I've decided I'm reviving the dead town

Although some other folks have 'claimed' it, none of them are ever online. >_>

But let's try to revive that town to get some decent RP, and stop the Enclave from lolraiding anywhere they feel like. Because people are refusing to log in due to lack of a safe haven and no BoS to combat them.

So now I just need to name it. I'll make a mayor character later, but we'll have actual elections too for mayors if we can--so if one mayor sucks, they can elect a new one.

For the love of god, no democracy. It just doesn't work on the internet, even more so on an online RP. It will crash and burn and quickly become a dictatorship.

Also, don't just kick people out because you don't think they're active enough. I have seen Mr Head Speaker on enough to actually run the town, give him a chance. If he has other things to do offline, don't penalize him online for it.
Pink doesn't make me gay, it makes you homophobic.

Hm, maybe a democracy -would- fuck up. Oh well.

Ironically he logged in today. Though I'm not so much penalizing him for not being on, but I just want a town to get started. A town needs someone to lead it at least to a certain extent. If he can do that, then we're good. If not, I have to do it.

through out history, Democracy never worked. Athens didn't get shit done with democracy and even made hasty desisions. A republic however works. They are people elected to be a representative for them and they are people who understand how politics work and know how to control society well. That is the idea I am going for anyways with New Duxbury, people choose the leaders and the leaders will do their thing however if things get out of hand with the leaders, people can kick them out.

I bolded the last bit. That's mostly what I want to be able to happen if we get more stupid-ass leaders. Though yea, a pure democracy rarely works. Republic does, but republic won't work on such a small scale either.

The only place true democracy has ever worked is on pirate ships. :P

I think the town is going to end in the same way no matter who controls it because everyone will want to control it.

I don't think so, I control it now, and no one's made a move yet. Not many people want to logg the housr to run a town.

True, I hope it can stay without some little town civil war for a good while.

So far he's doing a good job. I don't need to step in like I expected.
