The notification up above is extremely slow, don't rely on it to accurately tell you exactly when the server goes up or down.
Also, can we please stop making servers up/down threads? Its really not needed.

I made that thing and I can assure you it will give you a "Gist" of if the server is up or down.
It's got like a 5 minute variable time so if the server goes down for 3 seconds when it checks, it's down for 5-15 minutes.
I used that so it wouldn't overload the server because it tries to connect, insuring the accuracy (Versus just ping checks which is what some people do. Ping checks confirm the server exists, not if it's up/down. )
And by made I don't mean "Wrote the code" I just created it and learned a ton about it after testing it on myself.
