Moar Scavenging

We need it. :3

But seriously, I know every time an admin does scatter some items, they get picked clean in minutes. It's amazing really. I've only ever had one good scav run while playing, back on gm_atomic I think. I played that map in my first few days as a Brotherhood member and did my first successful scav run with Anton.

There were a whole lotta monsters to kill too. Maybe in addition to scaving, especially when you've actually strewn about some items, there be some sparse monsters to guard them. Plonk a Zombine inside a house now and then, or a fast zombie hiding in some rocks, or an antlion in the woods--or a fucking antlion guard to protect the REAL nice goodies.

Plus, I'm sure everyone would like to see new weapons too. I remember someone in the FR getting a Fallout 3 Combat Shotgun from god-knows-where and it's the ONLY one of it's kind. I also know everyone has a piss ton of .44 ammunition and no one owns a Desert Eagle. I myself have stumbled across Electron Charge Packs and yet no one has a Gatling Laser. Plus I'd also like the opportunity to stumble upon a sniper or scoped weapon of ANY kind.

When I first joined with HGN I heard a rumor about some sort of item weapon spawning script. What ever happened to that?

Okay, first of all, you won't find(I hope)/buy a gatling laser.
Antlion guards are extremely easy to kill and NPCs are very shitty item guards, because they tend to wander off mostly.
The only ones who can solve this issue are people who are given right to spawn items, unfortunately operators can't do that, limiting us to our busy Paintcheck, Silver and Cutch, however the latter is losing hope for FRP every day.

There are no scoped weapons except SVD and VSS.

False.
Blake.H: And im also working on whipping him into shape
Blake.H: He's nice
Blake.H: He doesn't moan
Blake.H: The sheer obedience is enough to fuel my erection anyway

Desert Eagle isn't in game, nor is any other .44 firing gun. Same with 5.45, nothing uses it. There is nothing we can do about that until Silver adds more stuff.

Enclave has a Gatling Laser. Whoever has been spawning charge packs should stop since we don't scavenge ammo.

NPCs don't guard items because they wander off.

That being said every time I get on I try to spawn items but when you have 20 people online all combing the map nonstop there is no way I, by myself, can possibly spawn enough stuff to last longer than 5 minutes. Silver has also told me repeatedly not to spawn crazy weapons and to keep it mostly to pistols and ammo.

And yes Silver was saying he was working on a weapon spawning script which I believe the "Random Item Vending Machine" is a "proof of concept" for. Once that is perfected he will add it in game so I don't need to spend every waking moment dropping items everywhere.

I will say this though: If items are that important for you then you're going to be disappointed. As a BoS member they supply you all you need so why do you want to scavenge so badly?

Yea that sums it up. I know for a fact you scatter stuff, but like I said it's amazing how quick it gets picked off.

Because they don't... lol. But really, I find myself playing my Waster more and more often because of how little there is to do on my BoS. At least with my waster I get to be an arms dealer.

Plus BoS doesn't let me pick and choose. They give me what they want to give me. No more, no less. I like a little verity.

However, I do hope to see Silver add in lots more in the future. Revolvers firing .44's for example, or perhaps some scoped weapons, explosives are fun too... this list goes on. I understand this Fallout RP is relatively new for HGN, am I correct?

Depends on what you mean by "New". This project has languished in developmental hell for no less than 2 years but this is the first time it has launched with any meaningful amount of content.

And I would like to see a revolver too, if for no other reason than to give my Enclave captain a General Patton-y feel when I pop some wastelander in the skull with it.

Wolfinton

I just think we should be happy with what we get placed around the map already. I believe I once heard an admin go on about how awkward it could be to go about dropping all of the stuff, so...
Pink doesn't make me gay, it makes you homophobic.

Paintcheck

Yeah it really is. There's no list of item call names so that takes some trial and error to spawn it in my inventory (it took me ages to figure out that a 10 mm pistol was "weapon_pistol10mm" and not "weapon_10mmpistol") to drop on the ground. And sometimes the spawn command glitches like this one time I was trying to spawn an FRA guy a Chinese Assault rifle (he joined FRA before the flags gave starting gear so I had to manually give it to him) and for some reason everything I typed resulted in Jet being spawned in his inventory. So it really is more of a hassle than a lot of you realize.

It's new then. :P Or at least the content is new. New content is always nice and I'm sure we'd all love to see more.

I agree. :3

This being our own little version of Fallout, there's always some things we can tinker with and manipulate--such as what weapons we have. Not everything has to be totally canon but obviously it has to make sense. We can always toss in a few interesting toys of our own! Though this is of course up to Silver's discretion. I'm a writer, not a programmer by profession!

I've had some interesting private Fallout RP in the past though. Using that Atomic map, a small handful of friends and I did a nooby little Fallout RP a long time ago. I just so happened to have Day of Defeat WWII guns installed--so I used those.

I do love variety though. The more the better. Be creative!
