Title: Storm's End Overwatch
Post by: Mr. Pink on 29-07-2011
Storm's End Overwatch
The Overwatch began as the town guard for Storm's End but soon became too large for the town to afford. So, under the ambition of head guard Dave Carn, the Overwatch split off, becoming a self-sufficient force still based in Storm's End. The Overwatch seeks to make the wasteland a safer place, so as to allow civilization to return.

So who's taken over as Storm's End mayor since Alex's character is too fucked up?

Glen is kinda managing things for now, but Dave is the Leader/Founder of the Overwatch. Really though, Storms End is turning into from a settlement into a fort.

Well I would gladly come back and lead it if my characters weren't so buggy.

Oh yeah, another note. Dave was PK'ed yesterday, so Glen is taking over right now.

Ok, let's clear things up... Glen is in charge of Storm's End. He is also momentarily in charge of The Overwatch until I can find a suitable replacement... Someone who isn't a powerhungry warmonger. We need someone who is both online enough to run it as well as intelligent enough to not misuse it.

I'm not overly impressed with SRP to be honest... It's sort of fun but I mean, the quality of roleplay is a lot lower than FRP...

Then you've played with the wrong people.

I've been playing with pretty much all of Freedom and most of the rookies... That's probably what you meant...

You shouldn't have to search for good RP, everyone should be decent.

Since I am not currently at my gaming computer, I shall leave a little IC thing here.

A note is left on the Overwatch leaders room door, it is attached to it with a knife. Upon closer examination it reads, "I've thought about your proposal, friend. I don't find it as reasonable as one might have hoped. I dislike the town life, and military life, due to past unwanted experiences. Please, come see me in person in a few days and we shall discuss this futher. You shall find me at my regular post in the radio station when I return. Good day. JAKOB

TL;DR: Try RPing with other people besides rookies, and freedom. Also try playing some of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games to get a feeling of the atmosphere before you make a judgement.

I honestly don't see where you're coming from as the best quality of RP I've experienced on FORP was getting robbed. FORP's "quality" of roleplay is low, in my opinion. But you obviously haven't played many of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games, you've showed this in your illiteracy of the initial "feeling" of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Most of the rookies tend to be new, or close to new, roleplayers, and not the best. When you hang around with them you have no grounds to stand on saying that our quality of roleplay is terrible compared to that of FORP that gets about 6-7 of the same people every day and every night.

When you think of it the Fallout RP is sort of like a "no girls" club in the concept of how it gets the same people every time, and barely ever gets new people. The reason a lot of Freedomers aren't serious in their roleplay is because their character isn't serious. Freedom isn't an "always serious" faction like Monolith, Military, and Duty. Freedom is supposed to be "that band of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.S. that just wants to be free." That's the way GSC portrays them and that's the way they should be portrayed. But when you've only hanged out with about one group of people and you make a judgement you make yourself sound like a hypocrite.

You've obviously never RPd with any members of Duty, hell even RPing with the Monolith is fun, though it's usually combat or torture. Try hanging out with some experienced players of HGN, not the rookies (even though some are really good RPers don't get me wrong,) before you make a judgement on SRP as a whole.
