Medieval Zombie Survival

Introduction

This gamemode is a medieval themed zombie defence gamemode where players choose a class, starter equipment and fight against waves of mutants\zombies. Some Monsters (The Zombies\Mutants) have special abilities and there are boss waves. Stats\Traits\Items are lost after every game is over. It's progressional but only lasts for that game. Player stats will be recoded onto a database and made accessible on our website.

Character Progression

Characters can buy items (Such as swords, armor and potions) to increase and help their success throughout the game. Players levelup over time and gain more additional stat points to add to their stats (Strength, Agility and Intelligence) and also unlock traits and abilities to allow them to better fend off the attackers.

Waves and Gameplay

Players have periodic times in which they should be doing certain things. The first timezone is the join time which allows all players with slower computers to get into the game and allows players to discuss tactics and prepare for what's ahead such as choosing the right class.

Then there's the inbetween waves timezone which allows players to prepare for the next wave by going to the npc shops and buying something and repairing and developing defences.

After this whats left is the actual waves themselves, where the attackers attack the players, each wave has a set amount of monsters that will appear. Most likely we will set a handicap which changes how many monsters there are per round based on how many players that are ingame to keep things balanced. Some monsters have special abilities and different armor types which means certain weapons or magic might do more or less damage onto something. For example a zombie wearing leather armor may be vulnerable to fire magic or flaming arrows whereas a zombie which is wearing steel armor may be weaker against ice magic which makes the armor more brittle and easier to break, making the monster easier to kill.

Classes

To provide that "Party" like feel each player plays a key part in the games progression as certain classes are needed to help each other. The current classes which we are planning to do are: Archer, Footman, Magici.

As players progress in the game and level up their ranks change, at a certain level they get to choose what branch they want to go to. This effects overall what they can do.

The Archer
--Crossbowman
---Huntsman
--Longbowman
---Ranger
The Footman
--Man-At-Arms
---Swordsman
--Squire
---Knight
The Magici - More complicated to consider right now.
