Feudal realm of Dalothen

The Feudal Realm of Dalothen consists of many nobles ruled by one King. Each noble depending on his rank owns a bit of land and has his own handful of knights and nobles under his service. In times of war he can Call upon his local men-at-arms and levy Bowman who will aid him.

Ranks:

King: Ruler of all of Dalothen. Can command every noble lord and has the power of Veto. Keep in account that a Marquees or someone of lower nobility will first of all listen to his own Lord and not the King. Only in times when it is time to call upon all nobility the King has the power to do so.

Prince: Of Noble birth and heir to the throne. Owns a duchy just like a Duke does. Has the same powers. The only difference is that he is called a prince and can later be crowned King.

Duke: Rules a duchy of Dalothen. A Duke has certain nobles and knights at his service. After the king he has the highest power in his own lands and those of his vassals. He commands the Marquees whom he give a small part of their land to.

Marquees: Gets a piece of land (called a County)  on which he can settle and where he needs to take care of the land that has been given to him. One of the lower Nobilities. Has a few knight at his service. They firstly obey their Duke in times of small struggles. In certain situations the king my ask the Marquees to rally his soldiers for arms in battle.

Viscount:  Holds his name after a certain region within the Kingdom. Owns his own small piece of land and owns a small Castle or Mansion. Listens to his lord (Duke or Marquees)

Knight/Baron: Fights for his lord in times of need. Likes to spend his time in the royal court and on tourney's. Owns his own Mansion.

Men-at-Arms: The local militia. Not skilled fighters and more like brawlers. They keep guard of the towns and villages.

Peasant Folk: The heart of the kingdom. They work on the fields and do all the hard work while the Nobility is having fun in their big castles or mansions.




How do you get up in Rank? Very simple. Show you are chivalrous in battle and during times of peace. Get more renown by winning in tournaments or help expand the land. The King will reward you greatly when you do this. (note: everyone starts as a Knight, Men-at-Arms or peasant and work their way up. You can't become prince by going up in rank. This one I will choose myself and see who is worthy of being my heir.)

The land of Dalothen consists of a maximum of:

1 King/Queen     (worempie) 
1 Prince/Princess
3 Dukes/Duchess
5 Marquees/Marchioness
8 Viscounts/Viscountess
10 Barons/Baronesses  (feerman2010)
Unlimited amount of Knights, Men-at-Arms and Peasants

Important! Note that a Duchess can marry the King or a Viscount can marry a Marchioness. Onced married you gain that title.


Every Noble has its own Flag and insigne. After you have become a noble you may pick your own coat-of-arms. You get your name according to your nobility and where you rule. For example Duke Richard of Wernivest.  In case of Men-at-Arms... they wear the local coat-of-arms of that village or region. Knights are noble born and have their own coat-of-arms.

Coat-of-arms are now available. Open up with photoshop or whatever you use and choose the heraldry you think fits your char. Have fun ;)

Regions are fixed and can be chosen from. Knights and Barons can make their own title according to their family name. For example Baron Charles Eyoreth

Duchies (for Duke and Prince): Whitedon, Armayl, Colhampton, Grimdare
Counties (for Marquees): Stevenlock, Manswich, Folkeport, Warringnock, Heminia

Local Regions (for Viscounts): Elford, Darkwin, Baldley, Boasthelm, Groanstone, Steedmond, Grimland, Taland, Falwan, Talun, Olund, Arowen.

I have added 3 Standard skins which can be edited to your liking. I remind everyone when making a character to come up with a believable background. I prefer to have more human chars with a normal but clever background then all kinds of grim past dragonslayers. Just for the record. Coat-of-Arms will be added soon so if you have no luck in making your own you can pick one.

I will be away this weekend but I can still accept your applications... I just wont be able to come on minecraft as I wont be at my own home. Will post more info about joining the faction and who to contact on the minecraft server during my absence later today.

No offence to anyone but i prefer to keep this thread from now on more about applications and if you have suggestions, questions or anything else just PM me and I will write back. Thanks ;)
