Valatar had received an odd letter from one of his couriers, it was sealed with an Ena'thi Grassland seal, which set a sour taste in his mouth as he glared blankly at the sealed letter. He opened it carefully, half expecting an explosion, and half expecting to be cursed. Though, neither seemed to have happened.

He eyes began reading over the letter and he was a bit surprised to find out that he was being invited to  a wedding, though, he was disgusted that whoever sent this, thought of him as their servant or a vassal. He took the quill from the desk he was sitting at and began making proper edits to the paper. Crossing out certain things. After a few minutes, he decided to re-scribe it to a different piece of paper. After he was done, and had selected his best soldiers from the City's guard, he had the a courier return the new piece of paper. Later, he looked at the crossed out letter and crumbled it up, then he burnt it.

QuoteI am sending this to confirm that I, Sir Valatar Hars,

[ X ] Will be attending this Union
[ _ ] Will not be attending this union

I Will,

[ X ] Be coming with a contingent of Commonwealth Soldiers
[ _ ] Have a guest (his/her) name is: ________________________

I would very much appreciate that the following meal would be reserved for me (and my guest):

[ _ ] Fine Athurgian steak in a burandery sauce with pummeled squash
[ _ ] Poultry ala Rex
[ _ ] Diamondhead Trout, Cooked in honey and Chansey Wine, with Verdan beans.
[ X ] NONE, FOR THE FOOD MAY BE POSIONED

Signed with the seal of the UAC,

The Arch Duke of the United Aceon Commonwealth, Sir Valatar Hars

Wolf, I notice you doing this a lot.  The region itself is called the Ena'thi Lower Grasslands, but that is nowhere in any of our titles or names.  Like Canada is in North America, but you don't say that you received a letter from North America.  You would say Canada.  In this case, you would say DEAP.  If you want to be formal, The Alliance Between The Druchii Empire and The Auctus Provectum.

Also, I believe it goes without saying I will be there.

This is a period event and may be changed later.

The temperature of the world is slowly increasing, it's getting warmer outside and the once green lands of Aceon are slowly turning into a desert. First the world flooded then the water is gradually vanishing, and it is becoming a struggle to find water, which is now usually only found underground.

Over the coming days/weeks, the climate of Aceon will slowly change into more of a desert one, with water slowly drying up. The overall idea is to create a new kind of rp event. It rains less and when it rains the water is warm, and is not providing enough water to keep the lands green.

Due to the drought, the value of water has risen greatly, it's more worth then it has ever been before.

The event starts from this very moment.

Lord Admiral Hektor Dantius Was Busy signing Loyalist Auxillairy Recruitment papers In his Office In victory bay, late at night when a series of Knocks came from his door, he Called for them to enter, expecting his piping hot Novarium Tea, With buttered biscuits, And was Disapointed when The Courier walked in and handed him the letter, the Admiral shooed him off and opened it beside his Oil lamp and read it quickly, He took a quill from the incpot on his desk and filled it out quickly, making several minor alterations, Before sliding it back into it's envelope, leaning back in his chair, and slipping into deep thought on what Powdered Wig he should wear.

The effects of the event are, Longer nights, More random encounters with werewolfs{Which do exist in aceon} and, strong raid/wind storms.

Summary: This day is the one day of the year when the white, dwarf binary star, Al'eph swings out of its synchronus orbit with the main-sequence star of Aceon, Alpha-1 Vulpeculus Arae. During this time, the sky is 15% brighter and the air is clear of clouds and rain. It is also during this time that monumental things are said to happen and the arrival of the Druchii as well as the sealing of the Provectum's gates was heralded by this event, in thier many years ago.

It is a common tale that on this day that crops grow twice as fast, fruit tastes sweeter, fire burns hotter and the night feels calmer for the time until the next dawn. These rumours are half-true. It is said that Al'eph, the White Dwarf was created by the Druchii, thousands of years earlier when they first visited this plane and later departe. The truth or reliability of that story is wholly in question. Aside that, The Little Star seems to grant a feeling of hightened power to any and all magisters, mages and anyone else dealing in magic. Chemistry and Science is thrown askew during this day and such things commonly compared to Zero Point Energy systems are possible, but for this one day only.

Actually, the idea was there for quite some time, then WE fucked up a command I ran, and indeed a small part of the world got flooded,
I decided to run the event earlier. The orginal idea was either a flood who struck on the server or a drought.

so here is an event I guess
make it like an end times event
like the judgement period
rain for a long period of time
massive flooding
no rain- drought
sand- waist land
mysterious lava flooding
and then a peacful land of Aceon???

Here's an idea to tack onto the current one, have two players play as two of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse: Famine and Death. Have them as VERY TRUSTED members. Set up events where they pass through a town for a few days, and then that town is stricken with those two exact things. Even DEAP won't be able to be awesome against it unless Rag abuses to get out of it(Just noticed that LITTLE problem right thar.)since DEAP is already a powerhouse that rapes anything they don't like.

Summary: Two horsemen (Death and Famine) would be the precursor to something bad happening to the larger civilizations and town on the server. Leads to good RP and overall awesome if you can find two people that won't end up being faggots with their roles. Good luck in that.

Well personally I think that Death should be replaced with War because he is also known for Violence. Some people might not willingly rp themselves randomly dieing, so violence would be better because it would make people uneasy of each other and still may cause some deaths. It would be like a civil war inside a city where the minority/majority are attacking people. I just think that rping death would not be as rp rich as rping violence. Plus if the violent people are also trusted members then the people of the city will think twice and try to cure them before putting them down... One last question, how long will the curses last?

June 2nd - first day
-well i guess i'l go ahead and get this started with. i'm Alex, and i farm 'round this place called haven. i do sum farming for the place, i get a pretty income for it too. seems like im like tha only farmer 'round. i get alot of wheat, sugar cane, and heck i even have cactus. i decided to do this cus i got some paper from my work so i thought it would be nice that i start to do some vocabuary fixing. well i ain't got nothing to write now, so i'l keep this little book hidden in the cellar and.. that's it.

June 2nd - Strange Meeting
-Well I just got back from this harbor place, I got to look at there books and learn about.. capitilization or sumthing like that. I guess i'l start using it why I write, but I still do need to learn a 'lil more. Why I was there I met this girl, they call her the Empress. Gosh, you shoulda seen all the suckups to her. A guard and this little harbor guy, looked like he goes on boats all the time. She says she's from this place, I can't remember how to spell it, but if I visit I can't return. Heck, I might check it out sometime, I doubt she will get to attached to me though to let me leave. Alrighty, back in the cellar with you.

June 3rd - A Normal Day
-I guess i'l start writin again. I been visitting that dock place, the Victory Bay or somethin like that. It's a pretty borin' place until someone fancy shows up. The only person i've really talked to was that empress, everyone else is uptight in colorful clothes. What is up with these people, they all so different from where i'm from. Oh well, guess i'l never learn. This'l be a prety short day, nothin' to do except for tend to my crops.

June 3rd - Lonely Night
-Ok well tonights a very boring night, guess i'l start about this meteor thing that happened not to long ago. Everyone in tah city was freaking out about it. Gosh, everyone was running around and freaking out. I was simply sitting in my cellar all good, I heard about some demon stuff coming out of the meteor. Alot of people fought them off, hell I woulda if I had to. I wouldn't travel around just for some stupid meteor, i'd defend my homestead though.

Following the impact of the meteor in Aceon all hell broke loose. Quite litteraly. After the relentless attacks throughout the night, Novarium even putting its differences asside with many "sub-humans" momentarily in order to hold the line in Victory Bay. Though while the battle raged on above ground, the Colonel and a Sergent made a disturbing discovery in the depths of Victory Bay. A portal. Not a "steam portal", (the combination of magic and steam technologys to create a semi-reliable portal) as they were known, one of pure and evil magic. Now an expedition is being organised to explore what is on the other side of this portal. Made up of members of a "penal legion" the men sent were given a choice. The gallows, or the Colonels mission. Though little do they know, either way they're going straight to hell.

Rules and Guidelines

- This event is open to all. If you would like to participate, please post below, and specify wether you wish to be a part of the Novarium Penal Legion, or a demon/zombie/ghost/whatever.

- If you join the Novarium troops, you will be playing as a new character for the duration of the event. It is HIGHLY recommended you store any and all items in a chest. You will be given weapons and supplies. If your Penal Legion character dies, it is an automatic PK. You will be equipped with a musket and a bayonet. Muskets can only fire one round, and take a while to reload, though they are very powerful. Please note that you will be scared shitless IC, as you are litteraly in hell.

- In the event a Penal Legion character survives the mission (it is extremely unlikely this will happen), that character may be transfered to the Novarium faction if you choose (and show good roleplay skills).

- "Nether things" (for lack of better term), it is your goal to kill as many Penal Legion troops as you can. This doesnt mean you can go fire some mega-fire-ball-lazer-thing and kill half the troops, it means it is your objective to slow thier progress and make it as costly for them as possible. When you are killed, NLR (new life rule) will apply to the demon. Simply run off and hide for about a minute then you may go back to attacking the troops. Pretty much like if you've ever played L4D Versus mode.

- Many of the deamons will be Mindless Ghouls, zombies, more or less, Dead Novarium Soldiers Used like puppets by the Higher up deamons to Demoralise the Penal Legion forces. Then their are Deamons Who are More advanced, often mutated horribly, and with Unnatural abilities, and lastly, is the admiral, The Nether has chosen him as the Leader of the Deamon hoard that Grenellin faces. The Ghouls cannot reason, and are Zombies, In everything but name and origin, The Daemons Themselves, the mutated ones, are more intelligent, and More resillient to bullets. and the lord admiral, Well who knows?

- This event will be held Monday, June 6th at 4:30 PM PST (GMT -8). The fighting in it will be RP based, no madly punching and shooting eachother unless otherwise agreed upon at some point (though lets try and keep the STK to a minimum).

Anyone and everyone is welcome to join, not just Novarium members from any particular division. The Penal Legion characters will be temporary event characters and are completely separate from everything else. That means that if you are for example with DEAP, and you want to participate in the event, you're more than welcome to, as long as you put on the Penal Legion skin or a zombie/ghoul/demon skin for the events duration. Once the event is over, simply take off the skin, and resume your usual characters like nothing happened.

P.S. The Music is the Kraken theme from Pirates of The Caribean.

Entry 1,

Dearest journal,

Today, as every other day, was utterly boring, though I heard of a false soldier who put a sign tempting war between the Horde of Valhalla, and the Expedition. I sent for the vikings, and discussed how it was not us, and then they took me to their city. They are quite the friendly people, and civilized, for vikings, they let us eat, and sleep, in their inn. Then we get to business, they offered us an alliance, which I shall tell the replacement Lord-Admiral about, but that is all.

Title: Re: The Lore of the World of Tomorrow
Post by: mrkddsmn on 16-06-2011
... Well, I went into hell today and discovered some bugs. In some places, blocks can't be placed, even though it's just the wilderness. Maybe the coordinates from "earth" also protect them in hell.

Teleporting home teleports to the hell coords in earth. Then you have to teleport again to go home.

Also, someone tell Bobby that planting mushrooms was a VERY BAD idea, as the WHOLE NETHER IS COVERED WITH THEM!!! -_- It's very annoying and stuff.
--> This could be used for RP though. Since the Nether is hell, the mushrooms could be a poisonous virus that was spawned by Netherlings because of the amount of the living in a place where only dead should exist. It is their intention to poison all humans who enter and have them spread it to their world. The virus grants control of their bodies to the daemons.
Title: Re: The Lore of the World of Tomorrow
Post by: Comradebritish on 16-06-2011
For one, that teleporting home thing isn't really a problem bro. Second, mushrooms grow in the nether naturally and no, the virus is a powergamy idea that reaks of poor thought.
Title: Re: The Lore of the World of Tomorrow
Post by: mrkddsmn on 17-06-2011
I don't think they grow in the Nether naturally, because I've never seen the Nether COVERED EVERYWHERE in mushrooms before this. Also, someone told me the Emperor_Bobby planted them.

And the event possibility is getting good responses in the forum for EVENT SUGGESTIONS. Go there.
Title: Re: The Lore of the World of Tomorrow

mushrooms grow naturally in the nether, whoever said i planted them Was only partially correct, i planted Samples in novarium's lab, ones i had picked from the Ground Outside the lab. so. its not my fault.
Title: Re: The Lore of the World of Tomorrow

Title: Re: The Lore of the World of Tomorrow
Post by: Sir_Therim on 18-06-2011
uhhh... mushrooms spawn naturly (excuse spelling) in the nether, with the recent update, mushrooms spread, because the nether is entirely dark, it is quite possible that the nether will be a hell covered in mushrooms, rather than a hell with a couple of splotches of mushrooms
Title: Re: The Lore of the World of Tomorrow
Post by: mrkddsmn on 18-06-2011
according to Notch, they are supposed to spread slowly. I don't think they are slow enough.
Title: Re: The Lore of the World of Tomorrow
Post by: Andrew Weasley on 19-06-2011
If you think about it, the server is always up (ironicly not right now :P) so the mushrooms are going to spread SLOWLY but all the time. Say you play singleplayer, you don't run your singleplayer game 24/7 like a multiplayer server. So as long as the server is up the mushrooms in the nether will be spreading slowly. Its no ones fault at all. No one ruined the Nether, no one is to blame (possibly Notch for allowing them to BE in the Nether and for them to spread.)

So yeah, just deal with it.

Solis Fesitivus - The Sun Festival

A celebration of the Sun, during its favored season, Summer. It is said that the God Solis, who resides within the Sun and provides it with it's energy, sings unbidden for the Summer, as his sister, Luna, steps down from the favored pedestal, awaiting next Winter, filling the world with positive warmth and energy.
Ringmaster Aurea of the Solis Fesitivus, travels from city to city with her band of dancers, acrobats, and other entertainers. The arrival of the Novarium colonials, a nation whose capitol, is preserved in a permanent twilight from it's factories has led Ringmaster Aurea to set up this year's festival within Victory Bay, to welcome Solis, and embrace the city in his glory.

Im glad someones logical. And tbh... what harm are the mushrooms actually doing?

They're not harming anyone they're just an eyesore. If you visit the nether it can ruin the atmosphere for some I suppose...

I always wonder "How did he get that scar?" Or "Where's he from?" And now, you can answer!
Just post your Char's backstory here. Simple or a full blown novel, I don't care. I personally
love reading stuff like that.

If you hate writing lots, take this... "questioner quiz"

Name:
From:
Left:
Ended up in Aceon:
Other:

Simple really. Just be imaginative. I make amendments to my char's story, depending on the place, time and events. I always keep a few extra skins handy to represent scenes.

A good skin editor (if you don't have one, and want to edit) is: http://www.minersneedcoolshoes.com (http://www.minersneedcoolshoes.com)
Hope you post, and hope you like!
You can even post, pictures of the area (roughly) or draw isles/continents/etc. in a photo editor/creator.

I go way deep, so if you are like me, well... glad to know I'm not the only one *Crowd laughs and applauses*

Well, enjoy!

If people rate your story up by commenting "Oh [Insert OOC name's] story is awesome!" "That's so leet!" "N00b you need some ski115! BIATICH!"

Yeah.. I will post it up here.

Also, if I think it's really THAT GOOD, I'll post it up here. Plus, keep in mind, the "questioner quiz" fill outs will probably not be up here, unless it's REALLY good, probably not.

I will research on a book mod for the server.

Try to keep the comments, mainly backstory.

I will ask a BlackStar if there is anything he wants to do with this, maybe a competition or something.

Stories ~ Aceon Census Book 1

Sandred - Demonizer: Sandreds climb to power had been set very early on in his life. As a young boy he had always been interested in the complex way that the world he lived in operated. Eventually, as he grew older he started to research shipping in the top university at the time. The year he left university his family suffered a small tragedy. His late uncle Fertyl had passed away leaving his job as the guard to a small Novarium vessel open. Sandred leapt at the opportunity deciding that shipping may not be the job for him, and perhaps he would enjoy a life of fighting more.

Unfortunately Sandred was never properly trained in the art of warfare and so whilst the vessel named "The Jewel of Industry", was making its way across hostile waters. It was brutally attacked by Pirates. Sandred watched horrified as the men he had worked with were butchered and skewered around him. Luckily he had been assigned to protect the captain of the ship at the time of the attack. The captain "Yolgar" had fought his way to the edge of the ship and had jumped overboard. Sandred made the split second decision to follow.

They swam for miles and eventually reached land though extremely tired and exhausted. Yolgar had suffered a small wound in the battle which had become infected in the polluted waters meaning his condition was now life threatening. He was sent to the nearest doctor and treated by having the wound (on his leg), amputated. Sandred suffered a minor head injury but nothing more. Yolgar was a very un-honourable man though and took vengeance against the young guard blaming him for his leg and ordered his men to kill him. Sandred however, had already fled the city. Word had gotten around that Yolgar might want Sandred dead, so he had used his common sense and had left.

Sandred spent his next few days in a tavern betting with the local low lifes until one day a very rich man opened the door. The man entered very casually and swayed up to the barkeep. Meanwhile five thieves had appeared from behind the man and started to harass him. When the man continued to protest one of the thieves pulled out a knife. Sandred knew neither why he had done it nor how. But he swiftly pushed aside a man walking past, un-holstered the gun from the same man and fired a shot straight through the heart of one of the thieves. The other four thieves descended on Sandred and he was hopelessly outnumbered. Sandred closed his eyes and waited for the inevitable. Whilst his eyes were closed two men had stepped forward; one giant armed with a mace and another small alert man wielding a cutlass and a cape. They expertly dispatched the group of men and rescued the startled man. Sandred opened his eyes to find five thieves dead at his feet and two armed men holding weapons menacingly at his chest.

The End

No one knew why it happened, Valhalla said it was the breath of a mighty dragon sent by Odin, Novarium said it was due to rising temperatures and winds, the Dwarves believed it was the coming of the Great Warden. The Knights of Dalothen spent days in their churches, praying to their God but it didn't leave.
If you were unlucky enough to be outside at this time of calamity, you wouldn't be able to hide from it. There is was, shrouding the once clear, blue sky. A blanket of smoke, ash, fire and lava. Brimstone showering across our realm, burning cities to dust, scorching grown men causing them to scream out like new born babies. The solution from Novarium was to remain in stone buildings and wait for the wind to carry it away. Perhaps if we had listened to then the world would still be alive, flourishing with wild life. Not the barren wasteland our crafts turned it into. But Novarium were always the ones with clear heads. Unfortunately others weren't.

The Horde of Valhalla knew the end was upon us. And what do Vikings do when there's no way to survive. They take every last person down with 'em. The Vikings went to their good friends the Dwarves, the people who'd taught us the ways of rune magic, the way of forging items beyond the power of man. Magnus Frihet told the dwarves that

'No matter if it's The Wardens work of Odin's Dragon our world as we know it is coming to an end. So... we might as well go out with honour and please the Gods. We need to slaughter all non believers of the old Gods. Only then will ours be happy and Accept us into Valhalla and you into your final resting place.'

That alliance probably destroyed the world. The dwarves had mastered the power to use fire water to their advantage. From the Kingdom of Deepground they marched. they marched with our 1000 trained Vikings ready for bloodshed. Taken from all outposts on one final bloodbath. They marched... to the defenceless Free Cities.

Novarium had heard of what was going on in the North and knew will fighting just Valhalla or DKG is one thing... to take on both. They would need help. Novarium went to the realm of Dalothen where the Lord
Admiral himself spoke to King Ruben.

'As you know we do not believe in the old Gods or your God. We allow all to have whatever beliefs they choose, but you and your churches. You are in a far worse position then us my fri-'

The King raised his hand.

'You seem to forget my Admiral. That I was once a Viking and I was once fighting under the banner of the wolf for Jarl Frihet. Hm, Frihet. Do you know what that means admiral? Of course you don't, you're so blinded when you are threatened. Frihet means Freedom in the old tongue. Magnus was driven out of his realm by dishonour and treachery he fights against oppression and-'

A messenger ran in sweating and out of breath. After a couple of seconds of heavy breathing he stood up straight, bowed to the King, saluted Lord Admiral and started to speak.

'Sir, the Free Cities are gone. All that's left if a pile of ash and the charred bones of the men living in Free Cities.'

Ruben smiled

'You see Admiral, he is not a savage, he did not kill the women or chil-'

The messenger interrupted him

'Pardon me my lord... but you should really here the rest of this...' After a few seconds of silence he continues 'The women were raped... as well as some children, then they were all bound and taken away to be sold into slavery. Some have been forced to fight in their ranks... and some, er, kept, er to...'

Ruben screamed.

'Out with it lad!'

'Be eaten... if the food scavenged from Free Cities runs out...'

The Lord Admiral smiles half heartedly as he is disheartened by the news but.

'You see now King. His name may mean freedom. And he may be against oppression but only to his own kind. Everyone else could rot for all the cares. Where is he heading now messenger?'

The messenger looks hesitant but speaks.

'To Victory Bay sir.'

The Lord Admiral suddenly looks a lot more serious... and dark

'Ruben I trust you will come with us to Victory Bay, the slaughter and massacre of our civilians will not! Happen. So this time I'm not asking. I'm telling you, The Realm of Dalothen will fight with us! And we shall crush the Horde of Valhalla!'

Screams of happiness are heard from the Novarium navy. Ruben says

'You didn't have to tell me. Magnus... has changed. He probably doesn't even remember me, or any of his allies. Free Cities were allied with the Horde. And he slaughtered them. We will , march with you admiral... we will march.'

Novarium and the Realm of Dalothen travelled back to Victory Bay by ship, and arrived seeing the Horde marching to their gates. King Ruben looked hesitant. The Admiral noticed and said.

'Stop worrying Ruben we are protected by the walls of Victory Bay, and its cannons. They'll be dead before they even reach the city.'

Ruben still worried replied

'No admiral, they are Vikings and dwarves. The people you call savages may be savages but they do not fear death. They will run at the walls with no hesitation from the cannons. They outnumber us... they don't have civilians. All people living in the Deepgrounds of Valhalla are Warriors. Without our civilians fighting the odds are against us.'

The Admiral looked slightly disappointed.

'Ruben, I'm not making my untrained civilians fight. And you forget we are defending. It'll be like fighting a quarter of their army!'

Ruben looking slightly angry now

'You don't get it! He may be a savage but he's not dumb... he'll force you out of your city somehow...'

Just then they heard Magnus scream out.

'Warriors, we have come here to gain the approval from our god and get into the afterlife. Though our goal is the afterlife we are not here to die. We must take blood. We are true warriors! They cower in their forts and their ships, fighting behind technology from far away. We bring the battle to our faces. We stare death in the eyes. And thrush a sword into it.' Magnus now turns to Victory Bay 'While they hide! Come out and fight like true men. On an open battle field. The army and navy of Novarium are meant to be the best in the world. They why? Why do you need the advantage of walls? Come out Admiral and show your men that you're a true leader. Come out and prepare to die!'

With that Magnus smashed his axe into his shield. The admiral looked to Ruben. They could hear the pounding of the whole horde smashing their weapons into their shields. Ruben said.

'I told you. And he's right. If you don't go out your men won't respect you. They'll think you are a coward and will not accept you as their leader. And an army fighting without a leader... even inside walls will die. You must go out victory bay. Command bravery and take the battle there.'

Without a word the Admiral stood and turned to his army.

'We are leaving the city!'

The cheers of Victory Bay surprised the Admiral.., he was glad to have Ruben by his side.

The Army of Novarium now marched towards the horde. And without any warning the horde came streaming down the hills. Yet... at least some of the horde did. Novarium started volleying musket rounds into those running down, death everywhere. Without struggle. But then one got too close to the Lord Admiral and he had to use his bayonet. It sliced cleanly through the non armoured person. Non Armoured? The Admiral took a closer look. It was a farmer of Free Cities... with a rusty sword stabbed through his hand... gagged. It was a diversion. He looked around and saw the true horde. Almost 1500 men behind him running towards him. He screamed

'Turn around! Turn around! It's a trap!'

But as they did it was too late. Bayonets are no match for swords and Axes. Almost a hundred men died instantly. So they retreated from where the Free City slaves had come. But as they ran they saw... the dwarves of DKG pouring lava down the hills... they were trapped. This is when Ruben took command.

'All knights surround the Novariums! Use your armour and shields to protect them as they volley rounds over you. They wear no armour, exploit that!'

This worked. Hundreds of Vikings were slaughtered as they ran onto the swords of Dalothian Knights, or getting hit by Musket balls.  But they were too much. Slowly knight after knight died and their ranks were growing thin... as the last knight fell only Ruben remained in armour. The Horde swarmed in and slaughtered the remaining Novariums... at a price. Bayonets proved deadly weapons. And by the end only 100 vikings Ruben, and the Admiral remained. Magnus had both with blades to their necks.

'You fought well, and almost won. Perhaps if you had worshipped the right gods this wouldn't have happened... but it did and-'

The Lord Admiral burst out laughing. Magnus enraged hit him with the handle of his axe shattering his jaw. But still laughter. Magnus screamed.

'What are you laughing at?'

And the Admiral still laughing replied.

'You killed us all. Every last person, the civilians of Free Cities, the Civilians of Novarium. And I will be smiling. When you slit my throat because I know that you and your army will go through the food in Victory bay in a week, then you will die, slowly. With pain and disease.' The Admiral stood up the blade on his throat causing him to bleed. 'And I will look down on you. You insignificant savage. And laugh.'

With that he ripped his head to the right and killed himself on the blade that kept him hostage. Then Ruben spoke.

'Magnus... do you remember the time you told me of your fight. Before Aceon. Back in the north. You told me of how you were betrayed and how you have come down to fight with honour and teach people that not all men of the north are savage... well you failed.'

And with that Ruben ripped his head to the right and also killed himself on the blade that kept him hostage.

And the Admiral was right... the reaming horde went through all the food. And died slowly through famine and disease in much pain. And as the last Viking took his final breath. The sky cleared and he saw the sun. And though...

'We were all wrong.'

I believe Corporals and above have armor, and some of us also choose to carry swords (Like myself.)

You also didn't master the Admiral's personality at all, he isn't a gentleman, he's a complete douche, hence why I call him "Trollington."

No. Just, no.

We also outnumber you, so you have 1500 suddenly come up and ambush us? No.

I agree with you Maxi, but it was written by someone who doesn't know the characters well enough. No-one would be able to make the ending perfect. You would have to know every character perfectly. Although it's a fitting ending, there are always going to be flaws. Like the fact that Tollington would have gone straight for the general and not the mass army to lower morale. The leaving the city was a nice touch, and the numbers don't really make sense but still. Although what I would have liked is to say how my character went out. Perhaps every time we restart the map it could be an alternate ending to Aceons people?

Title: Re: The Lore of the World of Tomorrow

Not to mention the navy would be on boats bombarding the vikings with cannons... But seriously come on. How the hell is he meant to know everything Novarium has and would do in a war situation? If you take in everything that Novarium has and would have done in the story. Then Novarium have won, because of their navy fighters and soldiers on the ground. Freecities wouldn't have fought, DKG didn't really fight they just poured lava down the hills. That would mean the vikings would have been killed and then the world wouldn't have ended, which was the whole point of the story...

lupus Exagerated the numbers, For an IC dramatic story, it wouldnt be as good if it had 15 vikings, 4 novarium, and 6 knights, would it? I liked it, but you didn't get my character right, But it's fine, i think we've only met 3 times ic.

Becase of the numbers of people on MCRP, we tend to scale things up by about 100. So if a 5 VS 5 fight happens, story-wise it'd be 500 VS 500. That being said, novarium was an army of about 300 men, 200 Auxilarys, and roughly 600 crewmen.

as much as i like your intelectually stimulating conversation Im afraid i must finish you. The whole point of this story was that yes Valhalla did 'ween' the battle but they lost the war (sorry for cliche) they doomed the world and ended up killing themselves. A tragic climax.

i'm quite alright with the ending, because i know Lupus didn't Know much about Novarium, I don't Make an arse of Myself About the story, Because, to be awfully blunt, if he wrote Novarium accurately, Then It'd probally be the Other way around, novarium wouldnt hesitate to conscript the civillians, they wouldn't leave the city's wall, rather the Lord-admiral would order colonel grenellin (who definitly should have had an appearance, as he's my No.2)  To Ensure the soldiers didn't retreat, Their respect wouldn't be Neccisary. And the Lord admiral would Never commit suicide. Not to mention the aforementioned navy, the ships would have blocked the Waterways, and bombarded the Vikings from the boats. It's a very good story, you jsut need to appreciate that Lupus didn't have The Whole Picture, Still, Great work Lupus.

Updated, I didn't forget about the admiral just because I lost interest in Aceon. This story has more or less veered completely from actual events, with the names and personalities of the other factions The only pieces that remain Truely the same. It's still a Fun write, and from what i've heard, a good read, if you ignore my horrible grammar. :D

Journal of Hektor Dantius.

December 7th, 1756.

Today we set out on our Voyage to the new land. The Emperor has 'graced' Me with the Duty of leading the 1st Novarian expedition force; an under equipped, and under manned fleet of less then 25 ships. though I do not doubt the valor of my crew, I am sceptical about our chances of success, we are to estabalish a foot hold for the Imperium, secure all resources we can from the region, and bring back any new species of interest for that bastard Edward to Work on. All of this, with 25 ships, One of which, is a Merchant Vessel Belonging to a member of Ravenking Industries. I'd laugh if I weren't Incharge of this Circus act.

December 25th, 1756.

The crew fashioned a small tree for celebration this morning, and handed gifts to one another, I smiled as I saw Major Grenellin offer a gift to sergeant joyce Carter. Imperial regulations are trying to abolish such "uncivilised activities" Like Christmas, but any holiday that could Make Major Grenellin Act Human, is Far from Uncivil. I didn't have the heart to tell them to get back to work, but I'm not worried, Imperial Communication is Limited, and I doubt the crew will turn me over to the Emperor.

January 13th, 1757.

First mate Jericho, in a drunken haze, mistook the furnaces for toilets, he is now being treated for burns in the medical ward, I have issued an alcohol prohibition, not to mention the ship smells Like shit.

January 15th, 1757.

Smell is Gone.

January 22nd, 1757.

Jericho didn't recover from his burns, henry, the ship's doctor told me over breakfast. I swear that sadistic bastard was smiling beneath that beaked mask of his. We gave him a burial at sea in the afternoon, I heard someone quip 'We should have cremated the smelly bastard.' Lucky for him I didn't see who. I would have tossed them over with Jericho. I will be keeping an ear out for anyone else who speaks ill of Their Fellow Crew.

February 16th, 1757.

It's been awile since we Saw Dry Land, but the crew are in high spirits, all things considered. It's tragic what happened to Jericho. But my prohibition, wilst some call harsh, (when they think I am out of earshot.)  I think will ensure the safety of the crew.

April 7th, 1757.

me and major Grenellin of The Imperial Expedition's Infantry, and therefore, Military commander Once we Reach Land, Had a serious Talk in my quarters. He walked in, wearing full uniform, aside from his armor. I looked up from my desk and offered him a seat. He pulled up a chair and leaned over the desk. "Ah. Mr. Grenellin, you wanted to have a word with me?" I inquired from across the cluttered table. ( Note to self, Clean this
mess Up Later.)

He nodded, and licked his lips, before finally speaking. "Aye, I do Shir." He said in That Headache Inducing Corneraean accent. "Lord Dantiush, Ash commander of the Novarium'sh Expedishion Force'sh Military Operatshuns, I feel it would be a Neglect of my Duty if I did not voice my concernsh, regarding Military and Navy Interactshuns." He took another pause, leaning back in his chair. "That ish to shay, I would like to Keep You're Men and Women separate from my Sholdiers." He paused again, and I leaned forward, cupping one hand into the other as I Pondered what to say.

"And... why, Do you feel it would be A good idea to Divide 2 loyal forces of the Imperium, two forces who, I will remind you, are to spend an as-of-yet Undecided amount of time In an uncharted land where they will need trust to Stay alive?" He eyed me up and down in the Flickering candlelight. "If I may be Blunt, Lord Admiral, you're Methodsh of leadership are different from mine. I feel too much interactshun between the sholdiers and the Crew may lead to a different way of Thinking amongsh my Men, a Way of thinking that could be Dangeroush to the Mishion's Shuccesh."

"Or your own power." I said. He glared at me with his One Good eye. "Lord Admiral, I ashure you That if I cannot control my Sholdiers, there will be Shevere Repercusshions to the Misshion and you're Pershunal Well Being." I Knocked my chair over as I stood. "Is that a Threat, Mr. Grenellin?" I asked. "Nay Shir. Tis a Promishe." He said, before standing, and snapping a Salute As he left. That Bastard Knows I Need him, but I will make sure I  keep him on a tight leash. As for now, I will not limit the Crew, nor the Soldiers from doing their duty, and socialising, after all, it will be a long Voyage still.

May 1st, 1757.

I was rudely awakened last night By the screams of Sergeant Joyce Carter. I hurried out onto the deck, my Flintlock Pistol gripped in my hand, I had feared we were uner attack via pirates, but Aside from Major grenellin and a Few others, There was naught a soul to be seen. I asked Sergeant Carter what was wrong, and she pointed over the railing at the Black water below. I waited for her to say something, but she was too distressed to speak, that is until Major grenellin Pressed the matter with a little more severity. She simply stuttered "The Kraken." I wasn't entirely I heard her right, But Major Grenellin Just rubbed his brow with his hand.

"Ach! You're Joking Shargent Joyce, The Kraken Ish a Myth! A fairy tale Shum Drunken Dwarvsh Made up on one of their Journeish." I gazed over the railing, and peered into the black water, I don't know why, I knew Major Grenellin was right, but I Couldn't Shake this feeling, no. not feeling... something else. Something I can't explain, but I grew very uneasy that moment, odd, seeing as I have never had any form of seasickness. I told everyone to return to their quarters, when we heard a strange call, Like that of a Foghorn, though infinitly louder, the deck shook for... 4 seconds, not that I was counting, I leaned back over the railing (to empty my stomach.) and saw bubbles along the side of the ship, I heard the call again, and this time wasted no time.

"I've heard enough, kraken or not, there is –something- below us, sound the alarm Mr. Hunt, I Want the entire fleet Full speed ahead." Major grenellin was not looking as sure as he had minutes before, but I had no time to Comment, I ordered everyone to their stations, and in moments bells were ringing all across the fleet as I ordered 25 ships to sail faster then they were ever designed.

What felt like hours later (though I discovered to only be one and a half.) I glanced over the edge of the boat, and with Some surprise, Noticed the water was Much lighter, a Shimmering Midnight blue, Rather then abysmal Black as it had been earlier. Even now as I write this, I do not know what to make of last night. I brought Sergeant carter in to explain herself, but she was not of much use in getting an answer. Regardless, I am rather on edge, And though I hate hypocrisy, I currently Hold an aged bottle of Wine in my Hand, Cheers.

April 1st , 1758.

It's been a year since my last entry, I Passed out on the night of march 1st, 1757, I woke up in the morning with a splitting Headache, a Half full glass of Wine, and an Empty jar of Ink On my Table, My Stomach Was In Knots for The rest of the day until I visited Henry. He Chuckled, And told me That I would Need to take An order of laxatives Untill We reached shore. I dropped the pills out the Window of my Cabin and Within the hour, I was feeling Fine, That Arse-Lover Doesn't Know Anything about medicine.

But Moving on, We Have Finally Made Land Fall. I woke up this morning, to the sound of bells, and cheering. I walked out onto the deck, and Gazed out at the Green Line that stretched across the horizon, a divider between the white sky, and the Blue of the Ocean. The air was charged with electricity as our steam engines pushed the Paddles Full boar. I was eager for an opportunity to step upon dirt and stone. Wile most Seamen Prefer to spend every waking minute On the ocean, I'm slightly more sensible then that. When we finally reached shore, I was the first one Off the boat, We had found the perfect spot along the coast, a small cove covered by heavy trees. It was big enough for 4 ships, But I ordered all the ships, aside from the heart of novarium To remain off shore.

I wanted to keep our presence here a secret for aslong as possible, who knows what monstrosities dwell in these lands. It felt great to stand on land, and the Purity of The air once we eased the engines was wonderful. "I don't think I can go back to the Imperial city after this." Said mr. Meri. I would have agreed, but to be honest, I Find the thick fog of the novarian capital to be quite pleasing, perhaps it has to do with my artificial Enhancements. It's a shame how frail the Body can be... I ventured into the forest a few feet, and saw that the grassy, forested land formed a cliff edge, with a small strip of sand between the edge and the waters.

I ordered the immediate deforestation of the Trees, minus the ones closest to the cliff edge, Hours later, I was pleased that we now had enough building supplies for several docks, and the beginning of a base of operations. Aswell as an effective killzone, and disguise. The trees we had left, Hid both our ship's masts, and Major grenellin's Soldiers, whom Now had a clear line of sight to engage anything that came our way.
So far, Things are looking promising in this Land, Of course, the only wildlife we've seen are Small woodland critters. Let us hope that the legends about 'Ak-Eyon' The lost Land, are exaggerated.

April 6th, 1758.

One of Grenellin's Boys, Private shere, was bitten by a Wild dog today, henry gave him a multitude of shots, my guess is only half of them were neccisary. He seems alright though, and this is novarium medicine, afterall, we've cured the Pox,, I doubt rabies will Be much of an issue.
April 7th, 1758.

We have finished the Command Bunker. Once the boardwalks had been laid around the sandy lip of the cove, and several docks laid out, I had ordered 2 more ships to join us. 'The Emperor's Hand' and 'Unrelenting Gaint' Captains Howe and Lennil have already Intergrated their crew and soldiers into me and Major Grenellin's Forces. Currently Both admirals are asleep in their ships, and Major grenellin has taken to sleeping inside the command bunker. Personally, if he'd rather sleep in a dark hole in the side of the cliff with dirt walls and ceiling then on the same ship as me, I won't stop him. Hmm... Perhaps I'll Relocate there once they replace the walls and ceiling.

April 8th, 1758.

Mr. Sandred. The Owner of the merchant ship, and apparently one of the minor Heads of Ravenking industries, I should not be surprised that Ms. Ravenking has her own representatives in my fleet, as much as I wish I could deny it. This Civvillian Trader, has been pressuring me Into Allowing 'The jewel of Industry' access to the Cove. Again, I will Deny him, Though I doubt that will be an option for much longer, as of now, I feel it's his own need for exploration, as we have not yet encountered any local species I would deem potential customers, Though I wouldn't put it past a ravenking Businessman to try and sell to A bear... that'd be amusing

April 9th, 1758.

Took stock of the armory, We've relocated all our supplies to 'The Unrelenting Giant' As is, we Currently have a total of 40 Working Smoothbore Muskets, 23 Working Flintlock pistols, this means we have lost 10 muskets to the sea, or neglect by Grenellin's soldiers, and 27 pistols, though we have enough weapons to arm the garrison at the cove, I question the competence of my crew, and Grenellin's soldiers. Thankfully The Armory Ship. 'Supplication' Is still anchored with the rest of the fleet, when I feel it is time our presence was known, it's supplies will be more then enough to arm the fleet. I'm tired now, and I hope tomorrow is slightly more interesting then Taking stock...

April 10th, 1758.

I'm Not a superstitious man, Though I will never tempt fate Like that again. I'm tired and Writing from the dim and flaring lamp like usual, However I am usually in better company then the good doctor, Whom has been treating my wounds for the last hour or so. The day itself went by Well enough, Major grenellin had (without my order...) Filled Several Empty Storage crates we no longer needed with dirt, and positioned them In the treeline as added cover, I didn't scald him though, for we had been here for awile, without any contact, and I doubted several crates would arouse any suspicion. For the rest of the day, I appeared to be correct, however, come night fall, I was proven wrong. I had eaten well, and decided a brisk nighttime Walk along the Docks would Do me good, I left the ship and I was in a wonderful mood, the wind was Crisp, but not uncomfortable, as well as the pleasant sound of the water against the shore, it was very relaxing, and with several dozen armed soldiers patrolling the perimeter, and even more either just in the bunker, or enjoying the night like I was, I let my guard down almost entirely.

I stopped at an edge of the dock, and peered into the water, my reflection greeted me with a cold frown, for obvious reasons... And I noticed the Full moon, a perfect circle of white on the Dark blue water. I turned  and saw Private Meri Standing a few feet away, he had his head down, and was leaning on his rifle, either asleep, bored, or Dead. "Full Moon, Mr. Meri." I said to him, Curious as to which of the 3. he looked up slowly, and nodded. "Yes sir, First one since we landed." I walked over to him, and wile I meant to be friendly, he seemed to tense, I sometimes forget My visage is stuck in a permanent Frown. It can make communication with those whom are not my regular crew... difficult. "It's providing pleasant light, Mr. Meri." I said, putting a little more cheer into my words then I felt, as compensation. He nodded again, pushing his hat up with one hand and looking me in the Eye.

(the organic one.)  "I don't Like the Full moon, sir." He said. "and why is that, Mr. Meri?" I asked, genuinely Interested in his answer. "Well sir, we've all heard the tales of The Lost land... There be Monsters here." He said, I gave him a stern look, and he Stared at his feet like a scolded child. "Mr. Meri, We know the legends of old, are just that, legends. The only things we must fear are the beasts that time has not destroyed for us." I saw out of the corner of my eye Private Shere leave the bunker, He stepped into the pale light, and my lecture trailed off as I eyed him down. Private Meri Followed my gaze and we both watched in Confusion as private shere Stumbled around on the boardwalk. "Is Gerald Drunk?" Asked Private Meri. I assumed it was a Rhetorical question and didn't answer. Private Shere fell to one knee and cried in pain, Private meri and I hurried over to help, but 20 paces away I froze, Private Shere glared at me with Cold Yellow eyes, unhuman eyes.

Private Meri Didn't Notice, and I tried to grab his sleeve to stop him, as he reached private shere he Yelped in surprise, I assume that is when he noticed the eyes. Shere Lunged at him and tackled him to the ground, Meri began screaming for help, holding Shere's neck, but helpless as Shere Changed from man to beast ontop of him, His Red uniform split and Grey Fur covered his skin like a infectious Growth, The thing that had been private sheer began to claw at Private Meri's chest, And Private meri, too busy holding back Shere's Now Canine-esque Face from biting him, was helpless, In a flash, I charged at Private shere, I Delivered a Kick with all my Strength, and was rewarded with a thwack as Shere's head recoiled back and he stumbled off Meri, "Get to the ship, Sound the alarm!" I yelled at him as he scrambled out of the way, I Unsheathed my Cutlass as I Fired A shot at the Monster. The shot embedded itself in his furry chest, and it Howled in pain, before charging me with unnatural speed, I leaped to the side, and it clipped my legs, sending me spinning into the sand, I bolted to my feet Just as I heard the Alarm bell Ringing from the Heart of novarium, within Moments dozens of Imperial soldiers were storming out of the Command bunker and setting up defensive perimeters.

private sheer Lunged at me again, and I Ducked low, and barraled at it's Legs, my body surged with pain, but I managed to lift Him over me, and keep my momentum, How, I don't know. I turned on my Heel and lunged forward with my Cutlass, (an impossibly Agile move in retrospect, and I'm terrified of the state my back will be in the morning...) My Cutlass Bit deep into Shere's back, and it yelped pitifully Before slumping to the ground. I breathed heavily watching his body for any movement. Suddenly, I heard the howl of wolves, turned my head to watch the Bunker, and to my horror, saw atleast 6 robe wearing Monstrosities leap from the cliff edge and tackle a Man to the ground each.

By now the Peaceful night had descended into anarchy, Screams, howls, Musket fire, and the Alarm Ringing, all turned into an orchestra of Uncoordinated Noise, I reloaded my flintlock on the run as I headed for the troops. The surprise attack had cost 6 Imperial lives so far, And now The monsters had confused and disorganised any defence, I saw Sergeant carter run one of them through with her bayonet, before Being kicked into the water by another, Major grenellin Aimed down his sight, And blew the back of One's skull Out onto the boardwalk, before turning and skewering another with his Bayonet. What I assumed was the leader, an even larger more barbaric figure in blood red robes, disembowelled a Crew member, Before tackling a Soldier To the ground and mauling him. I finally reached the Chaos, and Jumped onto the leader's Back, driving my cutlass into it's shoulder blade, It roared, before spinning quickly, sending me Flying and crashing into the Side of the cliff.

I slumped Against the side of the cliff, dazed and confused, before I felt it grab my leg and begin to run off, I was carried through the Sand and across the hard board walks, and I dinstinctly remember losing my hat. Just as I thought they would escape with me as their trophy, The Leader Let go of me as it howled again, I tumbled down the slope and laid at the bottom of the cliff side, dazed and unable to move, The sound of battle ended instantly, And I vaguely remember Meri, Grenellin, Carter, and Hildirn Carrying me across the boardwalk before I lost conciousness. I woke up about 20 minutes ago, my first order was to Relocate anyone with Bite marks to the 'Emperor's Hand's Brig, I made it clear they were to receive full medical care, But that I wanted them under lock and key. Anyone with Scratches, Such as myself And Meri, Were relocated to all 3 ship's medical bays. The dead have been buried On the opposite end of the Cove.

April 11th, 1758.

Origonally, I had ordered a few small scouting parties when we had first arrived to search the area, they had reported nothing unusual. After last night's attack, I'm Eager to Explore First hand. However I am confined to the Bed for atleast another day. I'm writing this as My Lunch is prepared, I'm looking forward to a Day off my feet, Though I could have done without the Severe Beating at the hands of a Monster... I wonder where That Wine Got to...

April 12th, 1758.

The Medical bay is empty, Like My soul, A hallowed out room where memories of pain and death linger in the air like the smoke of the lanterns, To waddle away what precious time I have left, chained to my bed with naught by Words to ward off the ever encroaching insanity that is the bane of mankind's existence, nay, I speak not of devils, nor of the Elf or it's allies I speak of the undoer of worlds and the greatest pain which will not kill; Boredom. Nothing like boredom to free the poet inside me, though now that I look at this Work, I remember why I had locked him Inside in the first place... I think I'll Take up sketchwork, As Poetry Is –not- my strongpoint.

April 13th, 1758.

I watched my pocket watch for I don't know how long, my eyes trained on the minute hand like an owl watching a Mouse. When the hand finally told me it was april 13th, 1758, I Leapt from my bed and hurried for the door, Dr. Henry stepped in my way, and calmly offered to sit me back down and apply "Massage Leeches" to my Back. I politely declined, and Slipped past him. I'm not letting that Bastard or his little parasites Touch me, if I can help it. I tasted the fresh Ocean air the minute I left the medical bay, and hurried up the stairs to the deck, I ventured out of the dark holds and looked around me as I realised how bloody bright it was out. I Let my Eyes adjust (the metal one taking only a second.) and walked to the edge of the ship, I Gazed off at the Cove, and Smiled beneath my mask. After our incident with the... Werewolves, as they are being called, Several bunkers had been installed facing Inwards of the bay, carefully concealed with hanging vines that rendered them invisible, save for the glint of sun on the garrison's Bayonets, which stuck out of the firing slits rather obviously. The command bunker was busy like usual, Men and women Hurrying in and out carrying crates, ammunition, weapons... everything needed for a battle, I realised with a frown. "and what sort of retaliation is The Good Major Planning, I wonder." I didn't expect an answer, and made my way to the boarding ramp, walking across the docks towards the Command bunker, where sergeant Joyce, the Major, and Private Meri were all gathered, aswell as a few Of grenellin's Men who I couldn't

recognise, probally because of the gasmasks they wore. Private meri said something to the major and he looked up annoyed, though wether at me or meri, I did not know. "Major Grenellin, your Eagerness to engage in a counterattack is both commendable and encouraged, but I must ask you why I have not been informed." I said, allowing anger to drip from every Syllble. The Major shrunk ever so slightly, and Saluted. "Apoligiesh, shir. Given you're Injury foighting The Werew- Private Shere, I took the liberty of Preparing a reconi-" I cut him off with a wave of my hand, and not just to Stop him from butchering the word Reconnisaince. "a Reconnisaince mission?" I asked, emphasising on the correct pronounciation.
"Aye Shir." He said, his face taking on a slight crimson hue. "That sounds splendid, Major." I said, taking a cheerful tone that was completely at odds with the anger I had felt minutes ago (and still did, though they wouldn't know that.) it had the desired effect, everyone was slightly off-footed, and unsure of what to do, simply nodded. I chuckled. "I could use some fresh air anyway, I feel it may have a better effect on my back then Henry's Leech massages." Everyone but Major grenellin smiled, I believed atleast Meri's was sincere. "With Reshpect, shir." Began the Major. "it would be Unwiesh To Shend Both Commanding Offishirs On the shame, Lightly manned Patrol, it could leave ush leaderlesh if shumthing were to happen." I Nodded, for once agreeing with the Major. that was a sobering thought, you can be sure.

"Major grenellin, you are Exactly right." I Began, and I noted his poorly concealed Smugness. "Which is precisely Why you will be staying Here wilst I escort the Patrol." I said, savouring the Look of Surprise, then disbelief, then anger that Warred for Control of his face. "shir, that's hardly Appropiate, you are an Admiral of the fleet, what could you-" I dismissed him with a wave of my Hand. "Major, I'm Sorry, but my decision is made. And last I checked, An Admiral of the Fleet, was the equivalent of a General of the Army, and I'm certain that General Outranks Major." Truth be told, I was abusing my power somewhat, mostly to spite the Major, it was not the most intelligent course of action, but I digress. He buckled, and I ended up leading the patrol of roughly 5 Soldiers, including Private meri, and Sergeant Carter. We trekked up the sandy path to the top of the cliff, and I spared a glance at the cove, it was still as beautiful as before, with our Steamboats Poetically encroaching on the natural beauty, were I a writer, I'm sure I could think of a dozen metaphors and poems to write about it. But I was much too busy leading a patrol into unknown

wilderness, with an unknown amount of monsters capable of Mutilating my retinue. We walked through the cleared field before the major's defences, and as we finally reached the edge of the forest, I felt somewhat uneasy. I unholstered my Flintlock pistol, and Gripped my Steel Cutlass tightly, as we waded into grass that Went to our waists. The trees were Massive, Like the freakishly enhanced trees of an elven city. That would be enough to put me on my guard by itself, however, our previous encounter with the locals had me on the verge of Opening fire on the slightest movement, I kept a calm yet cautious Appearance for the soldiers, of course. Only 10 meters into the woods, we came across a small river. Fearing wet powder, I brought everyone to a halt, and picked up a small rock, tossing it into the water, The soldiers looked at me quizzically, and I told them it was not shallow enough for us to cross without fear of ruining our ammunition. Before anyone could misinterpret that as an order to head back, I Unfastened my Ammunition Belt, and wrapped it around my neck, the men Followed my example, and Carried their ammunition belts On their muskets, which were held over their heads.  I looked up and down the river, curioiusly, and was certain there was no sign of anyone, or anything ever having been along it's banks. The sun was now overhead, and I assumed it was now Noon. A strong breeze from the coast blew through the trees, and the branches swayed lazily. A faint sparkle caught my eye, a second before I was ready to continue on our way. And I waded into the waist

high water towards it. As I got closer, I realised it was a ring, a dazzling Sapphire in it's center, I scooped it out of the sediment, and held it in the running water for a minute to clean it. It was truly Remarkable. It was engraved with an intricate pattern which meant nothing to me, but I had to admit was amazingly Detailed. after another look, I slipped it into my Pocket. And turned around to see sergeant Carter on the bank, flanked by meri and the others. "Lord-Admiral, Sir? There is a Foot-hold over here." I nodded, not pressing the matter, either she hadn't seen the ring, or she had, and decided not mention it. I waded through the water until I reached The foot-hold. I was concerned I would Slip, and make a fool of myself, until Sergeant Carter grabbed my hand and helped me up. I showed my gratitude with a tip of The Hat, and we continued onward. It was only 10 or so minutes, as my pocket watch informed me, before I realised the gradual change to the forest: the grass was clumped together sporadically, leaving Patches where the ground was covered with thick piles of detritus. The Sun was still more or less directly above us, and the thick canopy of trees shaded as far as the eye could see, giving the illusion that the sunlight was swallowed by the Forest around us. I noticed the men (and Sergeant carter) gripping their muskets until their knuckles turned white. Thankfully my Black Leather gloves made it impossible to tell I was doing the same. I looked ahead, and using my augmetic eyepiece, I was able to make one set of shadows stick out a fraction more then the others, a tall, straight-

edged object lay roughly 20 meters ahead, it's perfect angles telling me it was not natural. I stopped abruptly, and private Meri Stopped a second later as he stumbled into me. sergeant joyce was about to Give him a swift backhand slap, when I pointed forward. "There is something in the distance." I said, and a sense of unease washed over the troops. "Nothing threatening, just a building." I added, and it seemed to do the trick, dispelling whatever monsters had filled the "something" in the soldier's heads. "Diamond formation" said Sergeant Carter and the Men surrounded me. joyce leading from the tip, we pressed forward. The closer we got, the more details I was able to make out: The Elaborate Arch-ways, The Vine Wrapped Statues that stood sentinel in Grooves cut in the Stone walls, The Towering structure easily pushed past the tree line, only our position on the ground had prevented us from seeing it before. The sound of our foot steps changed from The crunch of dirt, leaves and grass to The clack of cobblestone as we advanced, weeds grew inbetween each stone, and finally we paused just outside of the structure. the building was surrounded by a string of light, I looked up to see that the forest ended a meter or so before the temple, leaving a Long band of sunlight which surrounded the

building like a halo. The thought, completely against regulations to even consider, had come of it's own accord, and I was confused at it's potency. I gestured forward with my pistol, and the men (and sergeant carter) Moved in good order. Inside the Structure, the Roof was Vaulted, Braziers held by long chains hung from it in regular intervals the length of the main room, vines and dozens of plants clung and hung from the roof aswell, creating a peculiar hammock of plant life. It was noticeably colder inside then outside, though not enough for anyone to make a comment. Carter's men fanned out to cover each corner of the room, advancing in a crescent formation which expanded with the room, leaving no surprises for our way out. The floor was covered in stone benches, in neat rows, leading to the far end of the room, where a large pedastol sat, a trickle of natural sunlight surrounding it in light. "What is this place?" asked one of carter's men. "A Temple." I told him, the words coming of their own accord before I could stop them. Sergeant carter looked at me quizzically. "I've never seen a temple before, how can you be sure, sir?"

"Pews, Statues of grotesque winged beasts, look at the way the light falls on that pedestal, it's symbolic, obviously intentional. I'd bet a month's salary this is a heathen Place of worship." Sergeant carter nodded. "do you think whatever worshiped here is still around?" She asked, trying to sound indifferent. "I Don't know." I confessed, now only 3 paces from the Pedestal, I noticed now that a large Tome sat on it's surface. Carefully I circled around behind it, and climbed the two steps to the top, where I stood raised over the rows of pews. I let myself picture Myself here, with thousands of people listening to my everyword, and admitted, I saw some appeal to the prospect. I looked down at the Book, and brushed a hand across the hard cover. It was made of Leather, and a remarkably intricate pattern had been Carved into it, with a single Ruby Studded in the center. With a vague sense of de ja vu, I grabbed the ring from my pocket, and held it in the light that surrounded the pedestal. The pattern was an exact match. Only the gem differed, The ring's sparkling sapphire a stunning contrast of the book's ruby. I grabbed the edge of the cover, and began to

turn to the first page, when burning pain shot through my hand, I recoiled, and almost stumbled backwards off the pedestal, I stood there for a minute, holding my hand, and staring at the book. After a minute of panic, my common sense reassured me that the book would not attack me. and I came closer. I looked at the ring, and the book, and an idea slowly formed. "Sergeant? Bring one of your men here." I called to her. She looked up from a fallen statue, where she had apparently been chipping the face away with her bayonet. "oh, yes sir. Temeter! The admiral wishes you're attention." A stocky man in a uniform a size too small and bulging with muscles Nodded, and made his way to the pedestal in a hurried jog. I remember being surprised that the ground didn't shake as he ran.  He saluted, and I returned it quickly, not caring much for protocol at the moment. "I need you to put this ring on, and open this book." I said. He tilted his head to the side. "Sir?" he asked, obviously not wanted to disobey an order, but also not wanting to blindly follow said order. "I think this book has a sort of... Spell on it. If im reading this right, the ring will protect you if you open it." I was amazed at how quickly I came up with that explanation, and Temeter Nodded, he probally didn't know much about aceon/novarium history, and may very well have believed I understood the ancient texts. I wasn't going to tell him otherwise.

He took the ring, and forced it onto his Smallest finger, where it sat neatly adjacent to his Nail. I stepped back as he grabbed the page tightly, and In one deliberately slow movement opened the Book. To my mild surprise, the sky did not rain blood, the buzzing of locusts failed to appear, and I was still a man. Nothing happened, the page had been turned, and private temeter now stood reading the book. I stepped behind him and tried to see over his shoulder, it turned out to be futile, so instead, I stepped infront of the pedestal and tilted my head so I could read it. "The End was not as you thought, Hektor." I blinked, before reading the first sentence again. And again. And roughly 10 or so more times.

The End Of Novarium

No one knew why it happened, Valhalla said it was the breath of a mighty dragon sent by Odin,

Novarium said it was due to rising temperatures and winds, the Dwarves believed it was the coming of the Great Warden.

The dwarves had mastered the power to use fire water to their advantage But they never agreed to fight.. They did not marched with our 1000 trained Vikings ready for bloodshed.

'Sir, the Free Cities was attacked. They ran into fucking caves and survived,'

Ruben frowns

'You see Admiral, he is a savage, He attacks innocent colonies.'

The messenger interrupted him

'Pardon me my lord... but you should really here the rest of this...' After a few seconds of silence he continues 'Its fucking hot outside...'

The Lord Admiral smiles.

'No admiral, they are Vikings.

'Ruben, Let me put it this way, Tightly packed formations, No organization, and black powder. Their axes cant pierce our walls'

Ruben said.

'The man is a fucking lunatic...He actually thinks you're gonna do that.. You're not gonna do that.. Are you?'

Without a word the Admiral stood and turned to his army and he said, Like a true leader would

'We are not leaving the city, We have the advantage if we stay and fight here, We beat the savages in every area of combat..Form up on the walls..'

The cheers of Victory Bay surprised the Admiral.., he was  glad to have Ruben by his side.

The Army of Novarium now took position on the walls, Raising muskets down range.. And without any warning the horde came streaming down the hills. Yet... at least some of the horde did. Novarium started volleying musket rounds into those running down, death everywhere.

This worked. Hundreds of Vikings were slaughtered as they ran onto the volley's of fucking musket balls and cannons.  As the sound of black powder and the smell of open wounds filled the area. The Horde swarmed in at the gate and broke it down.. at a price. Most of the army was already dead from the ranged combat.

As the remaining horde storms in, They run straight into a well organized volley of Auxiliary Militia, Matched with the Colonel and his army.

The Lord Admiral burst out laughing. 'This was your plan? Attempt to take us by force? *He snickers loudly, Then coughs* Imbecile.'

'What are you laughing at?'

And the Admiral still laughing replied.

'You made a decsison to kill your men to get in. Even your best soldiers, You claim you have the superior tactics  and weapons... and you claim to be gifted by the gods' He stops, Chuckling. 'And yet the people of the world will look down on you still and laugh. You insignificant savage..'

With that the volley opened fire, Ripping through the flesh and shields, The Colonel charged in, The Lord Admiral commanded them to fix bayonets and charge. After a few minutes of intense combat, The rest of the Savages routed.  Magnus was the only one left, He takes a shot from the Lord Admiral then theres a silence.

'Magnus... do you remember the time you told me of your fight. Before Aceon. Back in the north. You told me of how you were betrayed and how you have come down to fight with honour and teach people that not all men of the north are savage... well you failed.'

And with that the Colonel slashes his arms off, Along with his legs, And leaves him in the sun to bake to death. Horrifying screams are heard.

The dead are piled into wagons and mass graved outside in a ditch.

The Emperor gives word back to the lord admiral, Everyone not Novarium Borne or in the loyalist Auxilary is killed in a self purge.
They loot everything they can and return home to fight the rebels at the homefront.

As the admiral sails away with his fleet from victory bay, he takes one final look over the horizon, Then his watch dings, He reaches into his pocket and takes it out "ahh.. Tea time" he walks down to his cabin... The Colonel stops him and says to him before he enters "Thats the end of the War in Aceon?" the Lord admiral turns "This wasn't a war, It was a Field Execution in the thousands, *He chuckles to himself, dark and humorless.*.. Novarium excels in Such matters..."

i think in all honesty, We're beating a dead horse now. Novarium had to lose for His story to make sense, Even if it's not a Likely Outcome. Besides, We have our Own version now, Written by Turkey.

Yes. because the Lord Admiral is smart enough to use every advantage he can. He wouldn't send a ranged army outside into a horde.
Although the a Norse soldier would rip apart 5 musket men alone, The musketeers could destroy twice their numbers in minutes. And since Valhalla had no siege weapons, They pretty much just ran into walls and died.
Talk about a way to go.

I guess this is more accurate but you fail to grasp the inefficency of Muskets... they almost never kill instantly they just leave wounds to get infected and slowly kill the victim.

In this ending, Aceon Still Get's destroyed, When it says the emperor Gives word back to the lord admiral, it's implying that the Colonisation efforts have failed, and the expedition is to kill everyone In aceon, Including the residents of Victory bay, and kargate, everyone who isnt Novarium borne, or a member of the loyalist auxillairy, The Soldiers, crew, merchants, and loyalist auxillairy then Gather everything of value, including raw resources, and return to novarium, to fight the rebels On the main land. Basic novarium Mentality - "If we can't have it, Noone Can."

Actually, Back then, Muskets where the deadliest thing. You strike a blow to the head and they're dead. The arms they're wounded, The chest they're dead. The legs they're immobilized. Although you do prove a very good point, I edited the story because the Lord Admiral is a lot more intelligent then portrayed, And you going all last samurai at the walls proved epic, But still. The gun powder is much more advanced.

Your knights used ranged weapons, When they broke the gate in they attacked you. Once word was received to pull back from aceon, They were probably shot and/or attacked

It would make sense you survived though

yeah, in reality, the only advantage muskets + cannons have vs vikings is distance, axe vs musket, axe can kill twenty unloaded muskets, musket can kill a man every half a minute depending on the size of the inbound croud :D. Cannon = mass kill, really a giant musket when a horde of vikings get 10 meters between soldiers, actually, muskets have problems hitting any things unless you fire into a crowd.

artillery useless against individuals, massivly successfull when fireing into a crowd.

Musket takes out an individual, however only sniper-like muskets have any accuracy, they often take a minute to reload. The average ones often require a firing squad firing into a crowd.

However, armor is easily punctured by a musket ball, and no matter how much armor you wear, if your hit by a musket ball, or cannon ball, you are screwed.

Crossbows are actually far more reliable, properly made often reload faster than a musket, without advancements in the gun barrels inside muskets and cannons, are also far more accurate.

If you wanted to snipe something, you would want to use a bow, if not, use a very small crossbow.

Unfortunatly, the only way vikings could beat a wall, would be in the dead of night, snipe the gaurds, scale the walls, and assault the armory.

"The calm amongst the storm." That's a saying I haven't heard in a long while, ye'?

I think it all starts with the first harvest festival I was ever at. It was a day I remember vividly. A great day of firsts and likely the true reason I now live here, in the city. Maybe it was something else. The whorehouses, possibly, or even the taverns, but that ruins the romanticism of the story, doesn't it?

It took me a while to realize a whole year had passed. One could hardly believe the earthen scent of autumn was in the air until they inhaled that musken aroma of ripe fruits and rotted leaves. Once again, as every year, my father carted off to the grandest city for a thousand thousand furlongs. Now only twice had I come with him, to the Forever City, but I would come to be a man in only three years time and it was my place to learn. I remember that my two sisters had stayed ahouse as they were bade. This might've been the first time I realised that everyone has thier place. As I was meant to run my father's farm, they too were meant to become wives for some fisher or maybe someone like the merchant back in our village that everyone called Fat Dave.

I remember the clicking of the wheels on the flagstones beneath us as we approached the great, creaking wooden doors and the heavy iron porticullus that rattled in the swooning wind. The same thick pennants of black, white and red fluttered in the breeze, the Imperial Colours strewn about with the autumn droppings as the whistling gale guided a bushel pf crisp leaves to lie where the Gods deigned them needed.

The Royal Avenue was littered with people that day. From fishwives waggling the days catch in thier meaty grip to finely dressed foreigners, gowned in expensive, richly dyed silks and pleated with jewels; All manners of person haunted the main street on this day and the day's journey to the grain stores was painfully slow. Our family's one horse cantered where it could but slow clops made the pace to where my father's childhood freind took his abode. Quentin d'Mercator was a family freind who had grown up in our little town. Quentin had left our village when both he and father grew to thier 23rd year. He just left, too. No one had even knew he was gone until the next evening.

He always promised father a fat purse of coins if we brought him a cart load of barley for the alehouses and distileries. The money he gave us was always enough to feed us for the winter and father would wheel the cart into the market to stock up on food for the cold. Not until this year, though, had we ever come on the day of the Harvest Festival.

The market plaza was alight with hanging, round lamps from the glittering isles beyond the sea and green flames sprouting from the brass lamps the dark skinned foreigners lit on thier stalls. The sun hung low and orange in the sky and darkened as day sunk into night and the city lights lit themselves up. Hundreds still swarmed the market square. Foreign whores with silky, transparent dresses sulked around every corner and it seemed like no man was without a golden cup of something sweet and strong in his hands. Here, the scents of autumn were swept away by the lingering aroma of expensive wines and the strong, fragrent oils the Forever City was famous for.

Father smiled to me as he looked around the plaza and finally, he pressed a silver Denar into my palm. I still have my doubts as to what he expected me to buy, but in practically no time I found myself sipping a honey-sweet nectar with my arm around a dark skinned woman clothed in the same thin silks and ripe with the scents of sweat and lust.

The first time I got drunk. The first time I had sex. The first time I ever gambled.

The first thing I had done with the silver coin was buy my cup of the wine. The dark-skinned man smiled at me and told me something in his foreign tongue. He handed me a fine pewter goblet full of what he assured me "was his favourite vintage" and "the best in the city". It was a deep, shiny gold in colour and with a sweet scent that reminded me of pumpkins and sugar lace. To this day, I've asked all around the city but no one can tell me what I drank that night. No doubt some foreign brewing that was lost...

Second, after the drink, I took to a gambling table where men threw dice into a bowl and roared loud with amusement whenever someone lost. It took me two hours, but when I walked away I had doubled my father's money. Others did much better (and worse) than I had, but poor as we were then, I felt ontop of the world with my two silver denars. From there I fell into my more childish desires. I bought myself sweets, A new hat, A pair of sandals for my sister and a decanter full of what I thought was "100% pure wish-granting potion". It took me down to my last copper piece when the dark skinned woman took advantage of my drunken state. Someone- A god or a person or a sprite playing tricks had to have kept refilling my goblet. There was no other explaination for why my cup was always full, no matter how much I drank. The same silk-garbed woman was not a maiden, there was no doubt of that, but when I left the Tavern room an hour later, exhausted, I was made a man. I climbed into what I assumed (and luckily it was) my father's cart and passed out ontop of the empty sacks we had used to cart in the grain.

When I had awoken, we were home. It was that simple.

So no, I guess it weren't that year what made me stay. It was something else.

We came back, again, the following year. No Autumnal Festival this time, but something grander that... drew my eye, I suppose. We wheeled into the market square, again, just as the last year to get our supplies for winter. All proceded and I got to smirk as a few of the younger, pretty girls of the city flirted with me. It took me but a few moments to realise what was distracting me as I exchanged smiles with the local maids. Around the center of the square, near the fountain, sat the most.. well.. I don't know how to describe him. He was as if the most perfect example of a Human I had ever seen. His features were fair; his hair was dark like the wood of a chestnut but his skin sat as unusual and was as white as milk against the gold of armor that defined his features. A red silk sash draped over his shoulders and the ruby-encrusted circlet identified him for what he was. He sat, alone, fearless, ontop of the fountain's ledge and seemingly ignored by the bustle of the market. This man- this god among men sat in the turmoil of the busy market square deliberately etching onto a pristine volume of bound vellum. In the heart of the city sat the young Prince Maximillian, wearing the gold-leafed steel that was gift from the same foreigners that organized the Autumn Festival each year. It was my naive thought that his city bred the greatest men the land had to offer.

I still don't know why, but just seeing this man, calm amongst them all the foul and the greedy and the needful made me want to be that. To become the confident man of the city just as the young Prince had. 'course, he's Emperor, now, but still. He may've changed in the years, his hair greyed, his armor dulled, but that immortal image of his youth still lingers in my mind. The perfect man. He was once perfect, as we all must be. It is what we should all hope to become. Where we should hope our heads rule our hearts but still our heart lives free of the world's pain. We should all hope to become the calm amongst the storm.

An excellent read, rago, I really enjoyed it. your writing is very descriptive, but it doesn't get bogged down, a very tricky balance, that i think you pulled off very well.

Diary Entry
Levee Trav Ironbow
Date: Still Unkown.
So, I found this book. Might as well keep a record of my thoughts. Maybe if something goes wrong, at least my skeleton will have an interesting tale. So, the beginning. I am an elf. Or, a half elf. I've seen elves here, they are more nimble than I, so I obviously am part human. I have no recollection of any part of my life. Only an image, that of a beautiful maiden. Blond Hair, braided, in a dress, with the most remarkable brown eyes you'd ever see, and a smile, the one that means she's laughing, lips slightly parted. That's all I know.
I awoke on the beach, amidst of circle of stones, some stone, some metal, and one lava, if memory serves correctly. Or maybe there was a pool of lava, I don't rightly know. All I knew was that this wasn't home. At first, I wondered if I had gotten too crazy at some get together, wound up where ever my body fell. But that couldn't be the case, as I soon found out. I found a trail, made of stone, in the woods. I followed it to the Nomas. Interesting people, they are, but that's for another entry. Then, I followed the trail some more, found some people at a tavern. They were nice, gave me a lay of the land, one even threw me some dagger he got somewhere or other, said I'd need it. He was right. The creatures of this land... Not right, not even in the slightest.
I even managed to nab a few nights rest there, when no one was looking. Well, then as I left to find some answers, I saw a flier for the Ermorian Imperial Army. I figured, 'Hey, I can swing a blade just as well as the next guy, why not?'. As it turns out, diary, I can swing a blade alot better than many of the people here. I was admitted, and became a citizen with that. I gained a name, from whatever I could piece together. I was a TRAVeler, so that worked, and Ironbow sounded intimidating. So many things have happened, nearly a year has passed... I doubt I'll ever find the answers I seek. But, what I wonder is, do I want to know? Might the past be too terrible to bare? The tattoos on my face, they look... evil, almost. Maybe it's the sharp points. And that I have it, and my skill with any blade, signifies something, I don't know, dark maybe. But, this Maiden I mentioned earlier. I know she's important, somehow. Whether she was my betrothed, my bride, or... I hesitate to say this, because I believe inner beauty shows through, and inner ugliness the same, but maybe she's the reason I have no memory, maybe she's why I'm stuck in a land I have no prior knowledge of. It's late, my candle needs to be saved for more important things, so,Good Night, diary.
You know, I should come up with a name for you. Tenchi. I don't know how, but I know that means something good.
Milit
Trav.
   Entry Two.
*Small doodles decorate the page, mostly those of the kind to get ink flowing from the pen.*
   Metallicus Trav Ironbow
   Date, still to be determined
So, Tenchi, I bet you're wondering why my name is different? Well, I left the army. Not long ago, maybe a month or two. I know, that seems like something to put in the diary the day of, well, I immediately switched to the job of miner. Seemed better, I like the underground more. The thrill of finding important minerals, nothing gets me going like that.  I left to find diamond, iron, whatever the world could offer. And it seems to offer lots. But damn, the creatures in the world are only getting worse.
Earlier, I saw the most peculiar thing. This tall, but almost paper thin beast, black as the devils heart. I looked at it, almost the last mistake I would ever make. I looked at it, and it abruptly turns and looks at me, stares at me. I chuckle and turn back to work. Next thing I know, I'm being lifted off the ground, strangled by this monster. What a horrid thing, pure white eyes, all black, ribs practically sticking out of it's skin. And no mouth or nose, that's what got me. In the moments before it could kill me, I swung my pick, and got lucky. Bless the gods, whoever they are. My pick struck true, planting itself in its head. It dropped a pearl. A purple-ish one. I wonder what it's worth...
Well, anyway, There are so many things to say, but I've only so much paper to put it on. So, I'll get to the chase. I've been having some off dreams. They involve the maiden I refered to before. She's asking for help. She's in some dark cellar, maybe a dungeon. I don't put much credance to dreams, but still, the one tie I have to my past is now in my dreams, asking for help... Tenchi, I know you won't like it, but I have to save her.
Okay, I need to get a list going, so, what will I need?
Okay, I've got one out, vaguely.
*A list is stuck between the pages, it reads*
Two diamond swords, maybe a dagger as well.
   Several Diamond Picks.
Armor, diamond, enchanted against all manner of evil, full body.
A shield, strong as dragon scale, hopefully.
A months worth of food. Maybe two(?)
Hopefully a crew of people to help me. I will need a smith, to make me spare weapons on the fly, a lumber jack for wood, to be used for fires, basic camps, extra materials for the smith. A hunter for the meat.
   *List ends*
I wonder, Tenchi, is that enough? Do you think? Well, it will take time to gather the supplies, but I may leave regardless of whether or not I have them. Damn, candles nearly out. I need to invest in some glowstone. I need to talk to Quin, maybe. Get some help. Hell, he seems to be the one who would help me with the past anyway.
P.S. Tenchi, I've been having Ideas about some weapons. Nothing like extra long swords or the like, but something involving long range. I was thinking something that would use the explosive powder of those green monsters. I have a picture.
*At the very bottom of the page is a detailed drawing of a basic trap door loading rifle. (think the Springfield rifle from the U.S. Civil War, it used cartridges)*
I don't know though, it might just blow up in my face... It would fire a small metal projectile, at high speed. Theoretically, I could hit a zombie or a skelly at more than a hundred paces, flush in the face, and with ease as well.
*The next bit is messy, with splotches on the paper*
Damn, Candle's gone. I am getting a glowstone in the morning. Oh well. Good dreams, Tenchi.
        Trav.

Sandred was always a lonely fellow. His life was ruled by his job. After years of betrayal, sacrafice and hard work he still hadn't settled down. Novarium had crammed him full of machinery, they wanted the perfect spy capable of not wearing out. His organs now metal and the real ones turned to dust. He never asked for it, but it was what the expedition needed and so he was volounteered for the job.

His eye was always the centre of attention. Always curious people asking about it and complimenting him on it's design. Nobody thought to compliment him on his human features. His hair. His eyes. His skin. No. It would always be the eye. Even his closest friends, that of Novarium all retreated, leaving him forgotten in the dust. Everyone he knew, left without even a simple goodbye. Nobody like him so he could feel something you take for granted; Normal.

He tried working in the city of Ermor but whenever he tried to organise things to help the majority of shops, someone would always intervene. Blades to his throat, death threats and hired mercenaries. He even arranged for his son to work on the senate with much pain staking work. His son would never thank him, his son would arrive in Ermor the day he would die. Sandred had arranged it this way. The day his metal heart would stop pumping artificial blood through his veins was the day his son would come to visit him. Sandred hoped his son would be pleased, his dream of living a life of wonder would be given to his son and made available.

Sandred lay on his bed. Without proper maintenance, his metal heart had grown useless and tattered. As the sullen beat of his heart grew fainter and fainter, he thought one final thought. The sad truth of things;

We live alone... We die alone.

Sandred was around since the start of Novarium, which was quite awhile ago in minecraft terms. In my opinion he deserves a funeral so I am going to give it to him even if no-one else turns up. I'm thinking burial at sea or scattering his ashes over Ermor so he'll always be watching you guys even in the afterlife :3

Upon hearing of the death of His Favorite spy, the Lord Admiral, now advanced many years and sustained much the same way that Sandred was, Took off his hat and Had a moment of Silence.
Truely Novarium would feel the absence of the Merchant turned Super-spy.

(Not trying to draw attention away from you're own writing, I Liked it, it was rather sad, and it's a shame that Sandred never really got close to any of the Novarium personal, besides macbeth.)

The Cerun line is a respected and long existent line, first "established" at the end of the Ermori, and beginning of Ermor.
The line has been long, and has, surprisingly never had a female daughter born. All a line of men. The Family crest is an Eagle behind two crossed swords.

1st - Max Cerun, Freelancer. He did what he could to survive, and that was hard. He lived in the small tribe of Ermori, in a snowy area.

2st - Marcus Cerun, Farmer. When Ermor was first founded, he was a farmer, living under the undeveloped government, as were all families except the Royal Family.
He was always good with a sword, and a chisel. He was a fairly good artist, and his angles were perfect.

3rd - Augustine Cerun, Farmer/Mason. While his father ran a small farm when he was alive, the city was growing. He built a fairly large home. Unlike anyone alive, rather anyone aware to him, he had an interest in the way things worked. He was a farmer, still living under the government. He farmed good, and sold most of his reeds. His father tought him and inspired his way of art. He was hired as a mason, and built a different home, with a "lab". He came across some money, and paid the fine to become a "Freeman".

4th - Gerio Cerun, unknown. Not much is known about him, he was brother to Marcus Cerun II. He moved away, young, and no one knows where he went. It's said he discovered something magical, and gave the Cerun family power.

5th - Marcus Cerun II, Bounty Hunter. During the slow decline of the small factions in Aceon, he traveled the land in searching for someone to get. He was arguably cursed with "Bloodlust", a particularly incurable curse, that requires the victim to drink blood. He found few bounties, but many friends. During his time, Ermor, blossoming into it's new age, was quiet. Still, and he wasn't needed, so he was barely there. He had a son with a Mary, but she skipped town, and sailed with a man name Hugo. Their corpses were found burned and mauled, somewhere in a sewer miles away.

6th - Marcus Cerun III, Praefectus. While neglected by his father, he was taught to fend for himself. He was a kind soul, and often helped people in need. He joined the military young, and quickly advanced in rank. He was fearless, but worried he would disappoint. He met many of his father's friends. Many told him stories he didn't dare think up. It seemed to him his father lived a second life. He dislikes magic, but unfortunately to him, he has some power in him. It's saved his career before, and somewhat likes his power. He had intercourse with a maid named Sarah, but it was discovered she had not become pregnant.

7th - Theo Cerun. Sarah's son, and Marcus's son. He doesn't know of his family, where he came from, or any of his heritage. His mother lead him to believe her new husband Dern Dloth, a feudal knight, was his father. While he keeps the Cerun name, he believes it was his mother's maiden name. He, and his mother lives in a remote location, in a mansion. His father was one of the more, successful knights.

He escaped from his stepfather's Island, and saw many things that interested him on the way to Aceon.
He know serves as a "Scout", looking for interesting items, and exploring the World.

Ha. I forgot I got everyone to call him Robert when his real name was Sandred. Infact most of Sandreds relationships with people were built on lies so you would accept him and not be like "OMFG NOVARIUM, BURN HIM AT THE STAKE". But his son is gonna be like marmite, you'll either love him or you hate him.

Alright folks, construction of the event is complete.
The event will be held Oct 9th at 5 pm EST
If the event does not have enough attendance due to this hastily set date
I will hold the event at the same time the following day.

Long ago, during the rise of Ermor, a young blacksmith and builder lived within her walls. His name was Heliziam.
Heliziam, lived a simple life building and smithing only to survive. However, he was was like any other at both the crafts. His buildings, seemed to glow with beauty, and his armor never seemed to crack or wear. It was not long until the Emperor took notice of his work. He commissioned him to make a tomb like no other and a brilliant set of armor. Heliziam did as the Emperor commanded him, He created a monument and tomb filled with traps and puzzles, to ensure the emperor would rest enternally undisturbed. The armor he slaved to create, shined a brilliant gold and weighed next to nothing. The Emperor was pleased, although he grew paranoid of Heliziam's knowledge, and in an effort to ensure no other would ever have armor or a tomb to match, he had Heliziam executed. Mere days after the emperor had him executed, dawned in his golden armor, the Emperor suddenly died. He was entombed still wearing his armor. As the ages passed, the memory of the once great Emperor, and Heliziam faded into time.....

Until now.

And Fuck you Feer. This quest involves, puzzles, traps and a treasure.

It was cold. It was bone-cold in this, the oldest city of man. Such was the winter and indeed the specter of autumn, here, neutering the lifeblood of Ermor and exercising any memory of the endless, encouraging heat of the summer. Women and children hustled through the banked streets, looking more alike bears than humans. Lone sellers brave enough to sell what they were unfortunate enough not to sell during the harvest cried with hoarse, desperate voices. Every window of every Inn was aglow that night; nearly 10 hours later all was dark within the city and the winter-pale moon was bowing out of her bleakening sky.

He was the only soul they troubled that night, and would not see sleep.

The winds atop The Grand Bastion howled like no other night, filling the Emperor's ears. Only one man accompanied him that night had been a family guardsman known as "Cerun". They stood atop the city's main gate and both men could see for miles; out into the hinterlands of Old Kondak, beyond the mountains of long-dead Valhalla and into the trees of the beast-man tribes that had be put to the torch. Maximilian had woken at the caw of some rogue crow, complaining into the night, and now he knew why. He called the guardsman to his side and asked him, pointing out into the dark, to confirm what he saw.

Out in the twilit snow, a septet of beings cloaked in the red-gold of some cloth embroidered to look as fire. These men slowly walked through the snow- except...they didn't. Where the fiery-robed men walked, the flakes of winter fled. Snow, ice and water disappeared from where they tread and as they approached, the Imperial Highway was swept clean of snow.

Only one held a torch, the obvious leader of them all, crowned in gold and red crystal, and none glowed with the heat of fire.
The Guardsman shouted alarums at once, rousing the Urban Regiment to come to arms. Soon the Emperor and his loyal men stood within the mouth of The Grand Bastion and the watchmen hauled the mighty steel gate into its place above the causeway.
The first of the group had a long, gray beard that stretched past the hood that masked his face and the torch he held flickered with a queer, blue flame. The armed men regarded the strangers with their lances but yielded the bridge when the Emperor held up a hand.
The crowd of men separated and soon villagers were creeping up the steps and leered at the newcomers.
The leader was the first to pull back his cowl, showing the world their horrible faces. Above the long, gray beard of the Elder was the long, scaly face of some deranged serpent. With elongated heads and lacking ears of any sort, the others revealed their visage as well. Where they might have a nose were the slits of a serpent and when they breathed, a forked tongue flitted out of their mouths with a gentle hiss. Deep within sunken sockets, their eyes were beady and black and were hollow like their words.
Only their leader spoke and lisped as he gave the Emperor his evil, serpentine smile.
"Greetingsssss, Emperor.. We have travelled many milesss to meet your exsssscellence."
Maximilian regarded them with an icy glare and adjusted the frock of his winter coat.
"I will not deny you entrance, beastling, but be warned, I will not tolerate your... teachings."
The snake-men smiled, seemingly all at once, baring their jagged teeth and forked tongues.
"We only teach thossssth who wish to learn. I make that promissssse to you, your greatnessss."
The Emperor scowled at the mocking blow but resisted the present temptation to cast them out.
"Ssso, we passssss? We are much weary from your sssssssnow."
"Just as soon as you tell my me and men just who you are, serpent."
Again jagged smiles flashed with flitting tongues and hissing laughter.
"We are jusssst as you predicted, Emperor Maxsssimilian, we are the Ssssauromansssserss of C'tis, come from the Ssssshadowlandssss to sseek refuge from the barbarian tribesssss. Even there, in our fires, you are well known."
The men shifted on their feet uneasily as the Lizards passed into the city. The leader smiled again as he passed and turned, back to the Emperor, shouting loud enough to wake the city.
"I am the Hierodule known as Sskesisss, Emperor, and let your Gods know that C'tis has come to Ermor!"

The Emperor of Ermor feared no mortal man. That was just his way of life; His faith in the Old Gods was if they wished him to die, guards would do him no good. That was how his Grandfather, Emperor Pius Tillius, lived his life, and so that was how he deigned to live his.  It was yet another cold night, and the stars twinkled above the blankets of cumulus that obscured the moon's light. Gentle flakes of snow flurried down on Ermor, the god of frost resting his fleece on her shoulders.
The Emperor sat now, at an oaken table in the Ermorian Library, scratching notes on propulsion and air currents as he played with the candle at his desk and the dove's feather in his hand.
Outside, an unfamliar serpentine form slithered through the night's eaves. The robed form of the Hierodule Sskesisss slunk through the winter's night, clearing the walkway of the driven snow and garbed in a black cloak of thier cursed flames.
Emperor Maximillian took hold of the Numisian cross signet that he wore around his neck, wrought of gold and iron in the shape of a double cross, a falcon's form making up the bottom half. The librarian had retired for the evening and the Emperor was alone inside the book-lined hallways. Flakes of snow cluttered onto the glass ceiling as the Emperor looked up at the twilight. He inhaled deeply... and smelled smoke.
Outside, tongues of flame licked up from the foundation of the Library and a robed lizard skittered away just as a mob of rebels charge forward, bearing torches... then instead turn and run, the fires blazing with some inhuman fury.

See guys perhaps if you all hadn't just stood there and helped me douse the flames he wouldn't have died. This also makes me realise that we need some form of firefighter job.

[THIS IS A PLACE HOLDER, IT WILL BE REPLACED SOON]

Excerpt from Marcus Cerun III's Journal~

And so she came... 'Alice'. She's a tyrant, took the city by force. Murdered the Emperor, and for what? Greed. Her "army" treats everyone horribly. They retreat to the "Thorn" every so cowardly. They could have least shown some actual fighting power, against our army. I guess it was a sad event waiting to happen. Ermor was a shining beacon of hope and light to the whole world, not just Aceon. I guess we can't have peace, even after so much pain. It is night when I am writing this... at the Barracks in an old abandoned fort. I built it... well, planned it... I was young. It was like yesterday. I was recently promoted to Legatus Dubuos... that is good, I guess. Makes me more of a threat, to the enemy, though. It is cold, frosty even. These halls are silent, well kept and cold as stone.. well they are stone... this was built into a mountain. Back to this Alice... She... she has to go.

Excerpt a few days later

Agh! Why! We got them... but then she.. she... she was a monster...! She freed them, but some citizens actually... like her! It's crazy.. I'm mortally wounded... god it's hot.. so hot...I will meet her in battle.. tomorrow... at the Top of Ermor... we will fight, to end it...

As soon as the rebels took over, the scourge-barons of C'tis fell ontop them. After assassinating the Emperor they were only a step away from taking over.

What happened was there was a giant battle with all the rebels and the C'tis and in the end, the rebels won.

C'tis used magic, thus craters.

Most of C'tis' magic was Death and Nature Magic.

This was something I planned for a while, but I didn't think it'd happen this way.

Whatever, right?

Shruuug.

Anyway, you're all free to go back to the methodology of Old Aceon where everyone can be a soldier who mines and blacksmiths and does alchemy and is a mage, etc etc.

If anyone wants to join my new faction, Pravh, you're welcome to seek me out later today but from the point joining my faction is not compulsory, as Ermor pretty much was.

Quin has gone off to be a Hermit. He's still an admin but he wont be a job nazi anymore.

People didn't want the roleplay system I tried to put into place, so I am not going to bother trying anymore.  Ermor is gone because you asked for it.  Now it will be just like how the old Aceon maps operated.  Have fun.

I have to say that this server is gonna fail so badly....

This is how it's going to happen:

1. people are going to create multiple factions with very few people in them (and/or)

People are just going to mine and not Rp.

2. there will be many wars between these factions. (and/or)

People are going to be hermits in there mines and not Rp.

3. People are going to get bored of the faction and there will be like only one surviving faction (like DEAP) (and/or)

People are going to get bored of not Rping....

(Since I was told we need to make new characters, i thought i write a little snippit of IC goodness for Epeataro.

After being away from his loved one, Linwe, Epeataro became very quiet and kept to himself. A month went by before he started talking to people. He started giving away his belongings, including his bow, which was very precious to him. After another week,  nobody heard anything of him again. It was when his neighbor, Mordechai came to his house to borrow some milk. Mordechai found a letter pinned to the door of Eppeataro's house, labeled "For Linwe". Without thinking he quickly opened it and read it to himself.

This is what it said.

"My Linwe, if you are reading this, then please forgive me.... It's been months since I have seen you, and now I feel that I have no purpose on this world. Please do not mourn me> For instead of waiting for you, my love, I have done a selfish act of taking my life to be rid of the loneliness I am feeling. I hope that in time, you may be able to forget me.  And now, I must ask for forgiveness from the gods, and you.... Goodbye Linwe. I shall see you, wherever we may be after life.......
