scrape together enough to get to the survivor stronghold *well what looks like a survivor stronghold*

It hasn't been reset since the day it was launched. You'd be lucky to find an axe or anything meaningful.

I'll leave this here for SK.

Respawning loot is currently only possible through either resetting the server completely or performing a soft reset.
A soft reset will completely redistribute loot containers and wipe dead bodies and blood splatters off the server.

To perform a Soft Reset, quit the server. Edit the ProjectZomboidServer.bat with a text editor and add -Dsoftreset to it

Example:

".\jre64\bin\java.exe" -Xms2048m -Xmx2048m -Djava.library.path=./ -cp lwjgl.jar;lwjgl_util.jar;sqlitejdbc-v056.jar;trove-3.0.3.jar;./ -Dsoftreset zombie.network.GameServer
PAUSE

Now run the batch file and let it finish. Once done, close the CMD and delete the -Dsoftreset entry from the batch file.
Restart the server by running the batch again.

Where'd you find it? If in West Point central town, then that place was badly griefed. Very badly griefed.

Nah the other one, it was hidden in a large hoard of dead zombies near some storage facility.

Ah. Not the isolated cabin which was attacked by a giant, spawned horde.

Anyway, I think the server would use a total restart (at least from my perspective), especially when the soft reset didn't work.

None was performed I assume.

A soft reset was attempted but failed.

Server is now fully reset.

Server restarted, must have crashed, sadly i have to start it manually as it's a piss-poor server client software.

Wish it'd be locked. I saw my place devoid of all useful items after a few days of playing. At least a whitelist/password over here would make most griefers go away. And people who don't play fair.

The server needs to be private in order to sustain some kind of playability. Not to mention all the server hoppers.

So apparently now they're adding in respawning. In experimental but still...

"experimental"

lol because player spawn is so difficult to trigger on death.

even then it's not going to compensate for all the features they've removed from the game

scuse me
proper respawn of loot and zombies
aka when one place is left unattended for a set by hoster/player amount of time, loot and zombies respawn

Theoretically easy considering there already are functions to generate items and NPC since it's done when the server starts.

Only if there was a reason to explore, rather than going into the warehouse and winning the game.

Try to kill all the zeds in the Mall and set up there. The game is about setting your own objective. Like Paradox grand strategies.

Honestly, I'd prefer having even a smallest reason to go to a mall. And even if I do, what then? I've got raincollectors on the roof in notime and crap growing in the garden, GG.

Well, lets just take over the city, and win the war against zombies ;). How could that not be interesting. I'm in. Who wants to play?

I guess I could review it and put it back up.  I think it's still running but the world would be so fucked.
