Title: Using RP-inspired scenes for college work
Post by: Spades_Neil on 09-04-2011
Who says video games are a waste of time? :D

Anyway, I'm in Screenwriting for college. One of my assignments was to develop a character and use them in a scene. So, I got some inspiration from the Fallout roleplay I've been doing. I thought I'd share this one.

So here's what you guys need to know. Yesterday after the Brotherhood robbed (and actually killed me) on the wasteland (which we are not going to discuss here because that's not the point of this post), I was forced to return to Kira's Karbines totally unarmed which was quite unusual.

There I met some random girl, I think her name was Fiona or something? Idk, something with an F. All I know is this girl just suddenly tried to assassinate me--which turned into a very interesting dice rolling RP/fight scene.

The only things I tweaked for my screenplay version of it was, 1st off, it was bandits who robbed Kira. Not the Brotherhood like it actually happened in-game. 2nd off, she survived. When Jameson killed Kira yesterday I was on the pier at the lake, considering jumping in to escape. (I stalled too long and died. :P) But in my screenplay, I say she jumped in and got away after laying her weapons down trying to (and failing to) diffuse the situation. 3rd I also changed some dialog and characters involved only because I forget peoples' names and what exactly they said. :P

Anyway, back to Kira's Karbines fight scene now. If you want an idea of how the fight actually went, download the PDF attachment and enjoy.

I'm still a noob at writing scripts, so if any of you happen to know how to do better, I love constructive critique. :3

Good stuff, but aren't you supposed to describe the environment and the surroundings thoroughly?

When you describe camera shots it's called a shooting script, otherwise you should keep them out.

And no Jake, a brief description of setting is good enough.

Plus the director often decides what the scene is supposed to look like anyway. It's a really rough script.

Also this scene would be like mid-movie so we'd have already established what Kira's Karbines looks like if I made a feature length script. :P

But thanks for the feedback guys! Glad you like it!

I think of making shows out of the shit I think of/do In RP all the time. . . The problem is I don't want to hire actors. The toon idea, has the problem of. . . I don't have an animation program.

Heh, well, I don't think I'll ever turn this into an actual movie--but I took acting last semester so if I ever do make a movie out of it for YouTube maybe I'd know what to look for.

Though like I said, project like this, unlikely at this time.

And so David kissed The guard with passion

That was my favorite fictitious part.

No, it had bisexual virgins with porn-star abilities. Well, virgins is highly unlikely, but most likely it had.
