Earlier Youth
Varialle-Tei, a female Natoli. Brought into this world by her poor parents. Although they themselves hailed from the lands of Ki'shator, she did not. She was born in lands near to the border of the Outlands, and raised in that area as well. At an early age, she was taught the basis of literacy, which began to develop, it showed the potential to fruit and develop into a fine ability. It took a lot of time, but at a relatively young age; she was fully literate. She was keen to quickly venture far from the camp. Day after day, she brought back various things with her. Long, wooden sticks for example, which she took the courtesy to practice with, as if they were swords. She also found various, abandoned parts of metal armor, all of which would be stashed away until they could become of use.. if anything seemed like it would have a value, she took it home with her.

Every now and then, she would think of the world outside of the area that she frequented oh so much. What was it truly like outside of the little home that had been made by her father for them to live inside. She thought about the people; her parents had told her of people whom were not like the Natoli, born without the scales that marred their skin and without the tails that sat on their back. It made her somewhat uncomfortable, for she had grown up just knowing the two parents that had raised her, whom were Natoli. She couldn't imagine it, and for a long time, those thoughts would hold firm, somewhat worrying her, and causing darker thoughts to stir.

Eventually, the Natoli's knowledge caught up with her vivid curiosity of the outside world. The reality dawned upon her fresh mind that she could no longer stay in one place, she sought to go astray from the safety of her parent's wing, however; she was unsure as to how she could go about and do this. Varialle appeared before her parents on multiple occasions to try and get out the same message that she had been trying to speak for a long time; however, her tongue was always tied up before she could so much as try to mention leaving. The thoughts of the outcome haunted her, but the Natoli's wishes to leave would be stowed away for the meantime.

Essentially, Varialle-Tei continued her life slowly as she reached the end of her youth. She practiced long and hard with salvaged weapons that she had been fortunate enough to come across, slashing hard at trees in various different manners to find what hit the hardest, up until the point of where the weapon would break. She would practice with her father using the wooden sticks that she found, practicing long and hard to kill the time that made up the countless days that dragged on. Both would return to the shack, tired and weary, and ready for rest.

The Natoli rested for many days, which turned quickly into many months, many seasons; many years passed, slowly seasoning herself into a little adventurer, practicing for days on end, and beginning to spend days and nights away from her parents, sleeping in the wilderness and learning to become independent. However, as her life and it's progress began to slow down, the will to finally break free from her parent's wing finally broke through the boundaries of which made her stay under said wing. At the age of 24, the Natoli approached her parents, and spoke of her decision.

Varialle had finally wrought herself free from her parent's care, but at the same time, she was evidently upset for doing so. She would be leaving the company of those whom she had known for so long..

Just a curious suggestion; emotional isolation and shyness can be similar, but they're often mutually exclusive. If she spent more time with her family, she'd almost certainly be shy - but that's different from being emotionally isolated, which I take to mean keeping her feelings under wraps.

Suggestion: simply make her shy, and avoid people and friendships. Perhaps she takes a significantly longer period of time to form a friendship? The problem with shy, or somewhat apprehensive characters, however, is that they can be difficult to find roleplay for.

Perhaps, although spending the whole of her childhood and youth without even so much as seeing a Human would certainly impose some degree of Shyness around them, I wasn't all too sure about the Emotional Isolation. I've revised the Characteristics now anyway, and I've taken your suggestion into consideration, you have my thanks.
