Quick note...I am not an english major. I am the far oppisite from an English Major.

Good day Gentlemen and nemeltneG(:Troll Face). I make this post today, to express my displeasure in the direction that Fallout Role-Play is going. There has been many problems in the past and Fallout Role-Play did have an incredible rocky start but some problems got fixed and now Fallout Role-Play from having little to no one on, has had an average of 5 people on during a school day. Fallout started to get really fun awhile back until a series of unfortunate events such as BoS becoming the super power of FoRP, The Random Item Machine, Frankie's Republic and many more. The problems got fixed and people steadily started to come back on. This new addition that I have been bitching Silver (Last Exile) to implement is actually somewhat putting a band aid on Wastelander Boredom problem which is the addition of the settlements however, I say only put a band aid on a wound that won't stop bleeding. Eventually this will get boring and we are going to have a dead server again. Things don't have to spiral downward out of control.
The first major problem on Fallout Roleplay is....it's not fallout role-play. This is just a generic Apocalypse role-play without the debris and devastated terrain with junked cars and scraps all over the place. Placing a few props out of place does not patch the problem. Where is the junked cars all over the place? Where is the junk yards where people can scavenge for their town. Where are the ruins of buildings? Where is the FALLOUT in Forp? Basically I am harping on how the environment does not feel like forp. Either place the props, or make a map. I know making a map is hard but there are many great map makers out there that are willing to work for free or maybe for a fee. But, hey! Silver gets donations, you can use the donations to fund the map maker. This is just the asthetic problem people. I can live without this, but a nice map can attract new players to Fallout Role-play.
Another Major Problem is that the lore isn't Fallout. Mutants, raiders, robots, and the 50's style are all not present in FoRP. No, Antilion and head crabs do not count. Where are the mutants roaming the land, some trying to live peacefully and others trying to kill everything they see. Where are the raiders making everyone's life a living hell and attacking the settlements engaging epic battles on control of settlements? Although silly, where are the clunky robots aimlessly roaming the land or serving people adding a funny 50's sight of the future to the lore? A huge problem is where is the 50's feel? The game is supposed to be what the 50's thought of the future. What about the land surrounding our location, what is going on over there? Are there rumors of towns that have been rebuilt? Are there rumors of an oil rig controlled by raiders? RUMORS, can help bring the lore back in(when I mean by rumors I mean by ic lore)however, people can agree that just hearing about these rumors only spark excitement but that can only go on for so long. People need to witness these rumors. Let's say that there is a band of raiders migrating south and they are probably coming through our sector. Settlements ready their barricades and cover. They hand each civilian a weapon and they prepare for the raiders. That would add some fun to the game. Oh yeah, and when I mean by rumors I don't mean how Kira likes to do them by broadcasting that there are rumors. Spread them through the word of mouth. Scatter papers all over the place stating your rumor. A thing that Blake LOVES to do, is to spawn a bunch of npcs attacking a settlement. That is fun to an extent but is boring as fucking shit when that is the only kind of event. Jake had a GREAT event once where a group of wastelanders found a bunker with raiders inside and had lore about how it was going to be an Enclave base but raiders took it over and then the bunker was going on self destruct and me and the survivors had to hack the computer to let us out. It was fun! It was an event where I logged off happy from how interesting the event was.
To continue about the Mutants not being present, it is because Silver tried to make the donation level similar to the Stalker role-play. No one wants to pay $100 to become a super mutant so the Fallout role-play feels more like Fallout. I think it should be changed to this. Super Mutant, Ghoul, Feral Ghoul and Robots should be treated as models in Stalker Role-play. You pay $15 to get the model but I think you can expand and go by tiers. Super mutant, then experienced Super Mutant, then Super Mutant Boss, then Super mutant Master. This can work with Feral Ghouls and Robots. For Ghoul, just donate $15 for the model. For something serious like Death Claw you can make it maybe a bonus for people who donate $100 or more. However, this is just my idea of how the donation system can go.
Well Gentlemen as you can see here, my main problem is that this isn't fallout role-play. This is just Half Life Desert Role-play. Things can be fixed. I want your opinion if you manage to read through all of this. What do we need fixed? Do you think that I am wrong and things are fine the way they are? The only way we can fix Fallout Role-Play is if we express our displeasure.

I kind of like this, it makes really good points.

How would you add a 50s feel in a desert?

Robots you say? We don't have the models.
Rumors? I'll take this into consideration.
Raiders attacking/threatening settlements? We need more players.

I believe that we should make it so that you can apply to be a super mutant or a ghoul.
Blake.H: And im also working on whipping him into shape
Blake.H: He's nice
Blake.H: He doesn't moan
Blake.H: The sheer obedience is enough to fuel my erection anyway

This. Besides anyone can be a raider, you don't need a model for that and you can buy the suit anyway.

And so we enter the cycle of "how do we get more players without solving the problems that lead to not having more players which are caused in part by needing more players?"

I agree with this, has some good points, I think we should be able to apply for mutants (like silver said) and/or other monsters. One main thing I would like, Is to apply for an event maker so we do not need SA's on to make an event. Or at least make a person (that applies) able to spawn npc's. Just a thought, Thanks.

"When in doubt, mumble."

For event creators, no. We have SA's/SV's/traders.

No, the point is, it gets annoying as fucking shit when all you are doing is fighting antilions. We need events!

[flash=500,30]http://www.youtube.com/v/9UousVNJaIM[/flash]

I've been building stuff with lore behind it, Blake staticprop'd one of my contraptions.
I will do events around these locations later.

I suggested an event maker once long ago, was basically shot down with good reason.

Question. You going to adress any of the other problems?

[flash=500,30]http://www.youtube.com/v/9UousVNJaIM[/flash]

Disregarding the other posts, who do have some good points; It could very well be better but right now as the 'Lack' of players making it hard to do large things for obvious reasons. No matter how many hour-coded NPCs roam the desert, It may always be as abandoned.

If NPCs were roaming, people would come to the server just to farm items.

But, FORP got fucked in the beginning due to bad choices.

This.

And no, you guys are missing the fucking point. Npcs ruin the roleplay at times.

Guess mine got shot down too. Lol.

Anyways I guess you could get some coders to make mutant npc's.
Or make other people creatures to RP with, but then players would get killed often... I really don't know...

^This.
Theres enough stalker admins to take care of FORP too.

There are admins for SRP that are playing SRP and admining SRP
We need dedicated admins for FRP

Implying that people don't do that already. 90% of the "rpers" on Gmod think farming items is RP. We have mutant NPCs already (granted most of them are HL2 ones but I know Blake ported that nice ghoul one over) that work more or less fine.

I love the sound of this. This has gotta be the best server ever if this was put in it

Answer 1: NewVegas did it.
Answer 2: Event based as in admins are the raiders because, raiding is near impossible unless it is event based. You try to rob a person, the person thinks they are neo and can take cover behind something before you can squeeze the trigger and then when they bitch about how they can't be shot because they took cover behind a thin metal sheet you get in a large looc arguement with some dumb fuck for a good 10 minutes and then a normal jack with a 9mm who played Fallout 3 who thinks he is the lone wanderer and hears the looc arguement runs up to the people and shoots the raider.
Sunday my raider who has a grudge with Kira's Karbines catches a gaurd wounded and another healing the wounded. I aim my shotgun (keyword SHOTGUN) from about a 3 feet away behind the back of the doctor who is healing the wounded and fire and I say you should both be dead now and they start getting in this looc arguement how only the doctor can be shot I say fine alright and then this fucking dumb wit some how manages to pull out a gun and shoot me even though his torso should be cleared off. Then finally Kira walks in and goes WHATS THE MEANING OF THIS! It is im-fucking-possible.

Answer 3: Ghouls and SuperMutants once again should be treated like the tier system in stalker. $20 gets you the lowest tier supermutant, ghoul, raider, wastelander, etc. and so on.
