Title: Wensley Stroustrup the Second, Earl of Redrust
Post by: CoolFeerman on 07-07-2014
Name:
Wensley Archibald Stroustrup, Viscount of the Ferrum, Baronet, Licensed Hairdresser, Earl of Redrust, Page to Sir Perthiam Reginald Archibot Windsingham Thronghandler Crumb the Fourth, and Gentleman

Age:
Approximately 7.117 x 10^3 Solar Cycles, Local

Sex:
1

Build (Height/Weight):
Being of the Alpha series, Wensley would undoubtedly weigh around 31.214 stone.
His titanium cranium stops short of 175.26 cm.

Race:
Glitch

Skin:
Steel plated Beta C alloy.

Hair:
Alpha-Beta Brass and other metals.

Eyes:
Beryllium Aluminium Cyclosilicate crystalline structures tinted green.

Handedness:
Yes

Distinguishing Marks: (Anything that stands out; scars, tattoos, birth marks, etc.)
N/A

Cybernetics/Replaced parts(If Any):
Yes

Physical Description:
Wensley Stroustrup, esq. is an Alpha series robot, model A5. He is precisely 175.268573295 centimeters high and his waist is precisely 79.8281475 centimeters around. His face is devoid of any hair-accessories and his cranium-plate has attached a yellow, round hair-accessory to it.

Personality:
Wensley is oblivious to any truths of the world besides what his Most Esteemed Duke tells him. He is loyal and honest to a fault, and while ignorant of many cultures, many things, and many people, Wensley is very knowledgeable about Glitch-centric ideals and practices. Akin to his lord and master, all space and tech is taboo Wizardry and as the Duke says, Wizards be removed.

Character Traits:
Loyal and honest. Self-esteem comes from his lord. Hates floran and wizard. Has encyclopedic knowledge of all things Glitch. Snobbish.

Character Flaws:
Loyal and honest (to a fault). Self-esteem comes from his lord (who is an egotistical, delusional pile of sentient metal). Ignorant (of everyone and everything - mostly). No stylish hair-accessory on his face. Barely literate and unable to speak other languages well. S.. snobbish?

Quirks:
A programming fault makes his voice-commands loop occasionally. Loves to consume nuts and bolts, and is oblivious to their practical usage.

Bloodline:
Many minor nobilities link with Wensley's 'bloodline', far too many to list.

Genetype:
Robot genes?

Contacts/Friends:
Sir Perthiam Reginald Archibot Windsingham Thronghandler Crumb the Fourth, Duke of Abbott.

Enemies:
All wizards and all Floran, though he would deny it if you asked.

Final Will & Testament:
I leave all of my belongings to Sir Perthiam Reginald Archibot Windsingham Thronghandler Crumb the Fourth, Duke of Abbott, my greatest friend and beloved mentor.

Former Career(If Any): Minor Noble

Basic Skills:
Very basic literacy. Can make oils and food (all for the Master). Can retain information well. Knows a few songs on the viola, but is no virtuoso by far.

Advanced Skills:
Proficient at all types of combat (except using the black-magic known as 'guns' to those disgusting Wizards). All-time reigning crossbow champion on his homeworld. His implement-chip allows him to process puzzles well. Has encyclopedic knowledge of all things Glitch.

Lacking Skills:
Any dishonorable act and dickassery is far from a thing he would do. Magic is a taboo that shall never be touched. Poor at negotiation and diplomacy. Clumsy at everything he isn't good at, caused by a torn wire which evokes the emotion known as "anxiety".

How/Why you were brought aboard the U.M.S.C Retribution Prison Barge:
The wizards abducted his lord, mentor, and closest friend, so he committed a lot of crimes, ending in assault on a U.S.M.C. marine, on a human moon to be reunited with his master.

Background:
Wensley was the lovebot of two Glitch belonging to warring nobilities, and grew up in a small manor, on a small moon, with a small opportunity at anything. Wensley was never the brightest bot, and boasted a brain barely better than the best... he wasn't the most sophisticated Glitch, but developed a strong database of his own people and culture. He was trained, as nobles are, in the act of warfare. His circuits, while some loose, came together to make a Glitch noble who was aware of his own, tough in a fight, and a decent strategist.

As a prototype, he spent his time alone and confused. His parents came to visit him separately and their visits were few and far between. Even though his families supposedly ruled this moon he called home, the other childbots picked on Wensley. He felt alone, an emotion difficult for most Glitch to successfully process. He spent most of his time reading about what made Glitches function, how the 1's and 0's came together to make something that could logically make decisions like any inferior fleshy race. He was trained with a sword and shield, with a horsebot and rover, but he truly excelled at the crossbow. He was shooting fleshy birds and stacks of hay before he could properly mimic the act of walking like a biped. Days came and went in his young years, and before anyone had the time to back up their personalities, he became a teenbot.

As a teenbot, his view of his situation expanded. He realized that, even though his families weren't too powerful, together they had potential. He worked with what few resources and friends he had to unite his families, but the endeavor proved fruitless. "What good are titles and heredity if they are squandered in petty feuds?" he thought, and so he sought out the man who he thought could truly help him. On a planet a relatively few lightyears away, he met Sir Perthiam, an honest gentleman and true Glitch he had heard. His original motive of getting Perthiam's help to unite his families soon diminished after Perthiam's perfection made Wensley decide to follow this epitome of exactness, this 'True Glitch'. He learned a lot, and if it hadn't been for Perthiam's sudden and unfortunate abduction by Space Wizards, he would've learned quite a bit more. Following this truly horrendous scenario, Wensley committed a string of petty crimes and was apprehended by a U.S.M.C. marine in full combat armor, who Wensley futily attacked. I guess that said marine was having a bad day, because when the next U.S.M.C. Prison Barge came about, he nonchalantly added Wensley to be abducted by Official U.S.M.C. Space Wizards. Luckily for old Wensley, this was the same Flying Space Horse that his mentor was on, and his robot heart ran at x2 efficiency.

He still holds loyalty to his families, and somewhere deep down wants to realize his full potential and one day unite his warring clans into one.

Oh, and somewhere along the way he became a licensed hair professional.

Oh lovely, he has a minion. I'm sure you and Sir Perthiam are going to be a riotous pair of characters. My one issue would be your being picked up by the Retribution; normally it would require something a little more extreme than a few petty crimes. While there are instances where they just ship prisoners somewhere else for the buggery of it, more often than not it's for high security purposes.

For example, Sir Perthiam was thought to have destroyed a penal colony.

If you can't (or simply don't want to) think of something more grandoise, I'll let it slide, since your character obviously was working his mechanical willpower towards reuniting with Sir Perthiam, but if you want to make it a little more fitting you can put something else in there too.

Otherwise this character looks quite dandy.

I'm certain young squire Stroustrup would have violently defended me from the wizard abductors, and unless I'm mistaken (provided they didn't kill him first) the USMC would gladly imprison someone who attacked them.

I could actually see it quite comedic as the young squire tries to ineffectually harm a marine who's in full combat/riot armor. The marines get fed up with it after a while and say "Just take that one, too. I guess."

This is great. I'll edit my post to represent this better.

That works for me. Just slap 'Defective' on his forehead and give him his wish.
