More "Auto-hitting" controversy! Well, less controversy this time.

Funny, I had the same exact argument with Jake a while ago that I had with someone today! "You can't dodge bullets!" Difference is I used actual bullets this time. :P Jake, when playing Roy, only ICly shot me and never in-game. I on the other hand play a bit different. Generally people currently on the server agreed with what I did--or so it appeared to me.

Anyway, fun story to say the least... Got my adrenaline pumping.

On my alt Kira I had just recently begun a profession in trading weapons. I found some paper and wrote a little advert on it and dumped it around spawn in hopes people would come find Kira the arms dealer. Well, some (probably new) character with the FR at one point while I was visiting spawn ran by and swiped my paper and took off. I had a waster there with me. We looked at each other, pulled out our guns, and gave chase. (I had no chance to /me the chase because we already lost sight of the person it happened so quick. Mind you they didn't /me stealing the paper either, but I could care less.)

Well we chased this lady down, found her cornered in a busted open end of a building. She apparently didn't like that I was dealing arms as competition to FR--even though I tried to explain I have fair prices, and I'd never try to underprice FR if I could avoid it. She was unarmed and threatening us with the FR hunting us down if we hurt her. Good IC thing to do, but also ICly scared Kira probably more so than would have helped this FR girl. What's going through my head is, "@#$%, now I have to shoot this lady or make a very powerful enemy with the rest of the Frankie's Republic!" I was thinking of the "NLR" or whatever it is. The rule that says you can't metagame from stuff in a past life if you get killed. It's the only thing that'd save me.

Well I /me'd unclicking the safety on my rifle--not that I needed to. I'd like to call it a warning, though OOCly I knew I was going to have to shoot her whether I liked it or not. I'm already pointing it at her from the chase. We (the waster and I) told her we'd shoot. Then I see the radio signal text thing over her head. Note, she did not /me calling her buddies. Either way the results would have been the same I guess. Really, what went through my head was, "If the call gets through, I'm screwed" at this point. I just typed in real quick, "/me fires." And emptied my clip at her in a panic. I think like, 3 bullets hit. At least one in the face. I just panic fired. She went down, and I start getting accused of DM. Oh well. She's talking about reporting me, but I don't see any reports against me here on the forum so I think she changed her mind or something...

Also pillaged a single weapon she must have had no ammo for. No more, no less. Somewhere I heard something about a "one item loot" rule on kills... idk... I was nice by not stealing everything I'd like to believe. Of course before she even returned to the body I was getting yelled at for it by her. Still, this time I am 99% confident I did it CORRECTLY.

Why do I have the 1% for flaw? Well, the same reason I'm posting here! I want to make sure, 100%, I didn't screw up a third time in a row.

Because the whole thing got NLR'd or whatever the term is, I later became hunky dory friends with Frankie's Republic amusingly enough. I tell you though, I snuck through the wasteland for a half hour paranoid that a radio call got through and they were hunting me! As freaky as that was (so much so I got sick to my stomach IRL), I survived, learned they weren't trying to kill me, and we all lived happily ever after.

As with my last post I'm not going to bother posting the other person's name, one because I'm not here to get anyone in trouble, two judging by the fact that this argument lasted for, like, 5-10 minutes? I think the other person just realized, "Oh wait a minute... damn it... maybe I am wrong." Kind of like what happened when I had my incident with Roy (Jake's character).

Anyway, post below; tell me if I did hash anything up that I missed. I've replayed what happened a dozen times in my head now, I can't find anything wrong--but alas, there's the 1% for this reason in case I did screw up. Tell me what you guys think? I post these stupid threads so I can learn from my mistakes while others have the opportunity to learn from my mistakes as well.

They cannot use /radio without a /me either way - to be fair, you should have waited. If she had radioed FRA, then you could have contacted an admin for help.

If I were you, I'd shoot the one who was trying to use /radio as well.

Heh, well, then in theory I'd have to hunt down and kill all of the FR who were online during this. I don't know which ones of 'em had radios.

No, because you killed him BEFORE he could send the message.

You're fine. I saw the logs from someone who watched this. The person you shot was trying to metagame horribly.

FRA shouldn't know about it. And since that char didn't know you her radio message probably wouldn't lead to you getting Blacklisted by the FRA.

Hurray! I won't die! ICly Kira is doing her best to lay low to be safe, however. Though that's nothing new. I'm constantly sneaking around while using Kira.
