Rui is a short little hin hailing from Katla, far to the north. This should be enough of a warning. In case you don't know what Katla is (though you likely do), it is a crime-ridden and industrialized society built primarily by humans, for humans. Thieves' cant and extremely bad accents are the norm, where well-spoken individuals are generally the various nobility seeking to profit off the chaos of the city.

Rui is not a noble.

She grew up orphaned on the streets, as a 'face' for the various gangs, a dealer and mediator between people looking to trade drugs, weapons, or fence goods. It didn't last. As she grew older, not necessarily wiser, her specialty shifted more towards the vicious- daggers in the dark, explosives under chairs, all the little trade tools that made life a little safer for the learner- not necessarily the victim. In fact, more and more she began to thrillseek- eventually falling in with a group of adventurers, and turning her trade more towards lockpicks and finely-tuned senses as an excuse to tag along in old tombs, forgotten lands, and abandoned castles. It was much better than the city- and she earned something of a reputation for being good at her craft (and still alive, which is more than can be said for most Trapseekers).

Unfortunately, that reputation didn't serve her half as well when she was discovered locked in the vaults of Katla Palace.

So who is she today?

Having broken herself out of jail and made her way across untold miles with nothing but a dagger and the clothes on her back, it can be safe to say the little thief is looking for a new life- perhaps one where she isn't referred to on the street as 'That's her! Get her!'.

A place where stars seemingly fall out of the sky every night seems far enough from Katla that she could do just that. Mind you, she's sick and tired of stories about talking rabbits already. Between that and random attacks by sanguimancers (on her first day there, no less!), this might not have been her best decision.

One bad decision in a long line of many, though. It hardly counts.

Current Weaponry:

Rui is never without a wide and varied assortment of methods to escape, endure and entangle her foes, and that's assuming she can't eradicate them (Let's be honest, she's much better at dodging than hitting anything). Be prepared to not fight honorably if you step against the halfling- she isn't the type to meet you head-on except in a friendly bout.

-Careless Death: An enchanted dagger stolen from the leader of the 'Vishus Barstuds' gang, the little bladed weapon is utterly weightless and heinously sharp (to the point of where even lightly touching the edge can cut you, albeit not deeply)- allowing for incredibly fast strikes. (Slashing)

-Gnomish Home Defender: Purchased upon her arrival to this new world, this pistol is (unfortunately) the best she could find for purchase with her meager amount of pickpocketed cash. (Piercing)

-Shoddy Grenades: She has a pocketful of them. Best not to ask her to demonstrate. Some are sticky with a gel covering. (Bludgeoning)

-A Pocketful of Potions: Ironskin, Healing, Regeneration, Swiftness, the basics.

-Weapon Poison: Home-grown and made to make you nauseous.

-Caltrops: Spikes made to litter the ground and impede foot travel, usually thrown by the bagful. (Piercing)

-Tranq darts: Fired from her dartgun, they make you go sleepy-time for a while. ...Well, it might take a moment to start working. (Only applies relevant Status after 1d4 rounds, no damage)

-Pocket Sand: Exactly what it says on the tin- well no, not really. Rather than just being bits of desert, this is a bag full of extremely tiny glass shards and cactus needles. Not good to get in the face.

-Smoke Bombs: For hasty getaways. Always a good idea.

Skills:

Improved Critical (Can Crit on a 40 difference, Dagger Only)
Dodge (+10 to melee defense)
Trap Sense (+20 to Rolls vs. Traps)
Sleight of Hand (+10 to pickpocketing, lockpicking or trap disarming)
Flee (No roll required to escape most scenarios, assuming escape is possible)

FLAT Passive bonuses:
+10 both to Ranged and Melee Dodge (5R from Race, 5R and 10M from Dodge)
+10 to Thiefy Skills
+20 to Spot Traps

"It weren't me, Oi din't do it, 'onest!"
"We know. Jimmy did it, not you. We watched him."
"Roight, 'cause Oi din't do it."

Also, it looks as if my old forum profile is still perfectly usable. ...But if it's all the same to everyone, I'll use the new one. I toyed with just keeping it under the radar as I'm much less high-strung now, but people were going to find out eventually.

Guns aren't typically considered a Rogue weapon, but there's an easy way around that- since it's barely been any time, we can potentially retcon your class to Outlaw (Rogue/Gunner) so nothing is lost. If you do decide this, though, it'll have be relatively soon. Thanks.
