The Knights Templar






The Knights Templar is a Holy order new to the world of Aceon. We have taken solemn vows to protect the weak and fight to bring peace to this new world.


Religion




We are Catholic but have come to the realization that we cannot force alll to believe as we do so we are accepting of all religions apart from those who worship the Occult or Atheists



We are divided into two main branches:

Church

The church is the most important branch of our order, protecting all Templar ground while the military is on foreign land and keeping our holy artifact, The Shroud of Turin. The church is headed by the Pope who also acts as our ambassador. Members of the Church act as both our primary defense and our diplomats. The church also keeps moral up with weekly sermons.



Military

Our military is sworn to fight for our LORD and protect those who cannot protect themselves. Our military is primarily an offensive force leaving most defense to the soldiers of the church. Our military is well organised and well trained seeing as no soldier can go to battle without mastering each of his/her weapons. We mix unorthodox battle-field tactics with traditional strategy to become an unstoppable force in battle. Our military has two branches -

Crusaders

Crusaders make up the backbone of our military and are primarily used as heavy infantry. Each Crusader is equipped with a broad-sword and a full suit of armor. Crusaders use advanced formations to both confuse and overwhelm the enemy, Crusaders are truly masters of warfare.

Rangers

Rangers are masters of both bow and sword, used for tactical maneuvers and never really for head on attacks. Rangers are lightly armed with a short-sword and crossbow, wearing leather armor into battle to maintain their maneuverability.



New recruits usually come in as initiates acting as squires to the knights, once the squire has proven himself he may be knighted and choose his path. Knights must take the responsibility to train their squires in the ways of the Templar.

Yes but that is a sub faction and less in depth, plus cant there be two templar factions? maybe we'll form an alliance.

Yeah that is what I meant, join us with them and expand their Templar order, or have their Templar order transfer to you.  Whatever works really.

The thing I dont understand is what are the Templars and the Catholic church doing in a fictional fantasy setting?

well actually it was meant to be a medieval setting, but it works better as a fantasy with the technology of medieval times. So really it shouldn't be templars you should be questioning it should be the dark elves, cat people and goblins we have on the server. I always liked the idea of templars anyway so I approve.

I quit the Templars faction, so basically there is no Templar faction at the moment.
