IC Name (first and last): Sonata DuFae
Race: Human
Native Resident or Immigrant: Immigrant
Desired Caste: Merchant
Character Backstory: Sonata was born outside the walls of any city, in a small house where her mother and father lived. She lived a normal childhood, and moved away when she was old enough, becoming a wanderer for a while, eventually finding a home in the house of Kolaek where she became his maid for a while. Eventually due to reasons that she is still not quite sure of, they packed their bags and moved to DEAP. While exploring the gigantic city, and talking to several people throughout, she grew discontent with her subservient life and decided to leave and make a name for her in the city.

IC Name (first and last): Okkerson Chaoruppt
Race: Sub-Human; Corrupted human.
Native Resident or Immigrant: Immigrant
Desired Caste: Merchant Caste; Enchanter
Character Backstory (at least one paragraph, include why you want to join if you are not native): Okkerson Chaoruppt was your usual enchanter, lived in a bustling city, enchanting weapons and armor for those who could pay, he lived a good life, if not eventful. Until one day, the Baroness walked into his shop. From the first sight, he knew something was odd. Until she asked if he could partake in a few 'experiments' since he had magical abilities. He was skeptical at first, but the amount of money promised was too much to say no to, so he closed his shop for the day and followed her. When they arrived, they were standing in front of a strange portal, he asked what it was, and without a word he was pushed into it. He blacked out, and awoke on the hard flooring of the Nether. He looked around, this place was foreign, and quite terrifying to him. As he tried to leave, the Baroness stopped him and told him he must retrieve an orb or he will never come back. He searched for this orb grudgingly, and after about 2 hours found it. It sat on a pedestal surrounded by glowing blue stones. As he approached it, he could feel the stillness of the air, it seemed everything went quiet as he approached it. When he placed his hands on the orb, a surge of energy rushed through him. The magic within the orb burned into his veins, scarring his body. His hair and eyes turned pure white as his skin, and his veins all glowed bright blue. He threw the orb back as it tumbled towards the Nether portal, where the Baroness was standing. She thanked him for removing the trap on it, and walked back into the portal, closing it as she left. He was stranded in the Nether, a corrupted weakened enchanter. After what seemed like weeks of walking, he discovered another portal and managed to escape. He tried to return to his normal life, keeping gloves on and his hood up to hide himself, but the magic had done something to his enchantments. Whenever he tried to enchant something, it would either backfire or place a curse upon it. The users would slowly go insane with these, so he ceased to be an enchanter and left the town to travel. Years later he discovered a way to nullify the curses to an extent, but it costs way more resources then usual and requires more of his power. Now, working as an enchanter in the land of Aceon, Okkerson searches for a way to remove his corruption forever, and to rid the world of the Baroness, wherever she might be.
OOC Join Reason (if any): Built my spire, had to join, might as well help the faction.

Guessing you will be hunted down like the other people that deserted

geccoy

They did not desert, they had IC reasons to leave, and OOC reasons.
They did it ICly, but, QuinTasin and Portkins are too controlling, and won't let anyone outside of DEAP RP.

okky360

I agree, the only reasons my character still hasn't left is because of the...accident in his basement, and a certain someone in town. DEAP is crumbling sadly :I

No?

It's been my policy, forever, that I kill anyone who deserts my faction.

Even when I led the BoS.

That was my policy.

I'm consistant.

Its controlling and dumb.

It's called regulation, policy and commonplace.
Your argument is invalid and unsupported.

Okkerson Chaoruppt has left DEAP by escaping through the nether portal in his shop basement, closing it while inside. His spire disappeared along with him.

It's regulation - It keeps people from defecting from any faction they please if it suits thier fancy, and also deters the number of "DEAP Rebellions" which is a political tactic on both the OOC and the IC side.

It's policy - The mere fact that I maintain it makes it policy. I've done it forever and will continue to do it.

It's commonplace - No one can leave Monolith, on STALKER, can they? No one can leave Enclave. No one can leave the BoS (Turkey's a fag), no one can leave DUTY (usually) and all the factions that do allow people to leave are the fly-by-night non-military oriented organizations. (Clearly not meaning Freedom.)

This is a stupid argument. People are complaining about the policies of a faction they WILLINGLY joined.
We do not force people to join us, we merely provide enough benefits that the vast majority of people overlook the drawbacks of joining our factions. We control a great deal of land and resources; we have remarkable buildings, a strong governmental structure, a faux-democracy, a booming economy, a great deal of skilled RPers and, I believe, the best city on the map.

Maybe I should make it clearer that desertion is a crime punishable by death and explicitly mention the fact that people are free to visit the DEAP city, and that merely citizens must be added to the DEAP faction.

Paintcheck

If that is all true why is Quintasin/Anton/Ranma telling people they can't RP with members in DEAP if they aren't DEAP members themselves?

I'm not sure about the current status of the minecraft server and its factions, but if the "DEAP is crumbling sadly" statement is true, Might I suggest to you all that you should be less controling in the sense that you are limiting everyones RP by saying they can't PR with people outside of DEAP. Otherwise people will get bored and leave the boring faction behind due to the fact that since this is the internet this is how it runs down. . .

Loyalty to a boring faction < Having fun

So yeah, my suggestion is be LESS controling and say "Well you can RP with people outside of DEAP, but if you desert the faction and join anouther we reserve the right to kill your character"

Cause at the moment it is "If you RP with anyone outside our faction we reserve the right to abuse our admin powers to punish you" If what I have been hearing is correct.

If what Tom is hearing is true, I've had nothing to do with it. I want to make that expressly clear.

I have first hand experience with it. I was RPing with geccoy in DEAP territory and geccoy suddenly stopped and said "Quintasin says you need to either join DEAP or leave" and that was the end of that.

They play the 'who has a bigger base/faction' game. Which is derp

HungryHam

Admins can't ask players to leave their territory, since thats basicly ruins the Roleplay. You count It OOC that  an Admin [Or that character] Is flying and Infinitely spawning cobble stone or so. OOC matters can't and should never affect Roleplaying matters. If some one Is to leave the territory,It must come through Roleplay.
