I must say i like this map and also would like to keep the timeline

I voted for post Ermor with a new map. Soldaria is nice and all but I never like to use the same map twice because of many reasons. Post Ermor because we have alot of history now and I think it would be interesting to continue the trend of progress and keep moving into the future. But I don't mind if we have new characters or not, it's not really a big deal for me. My other preference though would be new map, same timeline.

Apart from that I was wondering, would we keep the village system or would the map wipe mean a new system? I quite like the village system you see.
Awesomeness is the best trait one can have

Given that I have no idea what or when Ermor is/was, I don't have a good enough perspective on the situation to vote properly. Though, given such new status, my bias would be towards a new map AND timeline.

This community is interesting, fun, and only slightly organized. Perfect for someone like me. Such a start over would allow me an opportunity to play a more active role in the future of Aceon, which I would enjoy a lot.

Ermor was an experiment.

We made one big city and made everyone join it.

It was basically the Roman Empire.

And yes, we're keeping the village system regardless of everything.

My vote is on a new map, post Ermor, and then it doesn't really matter with new characters or not.  I like Demons idea, it would be good to keep the timeline going and keep progressing.  Though, there will be no steampunk technologies right?  Due to the collapse of civilized society?

I never liked the map very much. I was hoping for something that was more different then just 'flat with lots of trees'.

I had just got used to the map, and I haven't gotten approval for br just yet, even though it's been a week...
But as much as I know the old one, I'd like to have a fresh start.

Wow, I honestly don't know how describe all the ways each of these spells is horribly overpowered.  Even with your system to gain "mana" and the supplies you need, this is nowhere near balanced.  I think I am going to say, no absolutely not, to this.

He doesn't mean we will go back to Ermor.  He means 'post-Ermor' as in after Ermor's collapse.  Think Europe after the fall of Roman Empire.  It will be like what we are doing now on the server.

What do you guys think, if we go to post Ermor should I:
Go back to being Epeataro Cuwe or,
Kill off Epeataro and bring in Maar?

People, there are rules to this, read them.  Your faction will be removed if it does not meet the requirements listed.

http://www.forums.hypergamer.net/minecraft-aceon-medieval-roleplay/the-age-of-guilds-aceon-rule-supplement-for-aceon-rev-7/

A number of lesser factions have been removed for not following these outlines.

************************************************

Faction Rules:
To Start a Guild/Faction
IN ORDER TO START A FACTION, ONE MUST:

  • Not be leader (actual or theoretical) of a Village, Town or City
  • Have builder's permissions
  • Create a Faction Thread
  • Have at least two other members. (Not including you.)
Village Rules:
To start a village, please make sure you fit these requirements before you begin!
Someone intending to found a village must...

  • Not be in a Faction
  • Have a building that is at at least 4x4x4 designated as the "Village Assembly"
  • Notify an Admin/Super Mod
  • Have at least two people (yourself included) who want to start a village.
********************************************************************************

Mushroom Kingdom, The Acadamh, Army of Alura, Sosvaski, you all require a thread for your factions.

Might also want to comment on the fact that it doesn't follow the structure of ritualist magic anyway

I knew it was over powered and I knew it was almost impossible odds to be accepted, but seriously edvyn? I followed the ritualist quite natruly (in fact if I recall Feerman saying your spells were more sorcerer type) So just fuck off, no one asked you.

Mage's Name: Michael Levetrix

Mage Type: Mage-Smith

Mantra: Nature

Spells/Abilities:

Some spellcasters use magic to destroy entire armies, countries, or planes. Some call forth demons, angels, or otherworldly creatures to their bidding, binding them to the will of the caster. Others raise the dead for evil purposes, transforming even themselves into ghoulish things. None of these describe the magic that Michael possesses. His is a connection with the earth itself, requesting its aid and wisdom in all things.

// Spell Layout:
Spell Name (Mana Cost, Casting Time, Spell duration): In-character description of Michael's actions when casting the spell. Though, all spells cast cause his hands and the tool he currently holds to glow an ocean blue.

Actual mechanical effects of the spell

MANA COSTS: Michael begins the day with 100 mana, refreshing every 12 hours at sunrise and sunset. At these times, Michael must find a small, secluded area at which to make a small prayer and offering to the earth. If such opportunity is missed, he must wait until the next available prayer-time to recharge his mana to full. Otherwise, he retains what mana was leftover.

NOTE: All of Michael's mana, as well as all of his spells, are both stored and channeled through a special pickaxe forged in the magma of an active volcano he carries with him at all times. It is the center and focus of his magic, and removal, separation, or destruction of this tool will leave Michael completely powerless until another can be made.
//

Terra Expiscor, Earth Sense (20 Mana, 30 sec, 30 sec): With intense concentration, Michael will lay his hands upon the earth and call upon an inner sense. Pulses of energy specifically attuned to a mineral or ore type expand from the touched point. At a certain distance, the pulses decay and fade beyond sense. Within this range, the location of the closest deposit of adequate sized material is returned to Michael's mind.

30x30x(bedrock to top) area centered on Michael, direction of the closest deposit of ore type is known for the duration. Height is unknown.

Infragillis Locus, Unbreakable position (10 Mana, 5 sec, 10 sec): Michael bends his knees and crosses his weapon with his off arm. Small shards of earth float in a ring around him and he becomes perfectly stiff, chanting a small prayer under his breath. For a short time, Michael cannot be moved from his stance, or from his connection to the earth at his feet. His skin becomes as hard as steel, but he cannot move for the duration. The immovable object, to be matched only by an unstoppable force.

Read description. NOTE: The earth below Michael can be moved, taking him with it. Michael must have any sediment (dirt, gravel, etc.), any stone (smooth, cobble, bricks, stonebricks, etc..), or obsidian below his feet. This spell cannot be cast without this condition.

Erumpo ex Inferus, Erupt from Below (100 Mana, 1 sec (see descrip), instantaneous): The words spring forth Michael's mouth as a volcano erupts, with rivaling awe and volume. As he does, his pickaxe glows brilliantly, reaching an intense white light. He slams the pickaxe into the ground beneath him, causing the surrounding earth to erupt from beneath. After it has settled, a large crater is all that remains. After such a cataclysm, Michael is left completely drained and must rest before asking the earth for more power.

10min, 30max Diameter, 6 block depth hemisphere of solid dirt and rock explode upwards, disintegrating and leaving a crater. Michael cannot cast spells until 2 prayers have passed. At the third, he is recharged and able to cast again.

Calculus Iacio, Earth Bolt (1 Mana, 1 sec, instantaneous): Michael scoops a small amount of earth into his hands and crushes it between them, forming a palm-sized circular stone. He then hurls the stone, now glowing similarly to his hands, at miraculous speed. So fast is it, that it can crack and break steel freshly cooled from the smithy.

Small bolt of earth, block damage equivalent to diamond pickaxe breaking smoothstone block. .5 heart damage if a player is hit.

Hold up, are you saying we can't use factions the plugin on town/villages unless we have a faction thread and guild hall? I've read the revision and there isnt any thing about not using the plugin just for protection (No one likes grieved buildings)

However, if you removed Tored Tribe I can understand why, it is small and it's in control of probably the ONLY iron source, but there are NO rules for primitive tribes or if they even need a town/village or faction to use the faction plugin. (Avol told me that it was alright to use faction plugin to protect when I came back to Aceon)

I'm not really active at all on our Minecraft server, but I'd think a whole new time line would be fun. You need a wipe every now and then, just to keep everybodys interest.

But you have to realize that wiping an rp server constantly is like going up to you little brother's sand castle and kicking it down, then going to everyone else's sand castle, kicking it down, then doing this every time they rebuild.....

I hope you mean this for roleplay, because even mods don't have the ability to see where ores are.  I don't know how you would actually carry it out.  Please explain.

I don't know about this one..  Anything that leaves a large crater or that has the potential to destroy an entire part of towns is just a little bit too much, no matter the mana cost or recharge time.  Can you edit it to be a little bit less powerful?  The mana cost and recharge time can decrease if you do.

Calculus Iacio, Earth Bolt (1 Mana, 1 sec, instantaneous): Michael scoops a small amount of earth into his hands and crushes it between them, forming a palm-sized circular stone. No thanks.  Aceon has a good history.  Each server wipe that we have had is translated as a different age of Aceon.  So far we have had a good couple ages linked together to form an interesting storyline.  This next one I think will be interesting, if the vote passes for it.

I agree with Jagger, a server wipe can be good, it creates new factions, new interest, and it gives new people a chance to better work themselves into the community, but every time you wipe, for the people who did work hard on their factions, and were still having fun, it can be a massive pain in the ass to lose all your hard work that you have centered your roleplay around.

TD:DR-  Yes, it can be good to wipe the server in some instances, but it should only be done when it is absolutely necessary, not arbitrarily.  Forcing people to rebuild means you are forcing them to play minecraft more than you are getting them to roleplay.

Recreas, please vacate the premises.
Your opinion has been duly noted and ignored.
Srs why you in my minecraft?

We use the former maps/revisions of Aceon to form our History (Rather than make one up that has no significance)
While actual lore wont mean much to new players, it definitely keeps people invested in Aceon.
